Douglas will stop overnight – on his journey back North from Florida.
Doug is first cousin to Sherry – both his grandmother and Sherry’s grandmother were sisters
and both from Sweden first generation.
Doug is two years older and can speak fluent in Swedish.
He was a educator all his life – Principal – Superintendent and author.
With over 7000 followers on his twitter blog site.
This is the first time in I believe four years since we last saw him.
And – have invited him to stop in on his next journey through the area.
I love history – and family history is my observations I like to listen to.
I would sit for hours and talk to her mother about her and her family and childhood.

We haven’t seen Douglas since 2016 when his brother-in-law died and likely he won’t be coming to Olean any time now that his sister isn’t living here. His mother and Sherry’s grandmother were sisters so they are second cousins. My mother was also one of the sisters. While Sherry’s grandmother was born in Sweden, both Douglas’ mother and mine were born in this country. Know there is a lot of history to take in from Barbara’s side and likely you haven’t heard the half of it since there were 10 children in the Bergstrom family and most of them lived in the Olean area so Sherry didn’t see as much of them as those of us who grew up in Olean. Sounds like your house is coming along nicely. Moving in will be here before you know it! Judy
