Several years ago –

Along with our long-time friends – The McBrides-

We vacationed on Oahu!

This was a bucket list for both of us!

We also wanted to golf-

So we rented clubs and played a rainforest course in the mountains.

We even saw a mongoose and wild pigs!

In this picture, you can see the yellow ball just as Sherry hits it!

To her left are green Trees, bushes, and deep ravines!

Needless to say –

You do not look for lost golf balls on this course!

It was cart path only – at times going through jungle growth on either side of the cart!

Part of the course was in the rain forest-

And yes, it rained!

The other part was sunny and dry!

It was an experience I shall always remember.

The Covid Pandemic!

We wore masks –

But I have had Covid three times.
I have had the two shots and the booster.

I was sick for a few days –

But no lasting results.

I do not plan to have additional shots-

As I also do not have the Flu shots.

I have been tested, and my body is producing antibodies!

BUT – A PAST MEMORY I SHALL ALWAYS HAVE!

This I have taken for over twenty years.

Absorbed directly into my bloodstream.

Our kitchen island in our home in Brambleton, VA.

The three youngest grandkids lived one mile from us.

We were together all the time as their parents worked.

They eventually moved out to the country.

The 401K took a big hit-

However, this house has increased significantly in value.

We decided to cash out after 14.5 years.

What had been an everyday occurrence for years –

Became less and less.

Loundon County became more and more expensive to live in.

We decided since they were older and becoming more and more involved in activities-

It was time to find a warmer climate,

Yet it was a six-to seven-hour drive away!

We moved to Cameron Woods –

Just a short drive to OIB!

This is across the causeway bridge to Ocean Isle Beach-

In the wooded area in the upper left is where we live on the mainland!

We either go home or they come down, so we see them often-

And try to support them in the events they do.

They call Sherry – MORMOR- Swede for MOTHERSMOTHER –

And they call me PAPA!

Yes – we do funny things –

But then we have been friends since the mid to late 70s.

We all now live in the state of N.C.
