Papa’s World – Surviving a WIDOW MAKER HEART ATTACK – 56 hours after open-heart surgery!

Sherry and Papa – this Valentine’s day.

All my life up to 16 years ago – I was a junk food addict!

I thought I was fit – playing sports until my late 40’s!

I ate all the time at McDonald’s – then something changed my life.

Sherry went to NBC for your health in Washington D.C.

I also went to the food court!

That is where she found a supplement that changed both our lives.

At first, I denied I needed it – then three months later I started to take it-

FRUITS AND VEGGIES AND BERRIES – JUICED – DRIED TO POWDER AND PUT IN CAPSULES!

NUTRIENTS OF 30 DIFFERENT KINDS EACH DAY!

It slowly over the years changed my life – I felt better – BUT – unknown to me – I had damaged my heart

from all those years ( 40 plus ) eating junk food and drinking cokes – mountain dew and gallons of milk.

I thought that was good for me.

EIGHT YEARS AFTER I STARTED ON THE SUPPLEMENT – I had a WIDOWMAKER HEART ATTACK!

FOUR ARTERIES INVOLVED – I almost did not make it!

I was rushed from work to the hospital where I had one artery 100 % blocked –

They put a stent in and the PAIN went away – but I was told I had three more that needed to be done!

It was too dangerous – I would have to have an open heart and four by-passes!

ONE WEEK BEFORE CHRISTMAS!

All this time I never missed a day of my supplements – even when I went into the hospital.

Over 40 published types of research from major institutions from all over the world – convinced me that I was doing something right and not to give it up!

So – on a Monday morning – at 7:30 AM – they started – by 3:00 pm. they closed me up!

At 5:30 pm. they called my wife and daughters.

By 6:30 pm. I was standing!

I never went to the step down – I went straight to my room –

And I was told by the nurses and doctors I was the healthiest heart patient they had ever seen!

They wanted me to do an interview for some kind of research but I declined.

Here I am – 56 hours later standing in front of the Christmas tree – I was home!

I had a 100% – 90% – 60% and 40% blockages. I walked the halls in less than 20 hours –

Everyone told me they had no one like that – I went home and the other people who had surgery

that day were still in the step-down units.

Sherry and Papa – I had a nuke stress test late Jan. I passed with an excellent grade.

I just had all my blood tests – everything was very good – I STILL TAKE MY SUPPLEMENT

of 30 fruits – veggies and berries and now OMEGAS!

Sixteen years ago my life changed and in my mind and heart –

I believe – I am still here – and I STILL TAKE THOSE SUPPLEMENTS EVERY DAY!

Papa’s World – keeping the mind sharp – remembering

Every day – I try to remember whatever I can about the past !

Some days – you are on top – others – well – you forget

Keeping up with memory – both short term and long term – requires concentration – at least that is my way.

I have little tricks I use to remember – like my keys – I try to always put them in one place when I am not using them – and when I go someplace – they always going my left hand pants pocket.

If they are not there – then I am in trouble – because in my mind I have to back track from the last time I remember having them.

I think food has a lot to do with it !

I think what food we eat – has a lot to do with memory – just how I feel.

Everyday – for my memory I take OMEGA’S 3 – 6 -7- 9 -made from algae. I really do not like the taste or after taste of fish oil – and I am not keen on fish and mercury.

Developing habits – I find helps me tremendously – find a routine and stick with it – when you vary – is when you forget – at least for me !

Find a nutrition supplement

When you deal with your mind – find a nutrition supplement – read the research – whole food is important – processed food is not – drink whole food when you can – plant based is what I eat and drink.

In this time – Day#58 of Sheltering –

The World turns regardless –

Try not to read the bad news – or listen to the negative

Give of yourself – food to the hungry – clothes to the poor.

Even though you see and hear all things –

filter them out – for it is up to you and me

To make this a better place.

In our time of silence – in our time of isolation –

Think how the normal is now the abnormal

and how to bring the sanity back into our lives’

The World turns regardless –

Put your faith into whatever you believe in

and make it a better place.

Positive thoughts – positive well being – positive actions

The news is full of the negative – channel it out

there are good things out there

We are humanity –

Give of yourself – help less fortunate –

Those in need – those that are hungry

donate time – collect food – and help deliver it.

Laughter – zooming – tic – tock – video – messaging

stay in touch – drive by honk your horn

Sunday streamed service

walk – ride a bike – say hello from a distance

Faith – hope -charity – love and kindness.

Papa’s World – healing – what you eat – is who you are.

It is really hard to maintain that habit –

There are so many distractions – so many smells –

Just out walking – the smells of early morning –

we live in a very diverse neighborhood –

and you can smell the cooking for meals as you walk.

And it is mouth watering !

With me – I have given up fast food – milk – ice cream – soda –

I try not to eat red meat –

I stick mainly to chicken and fish.

Small amounts and not everyday.

I like Tuna in a can – solid white packed in water.

I like raw carrots – radish – cuke’s and tomato’s.

I rarely eat processed meat or cheese.

My wife Sherry is a certified health coach –

she watches over me –

we try as often as we can to walk three miles

BUT NOW THE COLD IS HERE.

So- we walk the Mall or go to our health fitness center.

I could live in flip flops the rest of my life –

I am not a snow – ice or cold weather person.

Getting older – watching steps and stairs –

not walking on ice –

And smelling the food where ever you go.

IT CERTAINLY IS NOT EASY !

But – we have to do it !

We are aging – but our goal is to age healthy –

WE ARE WHAT WE EAT !
