It all began 38 plus years ago – a journey – a epic adventure –

Opposites in so many ways – but so same in other ways !

A grade school friend of mine is embarking upon a bike ride –

a 450 mile bike ride – for charity – his wife is driving the motor home

I ONCE rode a bike for 34 miles –

NEVER AGAIN !

THAT IS ME !!

She talked me into riding through the streets of DC.

They were playing the theme song of ” ROCKY” at the start !

She said – “LETS DO THE WHOLE COURSE – YOU CAN DO IT ” !

That is my wife Sherry –

she always knows no boundary and that is why I married her !

About 3 miles from the finish line –

I CRAMPED UP !

I had to get off the bike and walk –

or they would have to take me to the hospital !

My thighs were balling up –

That was my first and last time riding in a bike tour !

Didn’t bother her a bit –

But – I will say up to then it was fun !

I will get dressed – we are going somewhere –

Then – I GET THE EVER SO CRITICAL EYE !

Your shirt has a spot on the back of the shoulder !

I look – and look – pin head size – yet she spotted it !

Change shirt –

put in laundry room –

HOW DID SHE SEE THAT ?

She could actually take the place of those satellites in space

The kind that can see a golf ball from a thousand miles away !

Give me a drink and friends

Now she can sing – I can’t –

I sound like a old love sick coon hound !

But – when we do get together with friends –

The KARAOKE MACHINE comes out –

Cindy ( the lounge lizzard ) has a portable one –

We always sip a few – toss back some fireball

and begin our singing !

Sherry gets into it after a glass or two –

Again – having fun – laughing –

38 years of it !

Together all these years

The ability to laugh with and at each other –

Parking lots – we always end up in a parking lot when she drives –

No good reason to be there –

we laugh about it –

I can’t hear or so she says

I get mail on hearing aids –

She swears she had nothing to do about it

It is the little things in life that makes her my best friend.

38 years is a long time

life is good

life is funny

Papa’s World – When they were young and small – MEMORIES!

Today – I look back – back to the little ones – who now are the older ones and the next three whom I now call the little ones!

All six of the grandchildren several years ago before we moved to the Carolinas – this at our home in NVA!

Today – the oldest graduates from college – the second oldest is a Sophomore in college – the third oldest is a Sophomore in H.S.

The twins are in sixth grade and Bode – is in second grade.

All have been down to visit us – and the younger ones have spent a week’s vacation with us here at our new home!

The twins – Cassidy on the left and Taylor on the right – with Papa – they were so small when born – both just three pounds plus!

Today – Taylor – then Sarah ( who is 5’10”) and Cassidy – who is actually now growing faster than Taylor!

Sarah is a Sophomore in H.S.

MORMOR – Sherry – and Papa – at the beach shortly after Sherry retired early to pursue her Juice Plus business full time! She is a certified health coach and guides me in healthy eating.

Today the three oldest are with their parents – Maddy – then Ella and Sarah. They have all grown up!

Our son-in-law Mike with Debby and their daughters – Maddy (L) and Ella ( R ) and Sarah ( RR) – make fantastic items from

scratch!

A lamp made from driftwood with birch bark shade! Everything is hand-crafted and we have put this in our Lanai as a night light!

We both love these types of presents and this was a Christmas present.

All the older granddaughters have made our items for presents and those are cherished!

We are a close-knit family – and have visited back and forth. They are about 8 hours away!

We just love this as it goes with our beach theme and how we live close to several beaches. I think he could make and sell these down here!

He makes so many things and is very talented! He has his own workshop.

I started this blog because I wanted to leave memories for generations to come – in pictures – thoughts – words and actions!

I grew up not really knowing my cousins – aunts or uncles – my sister was 15 years older than me and my brother was 10 years older.

By the time I came along – all those cousins were already that much older than me – and I just never knew them!

The few I did know – lived in the township and went to the other schools.

So – here are my blogs for the family now to have after I am gone – to know who we were and how we lived.

Sherry – we have been married 40 plus years – my soulmate and the one who guides me in health!

We are retired and living our life out in the Carolinas – where it is warm – I do not like cold and neither does she!

We live one day at a time – always exploring and doing new things – together!

Papa’s World – Sarah – Cassidy – Bode and Taylor go ice skating!

Taylor – Sarah – Cassidy and Bode – cousins – at the ION ice rink in Leesburg, Va. There also is a full-size ice hockey rink here other than what you see behind them – with thousands of seats!

We got together with Sarah and her mother Debby for a two-hour skate – the kids loved it and they all helped Sarah who hasn’t skated since she was little!

The adults sat here at the table with a full view of the rink – I also went to the hockey rink and watched the youth hockey play – full pads!

Quite impressed with the arena which could rival the pros!

We were able to have food and drinks while watching the kids and they could join us for food!

Taylor who is 12 is almost as tall as Sarah who is 16 and around 5’10! Cassidy has been catching up to Taylor for the last year.

We then went to the grandkid’s house – for a short visit – exchanged clothes – and say our goodbyes!

The afternoon ended too quickly but we all had such a good time and all the kids loved the ice skating!

They sing in front of a lot of people and I think that is awesome of them!

Performing at the Pancake dinner – they have been in the church choir since they were in First grade.

It takes courage to put yourself out there! So proud of them.

Taylor rides horses and Cassidy acts in plays and does gymnastics.

Both Play the violin and Cassidy the piano.

I am always up before sunrise – I love that part of the day – quiet – good nights sleep –

of course by 8:30 pm. I head for bed – so I get to see every day Sunrise and Sunset!

The sunrise at our family’s home in Leesburg, Va. Early morning hustle of kids getting ready – the youngest Bode is the first off to school – heading out the door at 6:50 AM.

Along with both of his parents to walk him to the bus stop!

Of course, Marley – the Goldendoodle – on her leash – leads the way!

The sky is getting lighter at this time – this was the sunrise before they headed out the door.

Then – after the late afternoon – the sunset out the front door!

The ever-changing skies of NVA – a beautiful wide expanse – in their neighborhood which is country!

Sunsets here are also beautiful – after dinner – kids are in from outside –

The TV is on – the dog sleeping – Taylor is reading –

Family time.

Healthy Life – Fresh Food

Seven years ago – we were introduced to ” GROWING ” our own FRESH produce.

Neither one of us ( Sherry) my wife – were gardeners – and the thought of weeding was completely out of my vocabulary !

Then we ordered our first ” TOWER ” Garden –

A aeroponic garden system – using Air – Water and Minerals.

We grow some of our seedlings – others we order and have them shipped to us.

Healthy eating – knowing we use no pesticides – and fresh produce –

allows us to eat healthy all year round !
( We also grow in our garage using grow lights during Winter. )

The system is really quite simple – a tank in the bottom – holds 20 gallons of water.

A pump – is attached to the center of the Tower by a hose –

and pumps water straight up to the top and then drips down through holes in the center of the Tower.

The water also contains minerals from the Earth. Patented – and in liquid form.

Which are supplied when you order for one season. Everything you need is supplied – for your original garden season – this system we have is seven years old and looks as good today as when we bought it !

There is a timer for the pump – 15 minutes on and 15 minutes off. The whole process boils down to making sure you have water – and once a week add some tonic – or in the heat of Summer – every other week.

The fresh produce grows at a very fast rate – in four weeks time we are eating lettuce – Kale – leafy greens . Cuke’s and tomato’s & peppers take longer – but much shorter than a normal garden plot. You can grow most anything that does not require a tree. Mellon’s – Strawberries – squash – egg plant – herbs etc.

Simple – fast – and best of all ” I DO NOT HAVE TO WEED ” ! I HATE TO WEED !

Since we were some of the first in the Country as a test – we decided to purchase two more ! We have one set up for Winter in our garage and two outside as you see here – the produce is only a couple weeks old – the smaller ones about a week !

We also are distributor’s for what is called the Tower Garden – and have placed them in schools as part of a curriculum established by the Juice Plus Company – to teach children how to grow their own fresh produce all across the Country – presently 5,500 Towers are teaching the process nationwide. We are responsible for about 70 – our team is very active.

Promoting health – one green at a time – and some reds!!!! LOL

Our youngest granddaughters – Taylor( the tall one ) on the left and Cassidy on the right – sing vocals in a band performance for their Community Lutheran Church – a band called INSPIRE!

They sang soft rock classics- 500 miles – I love Rock and Roll – Give it your best shot – and ended up with Sweet Caroline!

So proud of both singing in front of a group audience!

Both fraternal twins and 12 years old – Cassidy has a part in a play in April that we plan on coming back to see and both of them have begun Violin lessons.

Taylor loves to read and Cassidy loves to draw and is quite good! Both love their MORMOR – Sherry – MOTHERSMOTHER!

Good day – all things with me start with that first cup of coffee in the morning – two cups and I am done!

Our youngest grandchildren – Bode – the twins Cassidy and Taylor 12 years old –

Being 433 miles away from them – either they come down or we go home to see them – 6 to 8 times a year.

LOL – I seldom drink hard stuff – light beer is more to my taste – esp. RED OAK and then not that often!

Our oldest granddaughters and their parents – Maddy – mother Debby – father Mike – Ella and Sarah – growing up!

We also try to see them as often as we can and everyone has come down for vacation and visits.

Our Autumn years are being spent living life to the plus – THE SALT LIFE!

My oldest son – who is now a senior citizen – with his partner – Andrea and Troy! Come on back – we would love to have you!

They came last summer and want them to come back down – being a 16-hour drive – FLY and we will pick you up!

Good day everyone – our lives have changed – from city living to the SALT LIFE in the CAROLINA’S!

Before – we called home in NVA 30 miles from Washington, D.C. and near the Dulles airport –

5 miles to the Washington Commanders headquarters!

A very busy area – traffic – thousands of homes being built –

They were just completing the fourth H.S. in our community since we moved there 16 years ago.

And then we moved South – to the borders of N.C. and S.C.!

We thought we had our retirement home when we built our last house in NVA!

SURPRISE – housing values went up – the stock market and 401 K went down – SO WE SOLD!

The adventure continues – hoping this is THE DREAM HOME!

And we took our internet business for SIXTEEN YEARS – with us!

This has been a blessing in residual income – better than a second job!

One of the reasons we choose to live in Cameron Woods – is GOLFING!

We are right in the middle of about 25 golf courses in any direction.

It was too expensive to golf back in NVA and we love to golf.

Just out riding around you pass the fairways and greens and we want to be out there!

Another reason is we wanted to be on the mainland side of the ICW – here – we are with our neighbors – Diane and her husband Steve – who own a boat – cruising the ICW.

There is also a boat rental on OIB that we have taken friends out on – this is only a ten-minute drive away for us!

We are thankful for our family – whom have at one time or another visited us in our new area.

Of course, we are the tour guides – we did that for years in the D.C. area and love it.

Here – we take them everywhere and show them the area.

This has once again followed us to where we live – we are living our dream.

In my autumn years – I channel out the negative press – news – and look for the good in humankind!

Papa – chilling at Brickyard Landing golf course in N.C. – a fifteen-minute drive from our home on the ICW!

We had come to the driving range to hit some golf balls and then have a drink on the veranda overlooking the 18th fairway and green!

HAPPY LIFE living each day one day at a time!

While I have never done this – I have come close and one time my buddy did this and went over to the homeowner and said he was sorry!

That proved to be a good thought and outcome as the owner then accepted his apology!

Our daughter Debby and her daughter Maddy – memories from long ago!

Debbby and Maddy – from 2001 – our first granddaughter!

Today – she is a senior – having completed her fourth year as a Hornet at the University of Lynchburg soccer program

and as a captain in her senior year.

Twice going to the NCAA tournament in her four years and winning the Conference title in her senior year.

Our little granddaughter will graduate this spring with an Environmental Science degree!

My two sons from my first marriage – Troy on the left and Shawn on the right.

Shawn and his wife – Trisha! He runs his own business contracting out to the state and energy companies for auditing energy and installation for the elderly.

Shawn is a ranked nine-ball player in both Canada and the USA – winning his way to Las Vegas numerous times.

Troy and his partner – Andrea visited us this past summer.

Until four years ago – Troy built houses from the ground up – doing it all – then he joined Shawn and runs the installation side of the energy auditing business contracting out to the state in insulation for the elderly.

Isn’t this the truth! As you get older – things become a little bit more demanding – but keeping active can slow these down!

Walking – that is my main source of exercise – and we have started playing Pickle Ball!

We try to walk 2 to 3 miles a day weather permitting – we do not walk in rain or strong winds.

We have been taking this supplement for SIXTEEN YEARS – and we have never missed a day!

We recommend this to other folks – the research sold us and the benefits to our bodies!

We do not have pets although our daughter and family have Marley – a golden poodle who is adorable.

Our other daughter and family have a Love Bird – our son-in-law is allergic to cats and dogs!

We live life to the plus one day at a time – enjoying everything we can in the autumn of our lives.

Introducing myself and my wife – Tom ( Papa) and Sherry – married over 40 years – from NWPA – in the Alleghany Mountains!

We have lived in Pa. N.Y. Va. S.C. and N.C.

Second marriage for both of us – combining two daughters ( hers ) and two sons ( mine) –

The two daughters live in NVA and the two sons live in NWPA.

Both retired from a major producer and importer of Ceramic tile

We both strive to be kind – generous – caring – loving – helpful and make a contribution to humankind.

We have had close friends for almost 40 years and some beyond that – here Buck and Cindy who live about 40 miles from us.

We were neighbors back in WNY and have continued to see each other through the years.

Now that we are within one hour of each other – we often times get together to golf – have dinner – or see theater shows in our area.

For SIXTEEN years Sherry has been a partner for the Juice Plus Company – she is a certified health coach –

and has had an internet business during all this time.

This has provided a stable extra income for our retirement for the past 10 years that she has been retired.

Family is very important to us – all have visited us in our new retirement home in N.C.

Christmas decorations for 2022 in our home in Cameron Woods Community – OIB, N.C. Our second Christmas here in our new home!

I do not run because I thud – thud – jarring my whole body – so I walk – almost every day 2 to 3 miles – and strive for 10,000 steps.

The closest beach to our home is four miles and is Ocean Isle Beach – with a pier and this entrance is the Community Center!

At Crooked Hammock in Barefoot Landing, S.C with family when they visited after Christmas but before New Year’s Eve!

Papa’s World – SIXTEEN PLUS YEARS to healthy aging!

We choose after our reaching senior status – to do everything we could possibly do to age as healthy as we could manage to do.

We started watching what we ate – cutting out fast food – soda – milk ( for me) – reducing dairy – and drinking.

We had already years before quit smoking!

Now we started to walk – run every day – for me that was walking – I run really hard – thudding my steps and jarring my whole body!

Vegetables – fruit and some protein – reduce red meat considerably.

Eating grilled fish or baked chicken – drinking a lot of water every day!

We found though for us it was really hard to get the recommended servings each day of fruits and vegetables.

Sherry found a supplement of whole food in a capsule – all the nutrients retained for consumption and immediately go into the bloodstream!

Over 30 different fruits- vegetables and berries in six capsules each day!

And now – for sixteen years – I have not missed a day!

This is what I have taken for 16 years! I will be 74 years old on my next birthday as will Sherry!

We feel as though we have found our answer to aging healthy!

Several years ago we added a fourth bottle to our daily consumption – OMEGAS – not from fish oil – but ALGAE – from the JP company farm! NO MERCURY!

I also will have a nutritious bar – all good “STUFF” to have with the COMPLETE SHAKE I also have!

I prefer the DUTCH CHOCOLATE – with crushed ice – a cup of water and a cup of Almond or Soy milk!

Sometimes a teaspoon of peanut butter or half a banana!

It tastes like a WENDY’S FROSTY!

And to satisfy my sweet tooth – we buy the GUMMIES – in vegetables – fruits, and berries –

they do the sweet tooth thing for me and are all nutrient-based fruits – veggies, and berries!

Great for kids and those who have a tough time swallowing the capsules!

A GOOD DAY TO YOU ALL

Retirement can cause this –

“IT’S JUST ANOTHER DAY “

COFFEE

BUT – mine ALWAYS starts this way ” COFFEE ” !

Yes – that is me !

First thing I do is make that cup –

Usually with a flavored taste to it !

I AM FREE

My phone for the most part – stays in my pants pocket !

I mostly only use it for two things !

First one – ” TO ANSWER IT “

And that comes in a form of a text from my wife !

Second one – ” TO TAKE A PICTURE “

You see I really do not like my phone –

When it rings –

There is this happy – cheery voice –

THAT IS RECORDED !

Yes – you can !

And then that voice continues on with some nonsense –

I have learned to hit the turn off button rather quickly !

Last day of the week

To be honest though –

They all run together –

It use to be – “HURRY UP WEEKEND ” !

Now – it is “MAKE SURE I DO NOT FALL “

When trying to do this ! LOL

YEAH YOU KNOW

And as these days seem to all run together –

So does bed time –

The yawning starts around 8:00 PM.

Be honest now –

Then you start thinking –

What can I dream about to make me fall asleep ! LOL

Turn the AC a little bit colder

Warm blanket –

YEP – 9:00 PM. is the new MIDNIGHT !

Then you realize the weekend is gone –

Monday is here –

Unless you did SOMETHING over the weekend-

It all seems the same !

And even in retirement –

The most important thing you can remember –

“ONE DAY WE WILL DIE SNOOPY “

” YES – BUT EVERY OTHER DAY WE WILL LIVE “

THE AUTUMN OF OUR LIVES

Celebrating the old year with hopes – dreams and family and friends! MEMORIES!!!!

Our two youngest granddaughters – Taylor and Cassidy – started violin lessons in the new school year in September –

Both doing a concert and solos – and in my humble opinion – are doing very well!

We are from Western N.Y. – 65 miles South of Buffalo and are fans of the football team – maybe this year they will once again get

back to the Super Bowl – in hindsight – a very good year!

Our internet business has just gone national on a dozen TV programs – 16 years we have had this income-producing business –

This is now I believe year 30 of this product – and I have never missed a day in 16 years!

In our retirement – this has allowed us to live the way we do – and also age healthy one day at a time!

Close to being 74 years old for the both of us – MEMORIES of years gone past and years to come!

View from the window in the Herring Canning and Packing factory in Edenton, N.C. right on the waterfront!

Completley renovated with pictures on the wall depicting the operation of the canning and fishing procedures.

Jim – Paul – Dottie – Janet – Sherry in one of the dining areas remodeled over from the Herring factory.

We drove here because Jim and Dottie’s lot was only a few miles away and this is the historic district of Edenton –

and just a stone’s throw away from the bay and a raised light-house.

The meal was very good – had hamburger and fries – drinks were good and they had flights of beer which Dottie and Sherry shared.

Flight of beer served on an old piece of driftwood and all the light fixtures hang from the ceiling in pieces of driftwood.

Our friends of years and years – bought this lot just outside Edenton, N.C. – at the far end is a canal and access to the bay.

On the far side of the bay – is the Outer Banks. The canal is 800 feet straight back.

Looking across the bay to the Outer Banks – this view is less than a half mile to their lot.

A dream coming true in a little over 1 1/2 years when Dottie retires and construction begins on their dream home.

Right across from their lot sits the number two hole – a par three! I see lots of sitting on the front porch watching the golfers trying to hit the green!

View back up the road to their building lot from the yard at the clubhouse – golfing with a view and boat access to the bay!

We came here for lunch after the retirement dinner the night before for our friend Jim.

Good times with good friends – I never have been here and it was very elegant.

Years ago we made a trip to Washinton, D.C. with a group of friends from our church – Community Lutheran Church in Sterling, Va. to see Les Miserables on stage.

What a performance and good times with friends. MEMORIES!

Before Bode came along – and her mother was staying with us – a trip to Sweet Frog in Brambleton Town Center with FIVE granddaughters and an afternoon treat.

Now – Maddy is a senior in college and Ella a sophomore in college.

Sarah is a Sophomore in H.S. and the twins are twelve years old! MEMORIES!

The six of us have been friends for about forty-plus years. Living as neighbors to Cindy and Buck and Jim and Dottie grew up in the same little town in NWPA called Eldred in the Alleghany mountains as I did.

Jim – Sherry and I all worked for Dal-Tile – (American Olean Tile) in Olean, N.Y.

And of course, being and working in WNY – we all were Buffalo Bills fans – and we watch them whenever we can by going to

Buffalo Bills sports bars in our areas.

Cindy and Buck live 30 miles from us and we get together often to play a round of golf – have dinner and just enjoy our friendships.

Papa – Dottie – Cindy – Sherry – Buck and Jim – Dottie and Jim live in Va. Beach and in the coming years will build on a piece of property in Northern North Carolina.

They will be about three-plus hours from us when they retire.

Sherry – Cindy – Dottie – Forty-plus years of being friends. When we all get together – it comes down to Gals vs. Guys in a golf scramble.

The last time we gave them two strokes – they missed a four-foot putt on the last hole for the WIN!

So we tied 37 to 37!

Sherry and Cindy – both into walking miles and miles – I try to keep up!

We purchased tickets way back in September of 2022! An ELVIS tribute – three generations progressing from the ’50s

to the late 70’s when he passed away.

Personally – I liked the 50’s music the best as that is when he changed Rock and Roll.

He was the KING – and everyone was following him – from country to rock and roll and R&B. Gospel –

you name it and he was what everyone was copying.

The first performer and the style Elvis had early in his career. This is when all the gyrations came out and all the ladies swooned!

This style is what I liked – as he got older – he was not as moving about as he was here.

ELVIS in the house – ’50s style.

Then came the service for his country and they remade his style – a little more subdued for the ’60s –

but he brought forth the black leather!

All the hits kept coming – I was surprised at just how many he had over 20 years!

Here is the new style – “BLACK LEATHER” and still playing to the audience.

Then in the 70’s came the VEGAS years – heavier and sideburns more pronounced – the famous white suit and cape!

And still, during that time – he kept producing the hits and his style changed – a bit more mature and calmer.

It was here he booked out every performance and to this day still holds the record for most sold

-out shows in a row in Vegas.

We were surprised at how well we enjoyed this show.

All three performers on stage at the end – a great show and we recommend anyone to see it!

Even when it looks gray and drab – at least I see no snow and ice – sand and water are fine for me.

Open-air shopping at the Outlets – love having my coffee and sitting here while I wait for Sherry!

Our family visiting for vacations – brings us much joy – hoping they all come again!

It seems like only yesterday they were so tiny – crawling on the floor – or walking to preschool with their backpacks as big as they were!

Cassidy – Sherry ( MORMOR) swede for mothers mother – Taylor – at the Alabama Theater for the Christmas show.

In the middle – Cassidy and then Taylor – first violin concert – they started at the beginning of the school year.

So proud of both of them – another milestone in their young lives.

The view of Sunset Beach – hardly any clouds – beautiful view through the foliage.

The next night – almost the same view – Sunset Beach – gets its name from the fantastic views.

Ramp to the beach the night before – the beach with a few diehards – a fantastic view.

The next night – “Cotton Candy” skies – still almost deserted – but so inviting to walk the sand and listen to the surf.

A view across the dunes and scrub bush – habitat for many wildlife – the long walkway goes across all of this.

Now across the sand and dunes and scrub brush and trees – “Cotton Candy Skies”!

We have found this to be true here in the new neighborhood – everyone seems to get along and is really nice!

Moon over the EAST end of Cameron Woods – this section is complete – we now know most of the people here –

there have been several block parties and seasonal parties.

We are awaiting the community center to be completed – where we can meet and greet.

We find this community to be very welcoming – mostly retired people here but still folks working from home.

Some are second homes waiting for retirement or vacation homes.

We are fortunate that we can view sunsets such as this or a sunrise from the street end of our driveway.

That is one of the reasons we choose this lot when it became available.

Our home in Cameron Woods Community – not large but enough room for the company – and all on one level!

When we sold the house – the new owners had adopted

a plant based diet – they observed the Tower Gardens

and made the offer to purchase them!

Along with 95 % of our household goods!

This Tower Garden is the one that has the cukes – tomatoes and spreading plants

We did two outside – in the patio we limited it – so as not to spread out

This one is inside the patio and will not spread out so much

There is enough produce to provide for several families

I often over the ten years would give away as we had too much to eat.

You can see just how much is there

They will only have to make sure it has water –

and once every 10 days or so – some nutrients –

and just pick and eat!

This will produce until extra cold weather – frost – ice or snow.

Sherry even made bread and butter pickles –

and we stored tomatoes in newspapers for a while.

Papa’s World – Golfing NEW YEARS DAY with friends!

We spent the night at our friend’s house at Magnolia Greens just outside Leland, N.C., and also friends from Va. Beach stayed.

We played a scramble Gals vs. Guys and gave them TWO strokes over the 18 holes!

Now that may sound like not enough – but on the 18 th. hole – they missed a five-foot putt that would have won the match!

We ended up tying 37 to 39! Only because they boogied the last hole!

As you can see the ball went toward the hole and just stopped inches to one side – that putt would have been the winner!

Sherry had putt just before and Cindy was even closer!

Last hole – par four and they were here in two and three-putt – great job by the ladies and we needed everything we could to tie!

Papa – Buck – and Jim – friends since the 70s – Jim is now retired as both Buck and me.

Cindy – Sherry – Dottie – arriving at number 18 – and at that time we did not know what they were shooting or that they had to par to win the match!

We try as often as we can to get together – having great times as friends for years.

Playing their drive on number 18 – par four – they ended up on the edge of the green.

Magnolia Greens as far as I am concerned is one of the best courses in our area – 27 holes and in great shape.

Sherry putt the third shot for birdie and was about five feet away.

Friends at Magnolia Greens golf course – Gals vs Guys – tied after 18 holes – love these peeps.

Papa’s World – CONGRATS JIMMY “B” – RETIRED!

“JIMMY and PAPA” friends since 1977 – best buddies – friends – the same little town in NWPA!!!

Jimmy and I have played softball together – volleyball – golf – corporate cup competitions – family vacations – for years and years.

Friendships usually do not last that long – but this one is still ongoing – and he retired from the same company I did yesterday!

Dottie – Sherry – Cindy – Buck – Jimmy and Papa – friends all these years – neighbors – three of us worked for the same company – now all retired except Dottie who has a little over a year to go.

These friends go all the way back to 1980 – through thick and thin – NWPA and WNY – still going strong!

New years eve together for years and years – Cindy – Sherry, and Jim – starting off the end one year and the new one coming in.

Jimmy has been there since Sherry and I were married in 1982 – many vacations together with families – many times visiting each other – and soon – golfing together more often when Dottie retires.

A day on the ICW with all our friends and neighbors from back in WNY! Mike and Carol John joined us for a few days!
