Mt. Rose ski slopes – 8250 feet – a little chilly but refreshing.
Cindy – me – Buck
As our adventure starts – we decided that we would completely
drive the whole way around Lake Tahoe
we ended up driving 180 miles that day !
Mt. Rose – 8250 feet highOur first sight of Lake TahoeCindy and Sherry pointing at the lake although it looks like trees they are holding up ! Lake TahoeClear watersSwimmersSwimmers snorkeling
We would pull off road and take pictures – it was so beautiful
The water is so clear you have 100 feet visibility !
However – the average temperature of the water is
42 degrees low and 64 high – too cold for me !
However – we read where it never freezes over
The warm water at the bottom always rises to the top
Today it was run for cancer ” FAMILY STYLE ” MORMOR – daughter Tammy – son in law Marcus – Taylor – Cassidy and Bode all ran. The adults ran the Five K ( Sherry finished 3rd in her age group 60 to 69 !
MORMOR ( Sherry) finishing – the time is from the start of the front runners – her time was 40:43 !!!! 3.1 miles 3 out of 16 in her age group!
Marcus finished in 30:21 minutes – Tammy 35 minutes ! The three little ones ran a mile – after the 5K was over.
Tammy just before the finish and Cassidy cheering her on.
The mile for the kids – Cassidy finished toward the top after hanging back to be with Bode- Taylor took over and let Cassidy go !
Cassidy racing to the finish – she would of made top three had she not waited to be with Bode !
Taylor staying with Bode who is only four years old – being the big sister leader and protector!
It was truly a family run – running for a neighbor who is a survivor – running for themselves as healthy living – healthy eating and following their MORMOR on living life to the plus – teaching the rules of being health wary and eating properly.
Marcus dashing to the finish line !
All in all – a great morning outing – cold at 57 degrees with lots of gusting wind – around 700 runners – prizes – and the winner is Health – Nutrition and working for a cure for cancer.
Proud PAPA of this family – and also watching my grand daughters play soccer last night – but that is another blog !
Arriving at 10:45 am. West Coast time – we gathered our luggage
and caught the shuttle to the Budget car rental.
We then had to go to terminal B – we came into terminal A
and pick up our friends Buck and Cindy McBride
from Wilmington NC.
They were outside waiting as we drove up !
Sherry in our brand new air B&BView out the back deck snake haven as far as I am concernedCindy and Sherry preparing for morning walk They got lost !!!!A look out the back somewhere up in the back there they made the wrong turn and got lost ! LOL
It was a brand new place – three bedrooms – upstairs – two baths
downstairs – one half bath – kitchen – living room and dining room.
Nice and clean and two miles outside of Reno – our first destination.
But before this
We went first to Historical Sacramento –
Buck and Cindy
Lunch at Rio City Cafe –
Sherry had been here twice before –
She has had a conference on health here twice.
Lunch on the waterA little selfie on the river
Then we explored –
walking all over Historical downtown Sacramento
Vowing – after we spend three days in Reno
to come back here and do a night of it !
Kids in a candy storeI think they were in heaven
Now – myself – I really do not like this type of candy –
CHOCOLATE – give ME CHOCOLATE !!!
At the El Dorado Reno
And of course the casino’s –
Buck is a big fan of three card poker
Me – not so much – not sure how to place bets.
So – we did three Casino’s and ended up at the El Dorado
where I WON – $10.00 !!!
Playing video slot poker !
The ladies played the penny slots and lost
Buck would rather not talk about it ! LOL
As soon as I won – I QUIT ! LOL
Only in California do they cut a top off and use it for a trailer
Stay tuned – part two is next – we explore Lake Tahoe !
What I take every day – double dose – Omega’s by Juice Plus
A couple years ago – The Juice Plus Company introduced a new product.
” The Omega Blend + ” OMEGA’S 3 – 5- 6 – 7 – 9 .
I turn 70 years old in a couple days – and – I am doing what I can to retain memory – both short term and long term. I do not like the ” FISH TASTE” of Omega’s on the market. So when this came out – I was delighted to find out that first – there is no fish taste or after taste , and the win – win for me is it is made out of ALGAE – which is where the fish get the omega from !
I am strict on the fish I eat – no farm raised and only Salmon from North Atlantic . Mercury is a major concern for me – so ALGAE – ( they have their own Algae farms ) was the selling point !
The Omega’s 3 – 5 – 6 – 7 – 9 – Orange flavor!
Today – I feel that I am doing the most I can – writing this blog keeps my mind sharp
( after all – I am not a TECHIE – so remembering is essential in Blogging )
If you would like more information – yes my wife is a distributor and a guiding force in my life being a certified health coach – you can contact through email at her site : http://www.sf.juiceplus.com and also search the site for research – video’s and information !!!!
I hope this helps you out – I know it has helped me and by the way – the capsules do dissolve after taking them – but if you do not like swallowing capsules – you can open and sip the fluid which to me tastes like a orange creamsicle !
My thought in life – think young – smile – be involved with your grand kids – and look for the positives and let the negatives roll off your back !
Every day in my life – I look for what is funny and positive – keeping a open mind – I avoid News Channels – seeking information on my own.
I have come to maintain my healthy living style with my wife – Sherry – who is a certified Health Coach – thank goodness for that.
This June will be our 37 th. anniversary – seems like only yesterday – and next week I turn 70 and in two months she also turns 70.
In marriage as in life – compromise is a must – as is laughter – and in our case travel and family – most important to us is family. We have a close group of a few friends – trying to get together every four or five months.Since we are scattered about over a 400 mile range – sometimes that can be a little daunting.
Our family where we live consists of Five grand daughters and the newest – and only Boy ! As you can guess – he has all our hearts. Both mother’s and their mother – whom is called MORMOR ( Swede for Mother’s Mother) promote healthy living and eating. ALL are on the product called Juice Plus – as well as the Omega’s – from Algae – not fish oil – and try to be gluten free.
The oldest does not eat meat – and has signed a letter of intent to play soccer at the University of Lynchburg in Va. We have two more soccer players – a gymnastic – who all the time is doing gymnastic moves – a Equestrian – and a Ballet and Modern dancer.
They are very important to us and I can honestly say – their youth keeps us young in body and mind.
June 25 th. 1982
The years have flown by – we are now watching our grand children going off to college. But – the legacy that we brought forth almost 13 years ago – has been instilled in each and every one of them as well as their parents.
Today – we are living life to the plus one day at a time – walking 3 plus miles a day – doing shreds ( getting rid of toxins ) going dairy free and gluten as much as we can.
And – for me – sharing good thoughts – smiles and interesting family – friends and my life blogs.
My motto through life :
” Do all the small things well and they in turn will take care of the larger things ” ! Hope you enjoyed the read – HGD !!!!
We had to be at the library at 3:00 PM. on Thursday –
We had stopped at Marcus & Tammy’s to pick up library books
We had the twins and Bode –
and then it started – lightening and thunder.
Good morning
We drove the short distance –
I was going to let them all out in front of the library !
I pulled right into a space right in front of the entrance –
Then literally –
ALL HELL BROKE LOOSE !
The rains came so hard – going sideways with the wind.
It was like a fire hose had been trained on us !
Windshield wipers could not keep up.
The wind picked up – we tuned to 103 TOP news radio – DC.
Gusts of 60 MPH – torrential rain – take cover –
Then the lightening picked up –
Sherry checked her google weather app –
Instead of showing rain –
it was SOLID YELLOW LIGHTENING strikes.
The kids got scared –
the twins went to the floor in the back seat –
Bode came up front to Sherry’s lap –
We could not see out of the car for more than 10 feet!
A head light no more than 20 feet away. The car with the head light
We calmed the kids down – telling them we had rubber tires beneath us.
There was no chance of getting out and running into the library –
The lightening and thunder was continuous.
Cassidy on floor in back
Cassidy got real quiet she was so scared.
Taylor comforting Cassidy
Taylor clutched her build a bear – talking to Cassidy –
telling her not to touch metal –
we would be okay because we had tires !
Where we parked Library with roof over hang
We were parked right in front – the over hang was just across the sidewalk
What was really scary was lightening would hit –
A very loud crack and then the wind –
Bending those trees you see almost over touching the sidewalk.
The park right across the street
Legacy park was right across the street –
about a football field away –
This is a 15 acre park –
They closed it right after the storm quit
TREES WERE DOWN !
Legacy Park
Branches were everywhere – it was a mess and so close to us in the car
When it was over after almost 40 minutes –
we went inside.
It continued a soft rain –
We got home and I discovered shingles from our roof in the yard
The flag – flag pole and the bracket had been ripped right off the porch.
Small branches were everywhere
The top 12 feet of our neighbors tree came off-
and lacked the width of a finger
from going through his living room window.
On our walk this morning –
this pond came up 3 to 4 feet
and the feeder streams ares still rushing water into it.
Legacy ParkLegacy park
Less than 300 yards from where we sat in the car.
Legacy Park
Legacy Park
Some of these trees – the roots were bigger than garage doors !
We have not had much rain in the last two months –
and I think that weakened the root systems where the soil
was extremely dried out !
So much for all those in Government who say
” THERE IS NO CLIMATE CHANGE ” !
I hope you liked reading my Blog and what happened yesterday.

Sherry Certified Health Coach Maddy – College soccer taking Juice Plus for 13 years Complete Shake every day Me Nuclear Test and Sonogram last month ME – 5 1/2 years after my FOUR BY PASS completely free of any blockage cholesterol total 123
Finally – it would be warm all day – mid ’70’s – bright sunshine
Time to get outside after all the rain and cold days!
Even though we have had to stay inside from our walks
The rain has left the lawn thick and lush!
I have now mowed at least a half dozen times – seems like every 4 days
except when it rains and then I sneak it in between showers!
The side yard has really filled in – that has been my problem area
I also started two years ago – putting lime pellets down
in the fall time!
One of the outdoor Tower Gardens – the other is in the enclosed patio
It has been cold at night – high 30’s to mid 40’s –
yet with all the rain and peaks of sunshine – it is growing!
We decided this year LESS IS MORE in planting flowers!
99 % of the greens you see – flower and come up each year
except the green bushes !
So we decided to POT this year with flowers
with three or four in the flower beds
and the rest in the enclosed patio.
It takes me 60 minutes with a push lawn mower
trimming included and weed whacker
to mow the lawn
a few people tell me they no longer do this
but I enjoy it !
It is a form of exercise for me – almost 5000 steps!
And I get the feeling of something I have created
and see the results of all that I have planted in the 14 years!
All of this I have planted by hand and cultivated.
I only wish this bush would look like this all summer
but – after it blooms it loses it petals
and new leaves are formed along with getting larger.
The grass is so soft and spongy like
almost as if you are walking on a carpet.
I have a lawn company called Bio-Turf
for four years now –
and they do a terrific job.
Six different times they come to the house each year
and do all the spreading – plugging – and seeding and lime spreading
VERY HAPPY WITH THEM!
The pot to the right is all MINT and you can smell it as you walk up the bank the enclosed brick area is my strawberries and last year and this year my Potato’s
Our first rose of the year – with many more to come
they will bloom – go away and later in the summer bloom again
The three Swedish horses that Maddy – Ella and Sarah made for us
It seems only yesterday – Florida – family vacations –
and WHEN THEY WERE YOUNG!
After 40 days – your mind tends to wander a bit.
You put puzzles together
for me under 500 pieces and must be
RAVEN BURGER!
You walk around the house a lot
and you look at pictures on the walls
Your wife digs out the old photo books
and you stop each time you pass the bedroom
where they sit piled neatly stacked on the bed.
All those years ago Debby and Tammy
The memories come flooding back
the trips to church for youth group
the after school pickups for cheerleading
and basketball and soccer.
The stops at the cider mill for doughnuts and apple cider
the ice cream store
A little town and a neighborhood of close friends
Still to this day we keep in touch!
Upper right Jim and Dottie friends since we played softball I attended their wedding some 40 years ago Lower left Mike and Carol neighbors for 12 1/2 years playing jokes on each other Lower right Buck and Cindy neighbors and friends for almost 40 years traveling the world together
Now – the girls are grown with families of their own
The three oldest grand daughters now 19 – 16 and 13 soon to be 20 – 17 & 14! Maddy – Ella & Sarah
You wander the house – looking at pictures while sheltering in place
You need a repairman for the fridge – the ice still works
but no water for cups – barely two years old.
It is time for the maint. on the air conditioners
you have a contract plan
the dryer is squeaking
all part of being a home owner.
Before the virus the three little ones 9 – 9 & 5 soon they will be 10 – 10 & 6 Cassidy – Bode and Taylor
40 days and counting – you watch the news – read the paper
your 401 K is way down
yet – you go on –
memories of times gone by
What was abnormal now is the norm
But through all of this – one constant remains
Sunday mornings – you sit at your kitchen table
and at 10 am. the live stream begins
Church is still there
God – if you are a believer
is still there – you pray and give thanks
you donate through the app
you still see the help we provide for those less fortunate
40 days Sheltering
Yes – it has been a long time –
a time to reflect – a time to think –
and a time to know your inner strength comes from
FAMILY – CHURCH – FRIENDS & PRAYERS
Sheltering in place social distancing Sherry & Tom
I saw a post that stated ” GRAND PARENTS REMAIN YOUNG ” while watching their grand kids ! Boy – that was right on !
As most of you know – Sherry and I – pick up the twins from school -bring them home until their father picks up the youngest ( only boy grandchild) and then stops to pick up the twins !
Tammy opened her store almost one year ago – Kids consignment store – which is open every day except Monday 10 am. – 5 pm.
So – they needed help and we stepped in along with Marcus’s parents Jennie and Gehard. Since Bode’s preschool is close to them – they pick him up at 1:00 pm. and then Marcus goes after work to pick him up.
Now I must say – I really enjoy my little trip to the school – a little over one mile away. “PAPA – BE FIRST IN LINE ” is what they tell me. Well – even though I am in line one hour before they get out – most times I am second !!! That person must get there after breakfast !But – I use that time to listen and read !
Listening to my favorite radio station – not classic rock or country or rap or whatever else is out there – but ” SPORTS RADIO” 106.7 The Fan! I enjoy kicking back – using a couple wadded up blankets – for a pillow – and just spacing out listening to the talk show. This relaxes me and yes sometime I catch a quick 10 minute power nap ! When I was working – I used my lunch – one hour – every day to do the same thing ! Habits are hard to break !
But – I also listen to these two little girls – talking – conversing and sometimes a argument breaks out ! Now at that time I either look back and tell them to stop or I turn up the radio so loud – that they become silent ! LOL But I find they actually talk so much like adults – on their own daily lives.
Being with them makes me feel young at heart – relating to them – and oh my goodness – the questions are endless – and” WHY” is always asked.
But – then it gets adult like with the answer ” OF COURSE ” or ” ACTUALLY ” or “PAPA” ! I love that – and it makes you think when you answer the “WHY” !
” WHY ARE YOU NUMBER TWO AND NOT NUMBER ONE ” ? I get that one almost every week ! But – how can you argue the fact that life is about staying young even though it might only be a frame of mind !
Turn back time – can’t – capture thoughts words and deeds in pictures – you can – but staying young is a art that we all try to master.
Mine is a matter of mind over physical – thinking – acting and doing! I may not be number one in line but I think I try harder at being number two – after all – “PAPA – WHY AREN’T YOU NUMBER ONE ” keeps me on my toes each week to give a answer and that my friends keeps me young !
The twins gravitate toward their cousin Sarah – Bode – his idol is Ella.
It has been this way ever since he could walk and talk. ” Is Ella going to be there ” ? he will ask. Ella is our second oldest grand daughter – who will turn 16 this July. Bode is our youngest gran child
and the only boy out of SIX ! He turns FIVE in November . As you can see here – he absolutely adores her. ” Ella – you want to play “? he asks.
Both have been brought up eating Healthy – as have all the grand kids. That is priority number one for their parents – even though they both are cousins – it runs in the family.
This was taken before Ella’s soccer game and during her older sister’s game. Both play – Maddy is the starter on Midfield – varsity and Ella starts as midfielder on the J.V. team.
The varsity is 8 wins 2 loses & 1 tie.
The J.V. are 7 wins 1 loss & 3 ties.
Very proud of these two and Maddy signed a Letter Of Intent to play soccer at The University of Lynchburg in Va. We will make trips to watch her play.
Bode loves his cousin and she in turn choose to sit with him prior to her game – she has the biggest heart and to see them was priceless.
We all practice living to the plus – being together – and supporting one another. This is but one more day in PAPA’S WORLD .
As the days pass we see new things helping out people from a distance
ZOOM – which Sherry has been using since it first
appeared – for her network business in The Juice Plus Company.
Now – there is the weekly “HENS PARTY”
A group that has met the last couple years or so
onec a week for lunch and a movie.
Now it is a once a week ZOOM PARTY!
Of course you do not get all dressed up no make up hats – drinks and lots of laughs
Now – we await our second “FRIENDS ZOOM” on Friday nights
for “HAPPY HOUR”!
There are four couples – who have been friends for I guess 33 years & more!
So – we decided to “ZOOM” and it was new to them!
But – a happy hour with fireballs – some beer and Vodka & Tonics.
First one was themed
HATS & SUNGLASSES
Not sure what this one will be
But it turned into a THREE HOUR HAPPY HOUR!
It has been peaceful at home we walk – ride our bikes and take long country back roads rides.
We are trying to keep it as normal as we can.
Once a week we select a different vendor or eatery
and order for pickup or curbside
to help support them in this time of need
to keep them going – a little bit of ourselves to them
Since I am not allowed to do laundry seems I do not know what to put where I fold ( sometimes) and put my own clothes away I do the outside mowing – trimming in the SUNSHINE!
Family – this is the hardest for us – we are near the three youngest
The three oldest are a hour and half away
and they are in the age group now where they mostly do their own thing
19 – 16 & 13 – soon all three will have birthdays
Then the younger three – twins – 9 years old
and the youngest and only boy 5 years old
Bode – MorMor – Taylor & Cassidy Each night like clock work Cassidy calls her MorMor and Bode – whom hangs on every movement she does – Taylor – who is old before her day and talks to her MorMor
It is the hardest with these three –
but we have done FAMILY ZOOMS
and have seen them from a distance
laughing – ZOOMING the three oldest in their yard
and of course all the family at the same time
This has been the hard part for us
See – we are a family unit – constantly staying in touch
So the sign read & I had no idea who laid it on the porch!
Then Sherry got the text from a friend of hers
whom she networks with!
Just as I brought it inside –
She had left it and wanted to make sure we knew
before the high winds took it away!
Sherry and Papa
In all this Sheltering in place –
DAY# 31 to be exact for us –
The unexpected seems to become the norm.
Sherry class of ’67 Smethport H.S. NWPA
We have been saving newspapers for who I call
“THE CAT LADY” simply because she recuses stray cats!
Every two weeks during this time
we load the car with the paper bags
and drive the 8 miles to her house.
Where we take them and sit on her front porch
and then text her that they are there.
We also have been delivering to friends the face masks that Sherry has been sewing along with other personal items all the while never coming in contact with people staying yards and yards away.
This past Saturday – we drove 45 minutes to meet our oldest daughter
and one of the grand daughters
to give them our extra Tower Garden!
We have THREE producing and they had one.
Now – they will have two with one outside!
Tom (Papa) class of ’67 Otto – Eldred H.S. NWPA
I have found that in these times
The abnormal has now become the normal.
When we met up – Ella stayed in the car waving.
I transferred everything and we stayed a car length apart.
That was hard – but on the upside-
We had been in a quandary over how to buy our outdoor flowers
as we did not want to mix with people.
The abnormal has become the normal
The place we met – has flowers and only two shoppers were there.
Plus it was set up where you could not go inside to pay
We were able to select our flats of flowers
pay without getting close to anyone
and load them into the car!
EVERYONE LOVES YOU #inthistogether
As one gives – one receives – humanity practicing social distancing
Here we are – social distancing – sheltering in place –
searching google places we can buy food – SENIORS ONLY!
Our new way to ride our bikes and to take our daily walks on the 18 miles of trails we have social distancing giving wide berths and crossing streets to avoid people when possible
What has become a new norm – all in less than a months time!
Our motto has become this.
We have become puzzle experts –
Netflix bingeing on series!
Our way of still practicing Palm Sunday
Church now is live streamed
and we attend that way.
Our Tower Garden in the garage with grow lights
We will begin to harvest this coming weekend
The other two outside with all the vines and bigger vegetables
Today I read in the paper – Mega Church considering holding service
in Tampa Florida!
After the pastor had been arrested and the Goveernor issued
stay at home!
And I wonder why he had the TWO SERVICES he did?
This past week – we finally after two weeks had to go to the store
for PRODUCE!!!!
We had diminished our stock and it will not keep!
We eat a lot of produce and our growing season outside
with the Tower Gardens begins this week
But you never know about freezes.
So – last week we started our Tower Garden inside the garage
where we had it until we went away for the month of February!
The new Tower Garden in the garage with the grow lights.
One week of growth and we should have one more week
and we can start cutting off for salads!
This new unit – comes on a reduced base – 20 gallons to 13 gallons
of water – a float to tell you when to refill
and the grow lights with a built in timer!
We have it set for day time light and then dark at night
to let the plants rest!
There also is a timer for the pump –
and we have that set at 15 minutes on and 15 minutes off!
Mostly leafy vegetables inside we have two set up outside for our peppers- tomato’s and cucumbers and large things such as celery – eggplant- squash etc.
Going to the store is nerve wracking –
wanting to get in and out asap!
But – after the two weeks – we had to go.
Here – they have senior hour – 7 to 8 am.
You must show a ID – but maybe 30 people are in the whole store!
A lot better than the crowds and less stressful.
I hope all is well stay safe and stress free and also that this article helps you know the alternative to shopping and for more information http://www.sf.juiceplus.com My wife is a distributor of both The TOWER GARDEN And Juice Plus a whole food of plants fruits – vegetables & berries in a capsule or gummy’sSherry Senior Sales Coordinator Juice Plus Company
To let you know – I write and schedule these blogs ahead of time!
So – today we are now into our fourth day of SOCIAL DISTANCING!
And – we are doing okay – it has it effect more so on Sherry
than on me!
One of the ways to walk on the paths that we have close to us over 15 miles of different paths that we have!
Sherry is the one who moves the most
the one who inspires me to move!
So – we decided that we could and would walk
and still keep our distance from other people!
The paths are wide –
enough so that you can pass and stay at least
eight feet away or more!
Once we leave the street we begin our walk through the trees – bush and grass areas!
This path was almost three miles long
and had we not taken a short cut –
it would of been over three miles!
When leaves are out this becomes very shaded and cooler in the hot summer!
Our walk takes us through many wooden areas
and toward the very large pond!
At this point we can choose to walk the left side of the pond or cross this bridge and walk the right side of the pond!
Both left or right go completely around the pond
and there are birds – turtles and fish to be seen.
In the distance was the only person we saw that was walking the same direction as us!
Here you can see a row of houses to the right –
and we are headed toward the new
over 55 community
that is still being built!
In the far left distance is a section of over 55 communityThe community gets closer this is but a small part and I would say they are a good two or more years before they are built out!To the right are the townhouses four stories with elevators! And directly ahead the huge community center! The over 55 community center with both indoor and outdoor pools!Looking back from the direction from the way we had come and the housing on the left side of the pond path! These are all new saw several of these owls I suppose to keep the geese at bay!
The pond is up – although we have not had hard rains
but slow gentle ones!
I noticed these owls which before December
were not here!
Past the new what I call Brownstones!
We decided instead of continuing on the pond path
To walk the sidewalk past the over 55 Brownstones!
Notice no traffic on the highway! This is a four lane road with 40 MPH or faster and always full of traffic so much that we sometimes wait five minutes to see traffic decrease so we can cross!
I hope this shows just how a walk
can break that time spent inside during this time!
One of our adventures- Sherry Fitzsimmons – Cindy North McBride – William McBride and Tom Fitzsimmons on the inter coastal water way off North Carolina.
For the last 12 years – we have taken trips together – every other year in most cases.
We have been to Spain – Gibraltar – Morocco – we have toured N.H. – Mass. and Maine. We have been to the Niagara Falls , Ontario Canada wine region – tasting wine and brews !
We have revisited our roots back in NWPA and SWNY – playing a week of golf on the courses we played years and years ago. You see – we were neighbors and friends 37 years ago ! Then they moved South to N.C. and later we transferred South to NVA – all the while staying in close contact – visiting on vacations.
On Turtle Bay Oahu
We have visited Oahu together- covering the whole island in 10 days.
Playing golf in the mountains close to where they filmed Jurassic Park. We have stayed at their house in N.C. and played the courses around them.
Buck ( William ) and Tom riding the inter coastal water way.
We are planing and talking future trips – ( IRELAND ) back to our ancestors. Maybe a trip to Nashville – and my thoughts on Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg Tenn. with a log cabin in the mountains !
Buck and Cindy in Oahu .
Now – we have committed to a trip out West – the far West as in Northern California – a drive and stay trip for 7 or 8 days ! Making our list pf places to see and when we get together – piecing all the information down – getting excited !
On the beach in North Shore Oahu.
We have now been retired for 7 years ( Sherry ) 6 years me. Sherry had a sales job ( outside ) – all of NVA – for the company she worked for for 32 years. The traffic and day to day stress was more than enough – so she started a part time job through The Juice Plus Company. When it grew – she decided at which point it was large enough to retire. At age 63 – she did it !
Today – we are able to both be retired – and will be celebrating – in the next two months – our birthdays – the big 70 !!!!
Back in NWPA- Sherry’s home – the Knizua via duct – bridge.
Red woods – Napa valley – Reno – Lake Tahoe – Sequoia’s – San Francisco – Alcatraz – Yosemite – Sonoma – Berkley – Glamping –
Just some of the things on our list – we shall see and compare. Close friends through all these years – still trying to get our other close friends to take a trip with us.
At Vanish Brewery near our home in NVA – October fest !
Where ever we go – when ever we go – there are laughs – there are adventures and sometimes golf ( we give no strokes as they are too good )
Sherry and Cindy – always something with their phones!
These two will always laugh and make us laugh – that is why we get along so well. Later this Summer – another road trip – to Northern California. A trip worth waiting for – another adventure in the making.
Stay tuned – waiting – excited – and NO STROKES – they should give us strokes! LOL
They asked to sleep over as soon as we returned home from Florida!
But first – a trip to Trader Joe’s! Taylor – who is going to be very tall! Cassidy – and Bode whom look like they should be twins!
The arrangements made – the bed of foam and blankets on the floor
in our bedroom – all three will not sleep elsewhere!
The older three – only Maddy – the oldest will sleep
in another bedroom!
The arrival bags shoes – boots and stuffed animals
They would spend the night – and next morning –
get them ready for early church and Sunday school!

On the entrance to the beach just South of the old historical Saint Augustine!
We stopped at a red light and Sherry said
“Lets turn right here & see if we can see the ocean”!
Well – it happened to be the access road to the beach
and this bar sat right there on the left hand side!
The Beachcomber Bar and eatery had fantastic fresh caught RED SHRIMP! Very large steamed and peel! Along with a honey IPA!
We had no idea but it was time to stop
for a bite to eat!
Come to find out – both Debby and Tammy had been here.
Along with some friends of ours
and other friends said they also were going to stop!
It also happened to be the entrance to the beach and where you pay to drive on the beach there was a very small parking lot mostly for the Beachcomber and a guy sat on a camp chair directing people into and out of the lot
The shrimp were extra large
steamed and peel – with melted butter and hot sauce dip!
The beach street is called “A ST” And all the rules and directions to follow
While we sat outside – a lot of cars- trucks etc.
came and went in and out!
We actually ordered a half pound
and it was so good we ordered seconds!
Looking back from the beach to the entrance and the Beachcomber
