The day we were married – 6-25-1982!
We each had been married before.
Sherry had two young daughters ( Debby and Tammy) –
And I had two young sons (Troy and Shawn).
We blended the family together –
And lived way out in the country –
That was the start of a marriage –
That back then we had no money.
Back to front –
Jim and Dottie.
I grew up in Eldred with them, and I played softball with Jim.
I went to their wedding way back in the 70s.
Jim also worked for American Olean Tile, as did Sherry and I!
Then there is Sherry, followed by Buck and Cindy!
They were friends with Jim and Dottie –
We occasionally saw them –
Then in the late 80s-
We sold our house in the country –
And moved to Pleasant Acres Drive-
Right across the street from Cindy and Buck!
We became closer friends and neighbors.
We all raised our children together –
And vacationed together.
Cindy and Buck and Sherry and I –
Have traveled the world together.
Jim and Dottie now live in North Carolina, as do the four of us.
We still all try to gather at one another’s home for long weekends!
FRIENDS!
Papa, Sherry, Elaine, and Steve.
They became our friends also, and we played co-ed volleyball with them for years.
We also raised our children together.
Having dinners at each other’s homes – picnics and social gatherings!
They have been to visit us and just recently relocated to the Lynchburg, Va. area to be close to their children and grandkids.
Back in those Portville, N.Y. years –
We all played golf.
And later we played Girls vs Guys scrambles.
They always wanted strokes, but it could only be a few because even up, they would almost beat us!
Those volleyball years –
16-team league – and competitive-
You always had to be on guard, or you would get spiked in the head.
One year we won our division!
FRIENDS!
Bob and Pam ( PJ) –
Bob and I went to grade school and graduated together from Otto-Eldred H.S. and lived in Eldred, PA.
Childhood holds many memories for us both.
This is also a second marriage for them. Twenty-plus years.
They retired and went on a 6 1/2 year journey criss-crossing the country, towing a car behind their RV!
East to West Coast and North to South.
We lost contact other than class reunions, and about 10 to fifteen years ago renewed it!
This past year, they leased a home near us.
And now they are trying to sell their condo in N.H. and deciding where to settle.
RV life may be the past.
Time will tell –
But these past few years we have gotten together and golfed!
Relived those memories of growing up.
We hope they settle down near us.
Only time will tell!
Dottie – Cindy and Sherry –
A lot of funny memories and good times are here.
Our lives have been good, and I would not change them!
FRIENDS have always been a part of that life.
We are blessed!
Buck and Cindy – Papa, Carol, Mike, and Sherry.
Carol and Mike were also our neighbors.
We played many a joke on one another.
Today, they have sold that home – built a new one –
And still live in WNY.
Owning and operating a nationwide painting company –
Traveling the country painting and contracting for gas and oil lines.
They recently visited Buck and Cindy, and we all got together.
They also own a home on a lake.
Cindy, Papa, Sherry, and Carol on the back of their boat cruising that huge WNY lake.
