Papa’s World – Visiting back home in NVA!

The twins – Cassidy on the left and Taylor on the right-

This is a Christmas concert at Community Lutheran Church.

It was three different choirs –

A complete orchrestra-

And they – the twins – had a duet to start the program off!

A fine time to be home and witness them up front and singing!

Years ago we took all three along with their mother Tammy –

Into Washington, D.C. –

to see the lights – the nation’s Christmas tree-

and celebrations all over the city.

On the METRO’S SILVER LINE –

A first for Bode who was only three years old!

At the platform on the Metro Silver Line.

Here is Taylor – Bode and Cassidy –

This was seven years ago!

This is Taylor today with Marley!

She has trained her to do everything.

She has such a way with animals.

She treats horses the same way!

She would live in the barn with them if she could!

Bode today – next birthday he will be eleven years old!

Into all sports –

Loves the Commanders and the Capitals and the Nationals.

Plays soccer and flag football and golf!

Cassidy – Cheerleading – Gymnastics –

both girls are honor students.

She is the neatest one –

her room is always neat and the bed is made.

She is a fashion queen-

much like her cousin – Sarah!

Here Taylor is training Marley –

not to eat the treat until she says so!

And Marley does just that with the treat on her nose! LOL

All three love making Christmas cookies!

This is a small part of traveling back to Leesburg –

seeing the little ones and Marley!

Marley – such a gentle Golden Doodle-

She is so accommodating.

They dress her up and she just goes along with it!

This is but the first part of going home for the holidays.

Later we go to Lake Holiday to see the rest of the family!

At Lake Holiday with Debby – to be continued!

Papa’s World – The world of cheerleading comes to Cassidy!

Cassidy – our twin decided to try out for cheerleading in middle school –

She made the team and is now a full-fledged cheerleader!

Being in eighth grade –

this along with gymnastics –

Puts her into two sports!

She is dedicated –

and next year,

she plans to try out for the Freshman.

She is thoughtful – caring and always calls her MORMOR ( Sherry ) –

to check in on her or send her messages.

The squad is large and the tryouts are intense,

they must be able to do routines and form lifts of the others.

KUDOS to CASSIDY for undertaking the tryouts and achieving her goal of being a cheerleader.

Tammy moved her store to Main Street in downtown Leesburg, Va.

This is the third location she has moved to.

She specializes in upscale children’s clothing.

Mail order is a big part of her business –

and is in her 5th or 6th year of operation.

The clothing is rotated out monthly-

and reduced each month.

A complete inventory every 3 to 4 months.

NAME BRAND CLOTHING!

Storefront window – lots of foot traffic –

prices and info provided.

There also are shoes and women’s adult clothing.

Papa’s World – At ION skating rink – Bode’s birthday!

To start off your day with humor – and smiles! LOL!

Our young grandson – Bode – invited his friends to the ION INTERNATIONAL TRAINING ICE SKATING FACILITY in Leesburg, Va.

It is a huge facility with a hockey-sized arena with seats on one side and another hockey-sized arena on the other side for free skating!

Bode – third from left – with his friends in the rink – they had such a good time – they also had a private room where they went for cake and pizza and presents.

Here they are in the entrance to the rink – such fun – I watched them for an hour or more!

The other side is where the hockey side is and also a training center for the Olympics and you can see some of them skating!

Recently we went to the ION SKATING rink for our grandson’s birthday party –

In Leesburg, Va.

Where – we walked into the other half of the building and to our surprise –

INTERNATIONAL SKATING pairs for the Olympics were training!

I talked to the mother of the girl in the above picture – who is from Georgia – the country – and they had just flown in from France.

She told me there are three sites across the country – Salt Lake City – Michigan and here at ION in Leesburg, Va. that are the elite of training sites!

In this picture, you can see the USA pairs for ice skating being instructed by the coach for the USA OLYMPIC TEAM!

There were pairs from Georgia – France – Poland – Great Britain and the USA here that day.

The mother told me they had moved to Leesburg so her daughter could train at ION.

This is a hockey arena and it is really nice – there are teams that play here although not the NHL.

I was very surprised at the size and how nice it was way out here in the country.

We had no idea when we came for the birthday party being held on the other side of the wall

in an exact-sized rink

but without the seats that this was going on .

I only found it as I had asked to go into the rink to see it!

Sunrise in Leesburg, Va. on the morning of Bode’s birthday – turning nine years old!

As he sleeps – balloons greet him when he wakes up!

The living room – birthday greetings – fireplace – it was 30 plus degrees outside – but a beautiful sunrise.

Frost on the ground but a warm fire in the fireplace – and he got what he had been asking for since the beginning of last summer!

MESSI – his soccer hero – shirt and pants – just what a young soccer player wanted!

Youngest daughter Tammy – her daughter Cassidy and Sherry – MORMOR – MOTHERS MOTHER! SWEDISH.

We traveled back to NVA for two weeks to spend time with family.

Little Cassidy would zoom often and give her MORMOR the countdown in days and sleeps!

All SIX on Christmas day in Lake Holiday – Cross Junction – Va.

We gathered the day of Christmas to all celebrate together – dinner – presents – games.

Christmas eve at the Krohn’s in Leesburg Va.

A celebration with Marcus’s family – dinner and gift opening – white elephant gift!

I thought two weeks would be a long time – but it went by really quick – family time!

The manger scene in Tammy and Marcus house – made by Sherry’s father Bill – is always with us.

Her father made one for family members – we also have one at our house.

We brought the pine combs with us picking them off the ground in Cameron Woods –

the three little ones decorated them into small Christmas trees!

What we always do – family hikes – warm Christmas day. Sherry – patriarch of the family.

Our family is into health – nutrition – exercising – walking running – for the past sixteen years!

PAPA’S WORLD – FAMILY CHRISTMAS 2021 MEMORIES!

Papa’s World – our grandson Bode – another soccer player in the family!

In the center of this picture – Ella to the left and Maddy to the right – Ella will be a junior at Randolf College – and has started every game in her two-year career in college soccer – Maddy – who just graduated from the University of Lynchburg –

Played four years of soccer – third-team all-conference as a Sophomore – second-team all-conference as a junior and team captain her senior year – twice in four years going to the NCAA tournament and in her senior year winning the ODAC conference.

Now we have Bode – in the black attacking the ball and taking it away from the player in white!

He plays the left-side striker like Maddy.

He will be the next to go on to become a very good soccer player and he loves also playing Hockey!

Here he makes a pass down the sideline to a teammate at which time he raced ahead toward the middle and took the pass back from his teammates.

He took the pass and dribbled in among four players and broke free!

Breaking free he goes straight to the goal and scores the first of his two goals and just missed a third one!

Here he caught up to a ball in the air and knocked it down to dribble on toward his second goal!

Here he is just before the ball went into the air and he knocked it down and scored his second goal!

He is only eight years old and already has the sense of playing soccer much like his two older cousins!

Bode – our eight-year-old grandson who I think will follow in the footsteps of his father and his two older cousins in soccer!

Papa’s World – A walk in Vereen Gardens and then onto Leesburg,Va.

Before we left for our trip to Northern Va. – we took a hike through Vereen Gardens in S.C. along the ICW.

Here I stopped to take a selfie of the marsh walk way behind me!

And then I turned around and took a picture of myself and the ICW which I was standing next to.

Love this preserve and also you can continue on trails through the woods!

The next day we left for our journey North to Leesburg, Va.

That night we sat outside on the back patio by the firepit! Relaxing after our seven-hour drive! The kids had SMORES!

Our granddaughter Taylor on a make shift cushions in the back yard with MARLEY – their GOODENDOODLE!

She has trained Marley like a horse jumping different obstacles – she also rides horses.

Marley is so gentle – they constantly dress her up!

It was a good couple days – hiking – then traveling and ending up with family and MARLEY!

Family time – father and daughter – PRICELESS!

Papa – Ella Maddy ( her boyfriend Kendrick) Sherry – we stopped in Lynchburg, Va. on our way back to OIB to see them and have breakfast.

Both granddaughters are in college there and Maddy will graduate this year.

Fun time even though it was short – granddaughters!!!!!!!

Cassidy did this besides practicing for six months for the play The Little Mermaid!

Taylor – who loves horses and rides every week and sometimes works in the stalls.

They went out for a treat for the straight “A” s.

Our daughter moved her consignment store to the historic district of Leesburg, Va.

She owns an UPSCALE consignment store of women’s and children’s name-brand clothing!

A unique store she first opened five years ago and moved to Leesburg. All sizes and ages for children’s and women’s clothes.

Brand named clothing – seems hardly worn – and discounted each month for three months – also sold online and shipped.

Racks and racks of clothing – complete inventory changes every three months and monthly partial inventory.

Papa’s World – Sarah – Cassidy – Bode and Taylor go ice skating!

Taylor – Sarah – Cassidy and Bode – cousins – at the ION ice rink in Leesburg, Va. There also is a full-size ice hockey rink here other than what you see behind them – with thousands of seats!

We got together with Sarah and her mother Debby for a two-hour skate – the kids loved it and they all helped Sarah who hasn’t skated since she was little!

The adults sat here at the table with a full view of the rink – I also went to the hockey rink and watched the youth hockey play – full pads!

Quite impressed with the arena which could rival the pros!

We were able to have food and drinks while watching the kids and they could join us for food!

Taylor who is 12 is almost as tall as Sarah who is 16 and around 5’10! Cassidy has been catching up to Taylor for the last year.

We then went to the grandkid’s house – for a short visit – exchanged clothes – and say our goodbyes!

The afternoon ended too quickly but we all had such a good time and all the kids loved the ice skating!

Sherry with Bode – Taylor – Sarah and in front Cassidy – grandkids!

As promised for the twins birthday celebration – their cousin Sarah would stay overnight and we all went to

the waterpark the next day. Ida Lee Waterpark and since it was Labor day weekend –

hardly anyone was there!

This sits just outside Leesburg Va.

Bode was with them but had to use the restroom!

The only way for him to join up with them again was to get a tube and get in as they passed him on the lazy river.

The water was a little cold but okay after they were in. The temps had cooled down to mid ’70’s!

All in all – we were there three or four hours!

The park itself is not that big and lots of lifeguards – making it easy for us to sit one place and watch them!

Since it was a holiday weekend – most people had gone out of town – it was not crowded at all!

They had a blast on the slides and pools and lazy river – a obstacle course and a place to snack.

Sarah about to go under the water fall! I would bring them back again and we had shade to sit in!
