We met them there – John and Nancy and a neighbor couple – Pat and Paul.
It was almost a half way point for us and them.
A beautiful day – they had attended Community Lutheran Church – in Sterling Va. as we did.
We became friends and a little over a year before we moved – they had moved to Charleston S.C.
We have visited them and they have visited us.
Once before we met up in Georgetown S.C.
John Nancy sitting Pat Sherry and Paul sitting – you can walk for miles inside this garden!
Every where you turn you find statues such as this!
There is a nature walk – maybe two miles long – through fields which were once planted with rice – a major crop for this plantation – I can not even imagine working in there with the snakes and gators!
Once a rice field – today a marsh!
Beautiful fountains across the garden!
Statues by famous artists all over the world! With inscriptions on just how it came to be here!
John Pat Paul Nancy
I am just amazed at some of these statues and how they did them!
Also part of the gardens are boat rides on the river that winds its way through the estate!Boat rides along the banks and what used to be rice fields of the plantation.
Thank you for reading Papa’s World
BROOK GREEN GARDEN – south of Myrtle Beach – on route 17.
A place we will go back to.
Just so much to take in – walking – seeing how they lived back in the early 1800’s.
