A look from the front hallway into the vaulted ceiling living room – to the sunroom and beyond to the open patio.

We wanted open living – being able to see all who are visiting!

And – we wanted LIGHT – FILLED rooms!

Here is the aforementioned rooms along with parts of the kitchen and breakfast nook!

Beyond the breakfast nook is the covered – screened in lanai.

I spend a lot of time out there with the ceiling fan going!

The Kitchen – not real big but comfortable for the two of us to work the same time in!

Seating for four at the island and seating for six at the table with out the extra leaf!

Vaulted ceilings give a feeling of being open and large.

We wanted family to be able to visit – so in the next picture is the Sunroom – with a queen sized pull out sofa!

And we wanted the light to come in from outside!

The patio is directly behind these windows and to the left is the lanai!

Looking out of the lanai to the patio – the tree line is protected and will not be cut down!

This hutch was hand made by Sherry’s father Bill before he passed away.

Papa’s World – our new home – finally – we have the inside almost done – homeless no more!

Welcome to our new home – after a year – we have moved in!

I have had this CLOWN picture since 1973!

I traded for this picture with my brother – Roger – and I rather like it – but the girls always were afraid of it!

So – on this move – I put him up in the garage over my work area with my tools! LOL

And by his side – a painting a Union rep. friend of mine did while negoatiating a union contract in 1982!

Both – hold dear memories for me.

Welcome to our front porch – we have had all the pine straw removed – and replaced with black mulch.

The three Swedish horses were made as presents for us by he oldest granddaughters!

They even cast the concrete!

The front hallway – with the guests bedrooms and bath to the right – and what we both wanted – the office to the left.

The last year we have had to do all our office routines from a table or counter top after selling our home.

We had a home office there – Sherry has a home business – needing a desk top – telephone –

WIFI – INTERNET and storage for files.

Me – I used the downstairs breakfast table and later the kitchen table in the condo as did Sherry.

We both have desks in here – hers to the left – mine to the right – just like our political natures! LOL

Actually – I am the middle of the road – independent!

But now – I have space – desk and filing system for my daily blog articles!

She in turn has files – printer – desk – computer – WIFY – internet – our phones – and ROOM!

The second bathroom – between the two guest bedrooms.

Our old house was almost 3100 sf. on two floors – we did not need all that room – but still enough for family.

And we wanted in our autumn years – one level – and easy access!

The office is big enough to put a blow up queen mattress on the floor –

The sunroom has a pull out queen sized couch – matress –

and the master bedroom has a twin sized pull out mattress!

The house is just over 1900 heated space with a enclosed – covered screened in lanai.

You actually could put a blow up single on the floor there.

This is the third house we have built from ground up – each has been different – but each has our thoughts and ideas

at the time of the build – some we have carried forward – others not – evolving as we grow older.

Papa’s World – birthday dinner with Sherry at Sharkey’s – Ocean Isle Beach!

The sunrise on Sherry’s birthday – 7-5 looking like a wonderful day.

Before we celebrated I said ” YOU READ ME THE DIRECTIONS” and I will follow – three hours later we were done!

We decided to go to Sharky’s just off the causeway bridge to Ocean Isle Beach with views of the little harbor and ICW!

This is just outside of Sharky’s – sheriffs dock and ramp. Sherry did not know NO TRESS-PASSING until I spotted it!

The wait was not long and the view was boats coming and going – refueling or picking up to go dinners!

This is what she wanted for her birthday dinner – fish tacos!

It was a very good day – from unpacking to putting the first of two desks together for our home office

She selected where she wanted to go and being so close – 8 minute drive – and then after – a short walk on the sand of the beach at Ocean Isle Beach –

We are but 15 minutes to another beach SUNSET BEACH!

Last morning sunrise – 6-30-21 – view from the Lanai – OCEAN KEYES – NMB

Everymorning – when we wake up – me really early – Sherry – laying in bed to open her eyes and see this.

We – for nine months – have been blessed – staying – walking – listening to the surf – all from this condo.

A selfie on the lanai – and how our hearts and souls feel.

One last beach walk – wading in the warm ocean water – me carrying my shoes – the numerous tidal pools

people sitting in them -a look at the North Myrtle Beach proper – widest beach on the strand – walking –

comfort – the people -we will be back for it is but thirty minute drive for us.

After the beach walk – once again sitting on the lanai – awesome view – going to miss this!

When we return – I sit on the rocking chair on the lanai – or at the table – watching the water fowl –

seeing the huge fish from above and the endless turtles.

The otter that comes to swim and even a snake or two swimming –

No gators have I seen and was told there is none.

Swans come and go and at the far end – three white ducks I have named Huey – Dewey and Lewie.

Walking to the fridge and claiming the last German Pils – just for this occasion – salute!

It has been a memorable nine months – meeting people -having numerous family and friends visit us here.

Walking to the main street and all the live music both outside and inside.

The golf carts – the tourists and the six swimming pool here.

The pickle ball courts – the tennis courts – the work out room and the community center –

It is but a small piece of heaven -but it is heaven on earth.

The years have come and gone – me the serious one – she the smiling one – together – we make one!

One leading the way – one guiding the way!

We did not meet on – line – nor in line – we are old – we were young – still the same !

We have had the best – and the best is yet to come!

Yes – she hit it that far – does she beat me? YES! Do I care? NO!

Through the years – many adventures – many moves and many memories!

The early years are gone – the middle years came and went – but what remains is our beliefs – in each other and the World around us!

Respect – admiration – challenges – ideals and courage. I believe as she believes – in each other.

The sun rises each day on this marriage – 39 years worth – it never gets dull!

He quietly came down the carpeted stairs –

and walked softly over to me where I was writing my blog.

Bode – six years old – our only boy – five grand daughters!

“How many sleeps are left Papa – before you go away”? he asked.

You see – every morning when we stay with them – before 6 am. down he comes.

“Will you walk to the bus stop with me Papa”?

He started a week ago going to actual school twice a week.

Three days at home virtual learning!

Bode – walking to the bus stop with Papa – MorMor and Daddy!

Two sleeps I answered and yes I will walk with you!

” I LOVE YOU PAPA”!

The twins – Cassidy and Taylor – have been in virtual learning the entire time

Making the choice not to go back to school –

They are thriving and doing really well!

Cassidy and Taylor – twins – ten years old – at Taylor’s desk in the basement near our room.

They both are in the basement only in different rooms –

they help each other out – Cassidy will always go to Taylor if she does not understand!

I had no idea what the glasses were for – but was told –

“They are BLUE GLASSES Papa – to protect your eyes from the screen on the chrome book”!

WOW – they look so old in them!

Bode – leading the way to the bus stop – love his back pack!

He told us he liked school – does not know how many are in his class –

Does not know how many boys or how many girls are in his class!

” But Papa , I am the fastest one in my class”!

BODE RUNNING TO THE BUS STOP – I UNDERSTAND WHY HE IS THE FASTEST!

It has gone by so fast – the day they were married.

It seems like only yesterday –

now fast forward – and three beautiful daughters later

They still adventure out and into the mountains

be it camping – hiking or compete in a obstacle course together!

Tough mudder or Spartan race!

The family has grown – one in college( playing soccer) – Maddy.

One a senior and attending college in the fall and also playing soccer ( Ella)

And the third youngest still in H.S. Freshman – aspiring in arts and dance. (Sarah)

Three beautiful daughters!

They love the outdoors – hiking – zip lines – camping – lakes – swimming.

When they were young – all smiles – family.

Father and daughter – camping and hiking!

Father and daughter – teaching soccer to her.

Through the years – teaching them about life –

Mother – although she now looks up to Ella – leading her by example!

Once a Buffalo Bills fan always a Bills fan!

Papa’s World – The years of our life together – now building a house!

While we differ on many issues – the one thing that brings us together is being friends – the other is love and finally understanding and respect – admiration and equality!

1981 – was our first date – 16 months later – we married.

FRIENDS – then and still today – my best friend.

LOVE – forty years later – still love each other.

UNDERSTANDING AND RESPECT – she smiles – often – she laughs often –

She understands me – guides me – I get lost! lol

I respect her – guide when I am able –

She in turn respects my thoughts – cares and understandings.

ADMIRATION AND EQUALITY – two aspects that I have based my life on.

Both of these two are leaders – mother and daughter – SSC and QMND – The Juice Plus Company.

Home based business done over the internet – no inventory – just take a order – submit – everything

Today we have started building a new home – in Ocean Isle Beach – N.C.

We – one year ago – had no thoughts of doing this – both are in our early ’70’s.

We have been busy – planning – buying furniture to be delivered – as we had sold all of ours!

We will miss this view – but – we have enjoyed it for nine months! MEMORIES!

Today we continue our journey – in a couple months we will celebrate 39 years of marriage.

Papa’s World – A visit by the Jones – family time and exploring!

Kristie – Maya – Olivia – Casey Jones – Sherry’s niece and family from N.C.

We had visitors for the weekend – from N.C. around three hours away.

Daughter and family of Sherry’s sister.

The little ones were so excited – to finally be able to go somewhere

all due to the pandemic.

We tested – they rested and everything was good.

We only had one full day to explore – so we took them to Vareen Memorial Garden.

To hike and gather shells.

We also hit the beach for a short walk but it was windy and cold.

Searching for shells along the ICW – they even felt the water! LOL

Inside “WICKED TUNA” by the pier – Myrtle Beach , S.C.

We had been out shopping for furniture and were down in this area

by the Boardwalk on the Grand Strand.

We decided to stop back in –

and it was so windy and cold – we stopped our walk and went back to the car

and drove here instead of walking!

On a warmer day – some days are warm and coat less – others – you just do not want to walk!

Looking back toward the boardwalk of Myrtle Beach – note the flags – wind blowing!

We had purchased furniture and needed to plan our second stop!

We had been here before and enjoyed it!

When we went in – we were the only people there!

We had the whole place to ourselves!

The view we had from our table – the pier – deserted and no one on the beach!

Papa’s World – our ever changing life at Ocean Keyes -North Myrtle Beach, S.C.

Our dining room – living room – double entrance to the Lanai – and the water beyond!

We first rented this for three months – not knowing where we would be.

Then in November – after six weeks of house hunting –

We decided it was just as cost effective to build!

You see – in our price range – we found a lot of houses – condo’s

But each one we liked – there had to be things done!

When you are like me – this can happen! LOL

We could do these things – but it would take time and money.

Plus – another cost was to furnish it!

We sold almost all our furniture – and you can not just hire someone

Most will put you on a list!

Playing a game while eating dinner on the Lanai!

So – we extended our time here – and found a building development

one half hour away into N.C. – close to two beaches for our walks and company

And made our selections – everything we wanted and still in our price range.

What we will be doing off and on until our house is built! Ocean Keyes – North Myrtle Beach – S.C.

We will be here until the end of June!

Our house is suppose to be finished by the end of May!

That will give us time to get our stored stuff moved down here

and Sherry does what she loves to do – SHOP!

My inspiration to write-

“YOU HAVE TO PUT THESE SOMEWHERE THAT WE CAN FIND THEM”!

Thus was born my blog.

And as of today – around 340 blogs are stored there!

I have always wanted to write – even though I can not spell!

And I struggle with English Comp.

But – I find just putting my thoughts into words

and posting pictures – a way for future generations

to read and see what our life was like.

I wish my parents had been able to do this.

I write about family – journeys – friends –

past memories from childhood ( before they are lost forever)

about daily happenings – a diary of sorts.

He was also my friend – close – and my boyhood hero.

The person in my life I love the most.

We have been together for over 39 years – married 38 years.

Writing a bolg is simple and easy for me.

I love to tell the story.

Last year we hosted the movie and – TV and stage star Ronny Cox

best known for the movie Deliverance.

His songs are stories – some made up – other true

and some a little bit of both.

He told me ” I AM A STORY TELLER”!

And so am I!

The many professions she has held in all these years.

The respect of her peers – the leadership – she is the one

they all came to for advice – skill and being capable

to accomplish whatever she set out to do.

The grand children adore her

The daughters respect and follow her.

To these three – the youngest – it is MORMOR!

Bode – Taylor ( who I think will be taller than her) & Cassidy

Her grandmother immigrated from Sweden –

The proud heritage passed down through her mother

herself and her daughters to the grand kids.

They all seem to have inherited being tall like her

5′ 9″ to be exact.

Sarah – Debby – Sherry – Maddy & Ella

So far Ella has come the closest at 5′ 8 1/2 “

But I see Sarah and Taylor catching her and beyond.

She is my soulmate – my mentor and the reason I live today.

We have been married 38 years.

Today is her birthday –

and we have started a brand new adventure together

We have bought and sold FIVE homes together

And now we are free of ownership

Free to travel where we want

and no worries of a house – taxes or HOA!

So – today – to you my love – HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

The road awaits us – another dream begins –

and one more birthday is here

but you continue to amaze me – you are just as beautiful

as the day we were married.

Each morning I arise – believe it or not – I have NO IDEA what I will blog!

Inspiration just comes –

it might be something I experienced –

Something I saw

or maybe read while going through my emails and face book.

Good advice – being married for almost 37 years –

( yes – I know the date – time and place )

We are each others best friend –

but I always follow one rule –

” IT IS NOT FOR ME TO QUESTION WHY ? BUT FOR ME TO DO OR DIE ! “

WHEN YOU FIND THE ONE – KEEP ON TRYING – YOU FOUND A KEEPER

Staying young and involved –

this only happens once – live it !

In my younger years –

before I met Sherry –

I was a little wild –

I rode for 6 years – had long hair –

( QUITE CURLY ) like CARROT TOP !

Couldn’t help it – just natural curly –

but I had a accident – and decided it was time to get off and move on.

I have found that my everyday life is most enjoyable

and rewarding when I mix in our young grand kids .

Watching them grow –

and each different –

Taylor loves horses and someday I see her competing!

We walk together – we talk –

as we walk – going along the path –

I am now in the – what shall I say –

Autumn of life –

but I LIVE each day

So – every day I wake up –

not knowing what it shall bring

Not knowing what my blog will be –

But I do know this –

no matter what STORM CLOUDS

are about in this country –

I shall live my life to the plus each and every day –

With my best friend – living life to the plus –

never knowing what I shall write –

Makes me do –

What comes natural – one day at a time!
