The beach – the ocean – warmer climate- hardly any snow or ice-
Golfing in the winter months –
Walking in sunshine with a coat and scarf-
Getting too warm and taking them off!
Blue skies – white fluffy clouds-
Watching thunderstorms rolling in!
Shows – music – entertainment-
Friends nearby.
These are just a few of the many things I associate with living in the South!
We wanted to be within a day’s drive from family in NVA!
The deep south was too far.
Being close to beaches was a plus.
Shopping – doctors and medical facilities.
Cities we could travel to if we wanted.
We chose the border of N.C. and S.C.
It can be hot in mid-summer –
But that is offset by being comfortable in mid-winter.

Our decades-old friends are 35 minutes to 3.5 hours away.
We still manage to get together several times a year.
The closer ones are about once a month.
We have made many new friends –
And other close friends from NVA have moved nearby!

We have downsized to one level –
With enough room for family!
In a community that is both quiet and has protected wetlands.
You see here behind the house,
Trees that are protected!

We feel we made the right choice!
We are happy here.
Friends and family visit.
The weather is to our liking-
Neither one of us likes the cold.

Andrea and Troy – my oldest son!
They will visit once again in the future!

Sunsets – this is our life in the South!
Our senior years are now here.

As the days begin and end
We are truly living in the South.
