Nineteen years ago – Maddy – who soon will be 24 years old –
our oldest granddaughter –
Now a Scientist-Geologist for a major Environmental firm –
She was the smallest one out on the playing field for soccer –
They put her on defense –
and she harassed and took the ball away.
She ended up as a Junior and Senior traveling 65 miles each way to Loudoun County to play
travel team soccer – now playing on the front wing-
she did this on her own –
and it paid off!
She spent four years playing soccer for the University of Lynchburg –
twice making the third and second teams all-conference –
and as a Senior – CAPTAIN of her team!
She is in my own way – my HERO!

We have been friends of the McBrides and the Browns for all our lives it seems.
Here is Sandy – daughter of the McBrides – then Debby and Tammy – our daughters – and Katie –
daughter of Jim and Dottie Brown.
This picture was taken when we spent a week on Oka Island and they came to visit.
It is in the backyard of the McBrides.
I used to carry Katie back and forth to the beach so the sand wouldn’t burn her little feet!

Sherry – soon after she retired in 2012 from American-Olean – Dal-tile –
on the beach of Oak Island.
The twins had just started to walk and as always –
Cassidy hangs with her MORMOR – Sherry!
To this day – she calls or messages her –
PRICELESS in my mind!
Tammy holds Taylor – and I think Maddy and Ella or it could be Sarah!

Why I love my wife – this is so her!
These are early moments in time –
with the grandkids and friends.
Family on trips and memories being made.
