Papa’s World – Over 40 years ago – MEMORIES – when we were young!

June 25th, 1982 – Papa – brown suit – Sherry – as tall as me – our wedding day – The tall young girl – Debby – Sherry’s daughter -next to her – with her arms around the little girl – Tammy – Sherry’s youngest daughter.

We combined two sets of children – my two sons and her two daughters – in the early years – not much money but we made it!

Last summer – Papa and my two sons – Troy – with the beard – my oldest and Shawn – my youngest – still lived back in NWPA!

They visited last summer and will be back!

This is me! LOL If only I could putt!

The family is far away – but ever so near in our hearts – all have at one time or another come for visits – bringing us together again.

Trisha and Shawn – my youngest son – from NWPA – a long way to travel – FLY MY SON – FLY!!!

Andrea and Troy – my oldest son – also from back home in NWPA – a long way – close to our hearts.

Ella – Mike – Sarah – Debby ( Sherry’s oldest daughter) Maddy – the Myers family from NVA – not as far – but still a drive!

Marcus – Taylor – Doggy Marley – Cassidy Tammy ( Sherry’s youngest daughter) Bode – NVA – the closest to us 6 1/2 hours away.

Papa’s World – to my oldest son – Troy – HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

Sherry – Troy – Papa – it is hard to believe that the years have gone by so fast – here he is another year older – the man who builds houses from the ground up – everything – he is like my father – who as a young little boy – called him “FRITZ”!

Proud Papa – today he has hung up the house building and runs the insulation and energy side of Shawn’s business. Working on becoming able to also do the audits and be certified by the state.

Kindness – patience – loving – he got all of this from my mother – who, when he was young would go and stay with her as she was alone.

Today he and Andrea live together and do everything as one – hoping they both will come back and visit us!

In this picture, the eyes and smile so remind me of my older brother!

Before he went into the business of my younger son – a fireplace he built in a house he built!

My son – happy birthday and many more to come – love dad.

Troy – Papa – Shawn – oldest and youngest – love dad.

Papa’s World – livinglifedoingitmyway.blog To my oldest son Troy – HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

Our happy place awaits you to come back to – love Dad!

Papa’s World – family – our boys!

Troy Papa Shawn

It was a very long time in coming – we moved South in 1999 and left behind the boys.

They had their own lives and jobs –

We have been planning this for months and months –

and after driving some 15 hours –

they were here.

Before they came down – they agreed among themselves – they would play golf with me if I played mini golf with them – DONE – next time it is GOLF! LOL
Sherry Troy Papa

We had so much fun showing the SALT LIFE – sunrises and sunsets.

Shawn and Sherry

Memories of the past 40-plus years were talked about and laughed at!

This time together means so much!

FAMILY – our boys came to visit!

Papa’s World – Not goodbye – but until you return again – FAMILY!

Shawn and Trisha

Our family from WPA came to visit – driving some 16 hours – a very long trip!

First time for my two sons and their families to make the trip South.

Troy the eldest – Papa and Shawn the youngest.

We tried to work as much into the seven days as we could –

sometimes letting them go off on their own as we had other commitments

but we did sunrises and sunsets all together – beach time and places to eat out together.

Visiting the area and nature walks along with mini golf!

Andrea and Troy – selfie!

Our time together was priceless and I encouraged them to fly next time to be able to spend

more time on vacation and less time driving!

When we moved south to NVA in 1999 – they stayed in WPA for their families and jobs.

Relaxing on the mainland side of Sunset Beach in the park.

Our garage became a favorite place to meet and talk during rain and hot sunshine while at the house.

Shawn and Troy

Shawn runs his own Energy Auditing business contracting with major energy companies for the states of Pa. and firms from NYS. Troy works for and runs the insulation side of the business for Shawn and government and state programs for the elderly.

In the morning they left to drive back to WPA – not saying goodbye but until we meet again.

Papa’s World – Last night and family dinner at Inlet View!

Family from NWPA – our final dinner together.

We went all the way to the third floor of Inlet View to eat and see the waterfront!
The bar area on the third floor.

It was Sherry and my first time being on the top floor and we said when we go back we will go up there!
We were told this is where all the locals come when they come here and also on the side is another deck they hang out on.

This is the view from that side deck – no one bothers them up there!

We had such a fun week with family and told them to FLY back and we would pick them up!

We decided to have a drink here and they could also shop!

Our family from NWPA came to visit for a week – an almost 15-hour drive!

We walked around and showed them the marina and stopped –

then we decided to have a drink – and LULU’S is a favorite spot for us to relax and people watch.

A mixture of drinks I just had my usual draft!

SMILE – you are in PAPA’S WORLD!

Papa – Troy and Autumn – Wonder Works or as I call it – “THE UPSIDE DOWN HOUSE”!

We went to Boardwalk on the beach before they went to a buffet for seafood!

Just walking around and going into stores so they could experience this part of Myrtle Beach.

One of the many bars and grills to enjoy!

Boardwalk on the Beach is a place to go for entertainment – eat and do the rides much like an amusement park.

There is a ton of shopping and fun things to watch and do.

Looking NE on Sunset Beach – the reflection from the setting sun in the West.

Our family from NWPA drove 14 1/2 hours to be with us for one week – and the first night –

we took them to Sunset Beach to the pier – to experience the famous Sunset Beach – sunset!

My youngest son – Shawn and myself standing on the pier.

The air was warm as was the water at 80 degrees.

Many people come here to fish until midnight when the pier closes.

Papa – Troy – Andrea – Sherry – Autumn – Shawn – Trisha took pictures – after we came home from playing mini-golf.

Our families drove some 14 1/2 hours from NWPA to spend a week with us.

We did a lot of exploring – nature walks – resort areas – beach time- sunrise and sunsets.

This day was a nature walk in Cherry Grove before we set out to play mini golf at

“THE BLACK PEARL”!

It was a fun time – guys vs. gals and we barely won!

Papa’s World – livinglifedoingitmyway.blog

Our family from back home in NWPA drove almost fifteen hours to stay with us for a week!

Andrea – Troy – Papa – Shawn – Trisha and Autumn

We decided other than beach time we would take them exploring nature – and the best way for that for us was Vareen Gardens – just across the border in S.C.

You walk the boardwalk across the marsh and come to this area on the ICW – where you can gather shells – make a wish – sign them and hang them from a tree or bush.

There was what is called a KING TIDE and water came up the steps!
Andrea and my oldest son Troy. BEACH LIFE!

We explored the coast – ICW views and the trail then continues across the marsh and into the woods.

Papa’s World – Heritage Shores nature walk with family!

In Cherry Grove – North Myrtle Beach is a nature walk over the marsh and onto an island.

My two sons – Troy and Shawn – we had a high tide and rain and part of the paths were ankle-deep in water.
But we managed to make it all the way around except for Sherry – Andrea and Trisha who decided to turn around and go back the way we came.

It was just past here when my oldest son Troy spotted a snake that I did not see!
About to come to the gazebo overlooking the marsh and waterway.

Troy and Andrea take a break and take in the expanse of the bay.

Papa’s World – On the Groin at Ocean Isle Beach – SUNRISE by the rocks! With Troy and Andrea.

Good morning everyone, from OIB, N.C.

We moved South to the border of N.C. and S.C. where the temperature is more to my liking!

This morning – Sherry and I took my oldest son Troy and his partner Andrea to the East end

of OIB, by the break wall called the GROIN!

Sherry near the GROIN as we wait for the sunrise.

The GROIN was installed last winter to stop the beach erosion.

900 feet long straight out and into the ocean.

Made up of huge granite boulders weighing tons

and lifted by a big crane from beds of huge dump trucks and put in place to form a break wall to stop erosion.

Troy – Andrea and Sherry – waiting for the sunrise coming up over the horizon.

Andrea and Troy standing on the GROIN – hardly any folks about at this time of day.
Troy – giving a thumbs up for this site to watch the sunrise.
The start of the sunrise – a little bit of a breeze with a slight chill.
The GROIN on OIB with the sun peaking on the horizon.

Beyond this rock wall is a lagoon that at low tide turns into a huge tidal pool – only one to two feet deep!

Sunrise over the GROIN at OIB – beautiful – warms your heart!

Sherry – Andrea and Troy enjoying the sunrise – taking pictures and by this time a couple dozen other people had gathered!

PAPA’S WORLD

Papa’s World – laughter – smiling – sharing good vibes

Many of us out here – struggle with food and added weight –

going on diets – making pledges and looking in the mirror

Well – at least I found one thing on me that fits every year!

Good day everyone – when I started writing –

first on face book and now this blog

livinglifedoingitmyway.blog

I said I would write smiles – laughter – family – friends

and adventures and good thoughts.

I have managed to do it most of the time regardless

of the goings on in the World.

I am a positive person – thinking that most things work themselves out

or in a 24 hour time are forgotten and moved on!

I take after my Mom –

one fellow co-worker after I told them about my mother

said “Now I know where you got the calmness and feisty

attitude from!”

I have always had a quiet sense of humor –

but when around close friends

my inner self comes out!

A few beers and a micro phone

Well – have you ever heard a

“OLD LOVE SICK COON HOUND YOWL”!

Well – that would be me!

Along with the humor and good times

family is important to me and my life.

I have two grown sons

and they live in NWPA

I do not get to see them enough since we moved to NVA

But – they have made me a proud dad.

The oldest can build house – beginning to end

by himself if he had too!

The youngest runs his own energy – insulation company

mainly for the State and power companies.

And I also have two grandsons who live across the country.

Close to us are the grand daughters and grandson

who live nearby.

FAMILY is a important part of my blog. MEMORIES!

My wife – both of us have our own thoughts on love –

country – family and social society.

Each in our own way –

but we both understand each other

and support each other

guarding each others back.

That is what love is to me.

My wife was the first to encourage me to write

as she was the first to encourage me to join face book.

She told me I had to put these writings – memories in a safe place

and she told me that I had too many friends and people

asking her on face book how I was & saying hello.

I am glad I listened – now I have all these friends

and blog posts – that can be read by future generations!

That is why my blog exists – my writings preserved

My memories of my life for our kids to read and see in pictures.

To date I have 259 members to my blog site.

Everytime I blog – they get a email

is that it is FREE to subscribe!
