Papa’s World – Looking back to the past!

Back in the early to mid-90s-

Sherry and I worked with Adam –

I worked for Adam as a Process Facilitator.

Sherry was a supervisor in the Mounting Department.

We got to know Peggy, his wife –

And Adam worked at the Olean Plant for about a year and a half.

In this picture are Adam, Peggy, and Sherry-

On the main street of North Myrtle Beach, S.C.

Adam and Peggy spend a week on vacation here each year.

Peggy is from this area of S.C.

We have gotten together when they are here and spend a day in conversation and memories-

From our time at American Olean Tile-Dal Tile in Olean, N.Y.

When Sherry and I came to S.C. looking for a house to buy-

We stayed a half mile from the main street of North Myrtle Beach for nine months.

During that time, we had a house built in Ocean Isle Beach in N.C., sixteen miles away.

We still come here to walk and see the SHAG SOS events that happen every 3 to 4 months!

THE SHAG is a national dance that has been around since the 40’s and started here.

It is a dance that combines many dance moves, and seldom do you lose contact with your partner.

Carolina Beach Music was born here, and even Alabama had a hit song-

“SHAGGING ON THE BOULVARD to top the country charts

They started out in Myrtle Beach.

We sat outside an ice cream place called THE MELT-

Just a few stores from FAT HAROLDS and across the street from DUCKS!

FAT HAROLDS has been here for over 60 years, and it is like walking back into the past when you go through-

The front doors look like a giant JUKE BOX!

It is here where national contests are held for both senior and junior SHAG competitions nationwide.

North Myrtle Beach is known as the SHAG CAPITAL OF THE WORLD!

Our time spent with Adam and Peggy is a memory of times gone by!

Adam is a big problem solver and a consultant for companies nationwide in Process Improvements.

Asked if retirement is in the immediate future-

“NO WAY” – I am having too much fun!
