A couple days ago – Sherry was working for Tammy –

And I was watching Bode –

It had been raining and I glanced out the back window

to the East –

and saw a sight I never get used to –

A RAINBOW !

Everything was fresh and clean from the Rain –

Even though we have a irrigation system

The lawn and trees and flowers

always react much better to natural rain fall.

The RAINBOW is a extra offshoot of refreshing rain.

Papas World – leaving the Tower Gardens – fantastic

When we sold the house – the new owners had adopted

a plant based diet – they observed the Tower Gardens

and made the offer to purchase them!

Along with 95 % of our household goods!

This Tower Garden is the one that has the cukes – tomatoes and spreading plants

We did two outside – in the patio we limited it – so as not to spread out

This one is inside the patio and will not spread out so much

There is enough produce to provide for several families

I often over the ten years would give away as we had too much to eat.

They will only have to make sure it has water –

and once every 10 days or so – some nutrients –

and just pick and eat!

This will produce until extra cold weather – frost – ice or snow.

Sherry even made bread and butter pickles –

and we stored tomatoes in newspapers for a while.

Papa’s World – Living our lives to the plus!

Every morning for the past SIXTEEN YEARS – I have FRUITS – VEGETABLES – BERRIES and OMEGAS before breakfast!

You see – I have these capsules and I take two of each of what I said above.

I choose to do this for my own general health – because I do not eat the required amount in servings each day!

Since I am not rock climbing and heights scare me – we walk almost every day – I want to age healthy – maintain my memory – and live life to the plus each day!

My early years were eating anything – drinking anything and yes I smoked – I gave it up 38 years ago at age 35!

But I had to change – I choose this because the research – which is published – showed me everything –

and has changed me for the better – and it has helped me!

Papa’s World – High and Low Tides – exceptional.

October is the month for exceptional HIGH and LOW tides!

I did not know that!

No – I did not go to this extreme to see where the tide came up to.

But – from our Lanai one half mile away –

we could hear the BOOMING of the Surf!

So – Sherry looked it up and sure enough

we were in this week of very high and low tides!

So – we went for our daily walk in the morning

Just after high tide had been there

and I captured this photo!

HIGH TIDE CAME UP TO THE BOTTOM STEP

OF THE LIFEGUARD CHAIR! WOW!

And then in the afternoon – I snapped this picture

looking back toward the mainland

and down the beach – that same chair would of been

where the light colored sand is!

This was not even LOW TIDE YET!

I guess this happens once a year in October!

This beach is very wide normally

during normal tides

and very flat and hard surface

you can wade way out if you want

not me – I saw a sand shark caught

within 20 yards of the beach!

Papa’s World – Great Smokey Mountains – health – team – bonding – Generations of Nutrition.

Sixteen gathered at a cabin located between Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg –

They drove hours to get there – all up and down the East Coast.

You see – my wife Sherry is a Certified Health Coach –

and also a rep for The Juice Plus Company and has been for the last sixteen years.

My health is the reason I am here today and she has played a major role in that.

Every six months – a conference is held – one on the East Coast and one on the West Coast.

The title is JUICE PLUS + LIVE!

Living life to the PLUS – one day at a time.

What started as a part-time hobby – became a retirement fun job.

In those sixteen years – we have traveled the country – met so many fine people

who all have one major thing in common –

HEALTH and NUTRITION and in our case FAMILY GENERATIONS!

Thus the TEAM GENERATIONS was born – led by a mother and daughter –

Today it has grown and grown and the leaders now gather –

For the last two years – the Pandemic has kept the gathering in one place down to a minimum

But in October – it will be back in full swing in Atlanta!

Eight thousand people, normally, we shall see, the Pandemic has kept them apart.

This time – arrive on Thursday – leave on Sunday – fun – learning – games – all part of bonding.

In October I’ll once again be going – driving Sherry and seeing old friends once again.

For sixteen years she is and has been a Certified Health Coach –

teaching the value of a plant-based diet.

It has been a journey – one that is not easy to maintain with all the food that is out there –

but one that has become a way of life for their families –

and the concept of “TEAM GENERATIONS” that now has all the grandkids following.

Along with so many others all over the country and their own families.

TEACHING GOOD HEALTH THROUGH HEALTHY SELECTIONS – and continuing in N.C.

OUR TOWER GARDENS, BACK IN BRAMBLETON, VA.

We continue to grow here in N.C. and our experiment of the twelve-month growing season

has been a success!

We decided to bring one Tower Garden with us and last August started our growing season.

We have continued all through the winter here –

experiencing SNOW – ICE – HIGH WINDS – temps into the TEENS!

It has survived all of that with a cover we brought with us from Va.

It allows the sun in and heats up during the day –

Metallic surface and everything survived regardless of our 1/4 inch ice storm.

I am not sure where we bought this covering but it was worth it as we had salads every night.

Papa’s World – past memories – friends and family.

Bob and I went to grade school together – Jim and I played softball together in the mid to late ’70s

We have stayed friends all these years and got together to play golf!

We have traveled the world with Cindy and Buck – always an adventure – always laughter – salute!

He runs a company that makes elderly peoples homes more energy efficient through state grants

and grants from power companies.

The other half is audits of homes for people to apply for grants.

He works seven days a week / covering the whole western side of Pa.

My oldest son runs the insulation half of the business –

and is taking state courses and exams to start auditing.

The three couples have been friends for 40 years – Dottie and Jim – Buck and Cindy.

When we all moved away from WNY and WPA – we stayed in touch and took turns hosting.

And we always sang songs – laughed and golfed!

Now we live in N.C. some 32 miles away from Buck and Cindy –

we try to golf once a week

and we all still get together – after all these years. FRIENDS FOR LIFE!

Family is such a big part of our lives – once or twice a week – zoom calls with the little ones & Marley!

and she also has two internet businesses while raising three little ones and the new puppy!

I would say all three of us need to do this! LOL

Bobby and I go back to grade school in the mid-’50s and then onto graduation.

Jimmy and I go back to the very early ’70s and the start of playing softball for ten years or more.

Both have been in my majority of life although separately – never meeting one another.

That all changed when they both came to visit and now today they are also friends.

Bobby hitting first across the water to the green – Jimmy watching and will hit next – we played a scramble.

Bob’s wife Pam and my wife Sherry – went away for an extended weekend to the Great Smoky Mountains in Tenn.

To Gatlinburg and a health conference with 12 other ladies!

We decided to do this and play some golf.

We went across the street from Cameron Woods – Ocean Isle Beach where we live and play one of the BIG CAT COURSES!

There are four of them over there and this one is called Panther’s Run.

They hit it off right away – Jimmy is about eight years younger than us – Bob knew his family but was long gone from Eldred when Jim and I started playing softball together.

Pam ( PJ) and Sherry – Leopards Chase Golf Course – Ocean Ridge Plantation – Ocean Isle Beach, N.C.

Before they came to visit – we told them we would take them to the beach and also golfing!

They were excited at that – they both had gone to a driving range – and had their clubs.

Across the street from us sits four courses called THE BIG CATS golf courses in Ocean Ridge.

I made tee times at Leopards Chase.

We saw this medium gator on the bank across from the tee box.

And then a few holes later at another tee box – I happened to look over the bank and saw this BIG GATOR!

I had told them we most likely would see a gator or two!

Bathroom break and letting a twosome play through – we never saw another person again!

It was that type of day – quiet – no one around – just four friends meeting up once again.

A day of golfing with friends – playing a scramble – we shot an 83 – not bad for us hackers – if only we had made those putts!

Papa’s World – for exercise – walking healthy – our go to spot – the beach!

One of the reason we came South and where we choose to build our home – Ocean Isle Beach.

We tried many areas down here and were drawn to this area in N.C. called Ocean Isle Beach.

We are some eight miles or so to the S.C. border – and we are situated on the mainland –

some four miles inland with the ICW between us and the beach.

We also are close to numerous golf courses – which is another reason we moved South.

We decided as we age – it was time to take it serious – well – we are not good – but love to play!

We tried out NMB in S.C. and really liked it there – but in order to find what we wanted –

we each had a list – it would of cost too much in renovations and thus way over our price point.

Then by accident – we stumbled on to a new community being built.

And we could get everything we wanted – all new – for the price we would of paid before renovations!

And here is one of those things on both our lists – access to a beach to walk each day!

We are in our autumn years – still able to get out and about – and one of those reasons why –

is to maintain a healthy lifestyle – eating and walking.

Sherry is a CERTIFIED HEALTH COACH – and prompts me to stay active.

That also is why we golf – being outside in the fresh air –

four to five hours each time – some walking – we trade off and on – and swinging those clubs(often)

Papa’s World – “Who you goona call – GHOSTBUSTERS”! Fixing the island counter!

On our walk through – Sherry found the corner had broken off and they had glued it back on!

It had come as far as we could tell – from the vendor shop like that!

It had plastic wrap on it and she could feel the glue on the top.

You can see the crack line and then the amount they were cutting off.

The warranty said they had the right to fix it – either in place or they take it off and back to the shop!

If they took it off – we would be one week before they would come back!

But – there was the problem of dust and chips!

We did not want the house full of all the dust!

When they showed up – I talked to the crew and they assured us they could control the dust and chips.

They were suppose to take it off and do it off site.

All they needed was plastic which they put down – then they discovered they had no more plastic.

Wait a second Sherry says – I have king sized sheets!

I got some bag clips – and they clipped the two sheets together – and the three of them went under the sheets – with a huge vacuum – and they began cutting and grinding!

It worked – king sized sheets – plastic down on the floor – hardly any dust or chips!

They had to cut both corners so they would match.

The crack has been cut off and grinded smooth and polished!

The opposite corner cut – grinded and polished to match!

If we were not happy -we could of made them switch out the counter top –

but all our counters match including the sinks in the bathrooms.

This was a quick fix – ten minutes on each corner!

The cracked corner is gone – we thought it looked great – and hardly any clean up!

So – we once again had great sevice on the repairs we have made a list of.

We avoided all the work of taking the counter top off and risking more damage.

So – “WHO YOU GONNA CALL – GHOSTBUSTERS”!

Papa’s World – Let food be thy medicine – let Medicine be thy food!

I did not always eat that way!

In fact I was a fast food junkie!

And at age 64 – it caught up with me!

I had a WIDOW MAKERS HEAR ATTACK!

Four arteries –

1 was 100% blocked

1 was 90 % blocked

1 was 70 % blocked

1 was 60 % blocked!

I should of died!

Had I known what I know now –

But my wife did and she changed our lifestyle 15 years ago

and that saved my life!

We started to eat healthy – went away from the fast – junk food

and started taking a supplement –

a mixture of fruits – vegetables – berries –

juiced – dried and the nutrients put into capsules.

This was called Juice Plus.

Along the way – we managed to get all the grand kids

on the supplement for free!

Minus Maddy who is in college and we still provide her with the shakes and capsules

There is no doubt in my mind that I would of passed away

had I not changed my lifestyle and taken this supplement.

through courses with Doctor Bill Sears and Doctor Pam Popper.

So – that is my story and I am now seven years past that heart attack

last year I had a nuclear test and everything is as it was after the by passes.

and I now see my heart doctor once a yaer.

It all started 15 years ago

Sherry found a better way to get nutrition & nutrients

from fruits and vegetables with research to back it up!

They started by naming their mother – daughters team

“TEAM GENERATIONS”

From GIGI ( grandmother )

– to Sherry ( mother) to daughters

Tammy and Debby and their children.

Four generations – all on the road to better health.

The fourth generation – and when they have children – the fifth generation

All because Sherry said “YES” at NBC for your health

at the Washington DC convention center!

It continues to grow – families seeking nutrition

better health

feeling great and less doctor visits

It has spread across the country

and now they communicate with ZOOM calls

and those that live near each other – gather in exercising

There are monthly exercise programs – group fastings

Challenges – and social group gatherings.

It has become a FAMILY trip to health.

The oldest in college – practicing health

sending her care packages of healthy foods!

Trips to conferences on the East Coast and West Coast and Middle America twice a year

Team generations continues to grow one family at a time

Team Generations began with a mother and daughters

Today it has grown into this – leaders from across the country

What started out as a way to eat healthy

and have our kids and grand kids eating better

has turned into a group of dedicated individuals

who share their experience of health and nutrition.

We live each day as it comes – we plan ahead – we experience life – always searching the unexplored roads.

Niether one of us are drinkers – when we are with friends – but that is only a couple.

We will go weeks without even thinking of having a drink – I like to sit and watch people while sipping a beer –

she most likely will sip a unsweet ice tea – after one or two – I am done – and then a month later – do it again.

“DUDE – YOU GOT THAT RIGHT”! from a long haired young man commenting on my shirt!

That made me feel good – impressing the younger generation – he did not have to say that – and that made my day.

We often wonder WHY people do what they do – say what they say – think the way they do?

Each day is a new day for us – a new way to look at things and a new way to make a difference.

Passing that on to the next generation one day at a time.

I hope this brings some joy into your life – some purpose – life is a gift – cherish it – make changes

subtle if needed – a difference means so much – a purpose –

Long known as THE FORGOTTEN WAR –

The Korean conflict war memorial

is to me – “WALKING AMONG THE GHOSTS ” of war.

My brother in law Bill was in this war –

and not once did he ever talk to me about it !

The closest we came was him giving me his sleeping bag –

as a teenager who used it to sleep out on –

North Western chilly nights

in a little town of Eldred Pa.

The sight is becoming – the soldiers – silently walking –

through the shrubs – gray – white –

the effect is startling.

One can almost feel the tension in the air –

the expected clash about to happen –

I often wonder what it would be like to be there –

not in Korea – but here –

on a dark silent night –

with mist swirling in from the Potomac !

Papa’s World – Last full day – journey into the Blue Ridge – Visit BEAR CHASE brewery !

We were down to our last full day !

So we ventured not East – but to the West –

To the Blue Ridge Mountains of Va.

We were going to relax after three days of non stop touring !

So – we took in Bear Chase Brewery –

on top of a mountain –

with views of Reston – Tyson’s corner –

40 to 50 miles away !

We arrived and only a few people were there!

We have been here on weekends when it is packed

both the brewery and the yards !

Lots of nooks and crannies
to enjoy friends
around a fire pit !

A air B&B you can rent
just walk to bed after a night party !

There is also a bar opened on the lawn when it is busy

and a menu for food

close by is another brewery and a winery

along with Mt. Weather where it is said

the Vice President was taken on 9 – 11 !

We were going to spend a couple hours just relaxing

and taking in the view

Papa’s World – Toes in the water – beach life!

Finally we have made it to our dream –

We always vacationed at the beach

up and down the EAST COAST!

Today – until the end of February

we will be next to it!

Sherry and I sold our house and rented a condo

one half mile from the beach

in North Myrtle Beach – S.C.

We did this because I just happen to come upon

this rental – and the view of this small lake

from the top floor lanai!

And the bonus – during our three mile plus walk everyday

half of that walk is on the beach!

Of course said walk comes after my morning cup of coffee!

Why for five months?

Because we do not know where we want to live

only that it will fall someplace

from here to the northern border of N.C.

We have always talked of this

But where ever we go – the criteria is twofold

We will try to stay within 7 hours of our families

in NVA.

And a place that is warm – no snow – and lots of golf!

We did not know at the time just how much Sherry would come to love this place!

Being here – it is warmer than where we lived in the winter

and we walk everyday –

hardly any traffic as we walk within a gated community –

until we cross a road to the beach.

And then after a 1/2 mile walk – we have this!

I LISTEN TO HER THOUGHTS!

She has leaned over to me and said

” I REALLY LOVE THIS WALK AND PLACE”!

WE HAVE SAVED – we have worked all our lives.

We have found our quiet place – our love – and a place for family to enjoy.

We are close to the over seven hours for our trip back to NVA!

The family is now a long weekend away.

We still are searching!

Oh – you can ride golf carts here!

As we leave the beach entrance we use almost every day – and walk back to the condo – a two block walk to the gate.

This is the property just before we enter the gate at Ocean Keyes – We love this house and grounds!

This is along the sidewalk outside the fenced in yard – almost everything here comes back every year!

They have irrigation out here as well in the enclosed yard. It is shaded by Cypress trees –

and it is a inkling to what is inside the fence!

As soon as you walk through the gate – you see these three white ducks!

I have given them the names of HUEY – DEWEY and LOUIE ! LOL

Sherry – who is a CERTIFIED HEALTH COACH – will run ahead of me – then turn around and come back – to get her heart rate up – but I think she sees this sign and off she goes! LOL

I have to keep up or the sign in RED is for me!

Papa’s World – on the Autumn of Life – sunrises – family – Part Two !

It never gets old – every morning is different – as are the nights – I will miss this view in a few short days!

Our Condo in Ocean Keyes – North Myrtle Beach – found simply by accident – and now almost nine months later –

We will move out and into our new home – if the closing is on time!

But – here is what we look at each morning – the lake – the wild fowl – the houses – the fountains – trees –

I love the rees!

And family – little ones climbing trees!

All or most of the family has come down – Mike and Maddy have not made it here.

The little ones love to explore – play on the playground at Barefoot Landing.

Family is really important to us – and keeping the time to get here manageable!

In our new home it will be six hours for one family and almost seven hours for the other.

They can drive in one day and be here early enough to enjoy!

Family time – beach – exploring – warm weather – new home – new neighborhood.

The Myers family – our oldest daughter and the oldest granddaughters – Debby – Ella – Mike – Papa – Sherry – Sarah and Maddy – our first granddaughter – Ella was second and then Sarah.

Ella a senior – next fall – enroll at Randolph College – will play soccer – her H.S,. is undefeated and about to enter states.

Sarah – in the middle of Taylor and Cassidy – Sarah is the youngest in her family –

Sarah wants to act – design – fashion – dance – no sports for her – although I secretly believe she would be awesome – still growing – Ella at 5′ 81/2 ” – I think she will be taller – and Taylor will be tallest of all – only 10 years old!

Maddy – oldest grand child with the youngest grand child – Bode – only boy – Maddy is going into her third year of college at the University of Lynchburg where she also plays soccer – carrying a 3.85 GPA!

Mike – PHYS ED. teacher – Ella – Debby – QNMD for The Juice Plus Company.

Family means a great deal to us – even though we are down here – they have visited and we have gone home several times – staying in each family homes with them.

Papa’s World – walking a nature trail with Debby in Winchester Va.

A picture along the trail in a display for a resident hiker of the Appalachian Trail she took beginning to end.

This is all part of the Shenandoah Museum complex in Winchester Va. A hiking trail – through the woods.

Sherry took all these pictures as we walked about three miles!

The pathway is very wide – I would guess eight feet and all made up with crushed limestone! There are benches to sit on the entire walkway – and areas to sit quietly – a really nice walk and easy on the feet!

We have walked this every time we come to visit and now in late spring – the flowers and trees are full!

Papa’s World – our granddaughter – Ella Myers – senior night soccer – honored!

We made the trip back to NVA to see Ella play soccer for her senior recognition night and picked up the three little ones so they could cheer her on! Taylor – Cassidy and Bode.

Ella will continue on in college playing soccer for Randolph College in Lynchburg Va.

She lost two years with injuries to her feet breaking a bone in each one.

But – she was determined and it paid off.

Her team is now 8 – 0 – 2 and headed to states.

They have five players continuing onto the college level!

Ella number nine – entering the field to play final game of regular season at James Wood H.S. Winchester Va.

Being escorted by her parents and honored on the field.

All family – friends and neighbors who came out to support Ella and her being honored pregame.

The only boy in the grandchildren with Ella’s Sister Maddy – they will compete against each other in college soccer!

They ended up in a double overtime tie for the game – 0 to 0!

They moved onto the districts –

But we were able to come home and watch four games.

Papa – Ella – Sherry proud grandparents – TINY as we called her – has grown up!

Papa’s World – on our first night staying with our daughters house – STORM rolls in!

We had arrived and settled in from Winchester – Lake Holiday – Cross Junction – our other daughters home.

The day was uneventful until late afternoon – the sky turned deep gray – and the clouds seemed to be rolling!

They were scary – rolling across the sky!

A storm was coming!

It was like this in front of the house also – the wind picked up and we could hear thunder in the distance

to the West.

In the distance – sort of pink clouds – but overhead – dark gray!

Lightening began and then the rain came!

The wind picked up – looking out the front window – I could see the major portion of the storm –

coming over the hills toward us – flashes and then the thunder.

The electric went out!

The rain came in hard – beating against the front windows!

The lights came back on!

The thunder continued and flashes of lightening!

Did not seem to phase the newest member of the family – MARLEY!

The electric went out several times and came back on – the rain got harder – later we learned trees had come down

and one house was struck by lightening out Winchester way and burned down.

It was a severe storm – first one of the late spring – and then the lights went our for good!

We all decided after it calmed down – with no lights but still a little daylight to see –

to just go to bed while we still could see.

Later – the electric came back – I think it was out a couple hours – and then we had to get up and turn lights off!

A eventful first night back at our daughters house in Leesburg Va.

Papa’s World – little Krohn puppy – Marley( she) and I – dog sitting!

She is a GOLDENDOODLE – all legs and a cute face that you become attached to!

She is ten weeks old and named Marley – the newest addition to Tammy and Marcus’s family!

They have wanted a dog for years – at least the kids have.

But – I feel deep down – this is Tammy’s Dog! LOL

Marley – she just flops down where ever she is and looks at you with those puppy eyes!

Everyone was gone – kids in school – Tammy and Marcus at work – Sherry meeting friends for lunch and me with Marley – the whole time I had her outside in the fenced in back yard – she would go and hide in the bushes!

Peaking out at me – and when I went over – she thought it a game and would move to another bush!

She really is a sweet puppy – but still a puppy – she has sharp little teeth – and barks really loud!

It was warm outside and she sought out the shade – she would look at me and when I whistled – would come running up to me – licking my legs and hands and wagging her whole body!

But – she is a puppy and like a little child – you have to watch everything she does – chewing – peeing –

It is more challenging than baby sitting! LOL

Marley – under the bush – the other side is a drain spout and wet – she would go there and roll in the mud and dig!

Marley – waiting for me to let her back into the house – she seemed to have had enough for a while!

She wants to go back inside and will lay at the top of the steps and sort of cry!

Then when you go up to her – she gets all excited and licks you as you open the door and inside she goes!

The next morning we walked the beach after the storm and then decided to go back to the condo and pack up the chairs – some drinks and food – music and relax on the beach – RETIREMENT!!!!!!

The beach was not crowded at all being early in the week.

We choose our spot and set up the chairs – took a little walk to test out the water –

But – on either side of us – people had music – loud enough that it interfered with what I had –

So – I just put mine away and listened to theirs – two different types! LOL

Watching them para-glide right off shore – four boats out there – two up by us and two farther south.

We could watch then load and unload the people – hardly stopping – and the crowd on the beach was picking up!

After a night before with thunder and lightening storms with high winds –

this day was calm – sunny – blue skies with white clouds!

Cleared my mind and was a relaxing mid afternoon!

Papa’s World – Finally the two Swans returned – by themselves – no babies!

They have been missing for about five weeks – I would catch a glimpse of them to the left of the lanai

Around the bend and through the shrubs and trees – once in a while

Sometimes I would mistake them for the lone swan –

But then I would see it futher down the lake.

Thought maybe they had a nest and were nesting little ones back in the marsh.

The two mated swans are in the top left of the picture while the lone swan is in the middle right of the picture – the first time I had seen all three in over a month!

But – there were no babies and the geese have tons of babies –

So – I do not know why they disappeared and seemed to glimpse them every once in a while through the trees.

That part of the lake is undeveloped and is marsh – swamp – trees and water – not the type of place you want to wade

through or even boat in there – at least I wouldn’t!

I was disappointed in no baby swans but happy in that the were back!

They still would have nothing to do with the lone swan.

This is as close as they would let it come!

Then – last week – a man showed up in a small skiff – he comes once in a while to fix the fountains –

the one we see that is close to us in the middle of the lake – gets clogged up and quits –

I have watched him a half dozen times come in and go to it and unclog it!

This time as he was coming down the lake – I watched the two swans take flight –

beating their wings against the water and become airborne –

they circled around and headed over the houses to the left –

There is another lake over there – I think they went there as they were frightened by the man and boat.

After that we went for a walk on the beach – and have not seen the two swans since!

I have seen turtles by the hundreds – a otter – some very large fish – a eagle several times -osprey – cranes – herons – egrets – storks –

And the three swans when all here.

A place that when you wake up with the sliding glass doors open – you hear the songs of the birds.

Papa’s World – A mail box on the beach entrance and a journal – FELLOW TRAVELER

It started out with a warm morning – but a breeze early and a beautiful dawning of another day.

We decided to walk early – before it gets too hot!

So – we started out and went to the 10th. avenue beach entrance –

the one where they held EASTER SUNRISE SERVICE on the beach which we attended and I wrote a blog about!

Upon walking the walkway to the deck and stairs – we found a new addition!

It was a MAIL BOX with “FELLOW TRAVELER” painted on top!

Inside was a note book – journal – and already half full with notes from FELLOW TRAVELERS!

There also is one at the end of Sunset beach that was in the news –

I had read about it and how it had been there for 40 years!

And the journals are in a historical museum to be preserved!

Sherry took the journal out and already it is half full of splendid notes and thank yous!

Many interesting reads and dates – so she added her own!

I think this is a wonderful idea.

We continued our walk onto the beach – with fantastic calming skies!

Papa’s World – Drywall done – cabinets in – tile next – getting close!

We pulled up to the front of the house – DRYWALL in the trash bin!

You see – there has been a delay and shortage in drywall – all over the country –

which has held up our completion by a month! Along with inspectors and inspections!

I was excited as this meant the drywall was being put in!

When I walked into the garage – it had the first coat of MUD on!

Then – I went inside and it was all done – first coat of mud – we were back on schedule after four weeks!

It has been a long four to five weeks with hardly any progress – but we prayed and it is now moving forward.

Looking toward the front from the sun room – to the left – hallway – entrance to the bedrooms and bathroom – middle is outer wall to the office – and to the right hallway to laundry room and garage. Open space is vaulted living room.

And two days later when we visited – the mud on the dry wall was completed – sanded – and we had CABINETS!

We are excited – they told us tile is going in – grading outside – doors to be hung.

Now there is a delay and shortage on PAINT!

Because of the ICE STORM in Texas and the Pandemic.

They told us they would continue doing the things they could until they got the paint.

Our new community – Cameron Woods – Ocean Isle Beach – mainland side – LOT # 89!

We are happy – moving forward -perhaps by the time this posts – we will have a move in date!

Our lot is backed by trees that will not be cleared – it is deemed protected wetlands.

We will have lots of roads to walk and new trails going in.

Almost all the purple area has been sold years ago – but no one has seemed to build on them –

maybe a half dozen really big homes!

We do not know why – investment?

You can buy lots there from individuals for a hefty price!

For now it remains paved roads – old growth shaded trees and street lights – utilities

and beautiful green areas and ponds.

Papa’s World – When they were little – now one in college – one to start in fall – one into H.S.

A few short years ago – Maddy ( finished Sophomore college) Ella – (enter college in fall) all grown up now!

Maddy has been named to third team in her conference playing soccer – as a Sophomore she was in the top five on her team in four different categories –

Ella – is playing her last soccer for her senior year – undefeated – and aiming for states. She is one of five or six off her team to have signed letters of intent to play in college – she will be attending Randolph College and in the same conference as Maddy.

Ella – Papa – Maddy – it seems like just yesterday – we were the support team for their mother and father and uncle and Tammy and Sherry running the ten mile Cherry Blossom Race in Washington D.C. – where we stationed ourselves to welcome them all across the finish line! Here we are in our front yard before we left for D.C. They were troopers – following me around – standing up on a bench so they could watch the race! Carrying clothes – back packs – water bottles – everything needed for the finish line that day in May.

As the years passed – Sarah came along – the baby little sister – always making the older two laugh.

She has a way about her – always the forefront of fashion.

Wants her grandma to take her to N.Y.C. to see Broadway and shows!

Sarah – Maddy – Ella and Papa – Christmas eve waiting to go to bed – and wake up for Christmas morning!

I miss those special times – all three sitting at the top of the stairs – waiting for their parents to get up – smiling – laughing – such great kids and polite.

Today – we are scattered – us being in S.C. Maddy – coming home from Lynchburg Va.

Ella completing her senior year of H.S. and Sarah about to enter H.S.

Papa with Maddy at one of her early travel team games – she went on to driving herself 65 miles each way for practice three times a week to join a more elite travel team where we lived in Loudoun county , Va. catching the eye of college coaches – now playing at The University Of Lynchburg in Va.

Thinking back to the early years – the smallest one out there with a skill set – determination and quickness. I always thought she should of gone into track as she ran a 5:40 mile and did not train much!

Now – today all three are so tall – athletic – Maddy at 5 ‘ 6″ Ella at 5′ 8 1/2 ” and Sarah almost to 5’ 8″ ( 15 years old soon)

I miss those days of the three little ones – giggling – laughing – on the trampoline – hiking – soccer – dance – running –

being little girls – climbing up into my lap – singing songs as I picked them up!

Today – they are young ladies with their grandma – the little ones are gone but not forgotten – MEMORIES!

Papa’s World – friends – the pier – Barefoot Landing – Crooked Hammock Brewery!

Next to last day – Papa Bob Pam Sherry – near their campground and RV. A visit to Apache Pier!

We had so much to pack in so little time – touring – seeing the house – Mother’s day – catching up – FRIENDS!

Their RV and campground was down the beach about a mile and one half.

They could see this pier from their beach so we decided to drive to it and just take a look around.

Just beyond these tall buildings – 21 to 25 years ago – Sherry and I spent I think three different vacations here!

We would walk up the beach and past this pier to the campground.

So we knew what was here and have many fond memories of her parents – sister and my sister and brother in law here. We also spent vacation time here with friends Steve and Elaine. Our friends from back home in WNY!

Bob and Pam – Bob and I went to grade school – middle school and high school together – life long friends – and got back in touch after one of our H.S. reunions – he had moved to New Hampshire away from Pa. and NYS. Keeping in touch is like normal best buddies do when life comes along – only seeing them at special times – a lot of years in between but memories and laughs renewed!

Here we are at The Crooked Hammock Brewery in Barefoot Landing in North Myrtle Beach.

We have come to really like this place and Sherry actually likes some of the beer!

Papa’s World – Mother and Daughters – Sherry – Debby and Tammy! Beautiful inside and out!

Dreams – mother and daughters share the DREAM!

They laugh – cry – hold one another – all the while sharing life together – even though they are 300 miles apart

The bond exists each and every day!

Debby – the oldest – Sherry – known as Grandma and MorMor – Tammy – the youngest.

When we decided to move to NVA in 1999 – Tammy decided right away to follow us down to Va.

In one years time – Debby moved with her husband and small one year old daughter Maddy!

They have always been near each other – 3 hours away and no further.

Sherry decided to become a CERTIFIED HEALTH COACH – and start her own business from home –

As a away to supplement her retirement income – it worked and she retired early!

Network marketing – in HEALTH and NUTRITION!

Today – that business thrives and allows us the freedom to travel –

move and build a new home.

In that same since – 15 years ago – Debby decided to do the same – with two young children –

And moving out to the country as it was cheaper to live – she also followed her mothers footsteps!

She became a CERTIFIED HEALTH COACH – and started her own business from home –

And surpassed her mother!

Today – they both lead “TEAM GENERATIONS” – promoting health and nutrition for families and children.

During that time – Tammy married – had twin girls and then our first grandson!

She also followed her mother into the Health and Nutrition field – establishing her own home based business.

Along the way she quit her job and opened up a Upscale children’s consignment shop –

And has recently added another home based business – promoting healthy eating!

She now runs three business’s!

And it is because she is her mother’s daughter!

IMAGINE – ACT – EMULATE – LEAD – DUPLICATE – SUCCEED – SUCCESS!

The story of Mother and Daughters – although now 300 miles away – following her in her footsteps –

always in contact – we visit and they visit – zoom – text or call.

Promoting HEALTH and NUTRITION – one child – one day at a time.

Toasting to MOTHER’S DAY with good friends – Bob and Pam and Sherry! CHEERS!

We had planed this little get together for some time now.

They had been in Florida for the winter in their RV.

Moving around down there and then working their way back North.

They were in a campground eight miles from the condo’

So for three whole days – we gave them a tour – but the first day was Mother’s Day.

After their arrival we went down and joined them – sitting around – talking – and we stopped and brought them salads.

Then it was for a very quick walk on the beach where they were camping!

It was so WINDY – we took this picture and headed back to the campsite.

A lot of self control in not staying on the beach for a walk! LOL

The next day we picked them up – toured our new home and discovered the drywall had been installed!

Here – we are at Oyster Rock on the ICW in Calabash N.C. where we had reservations for dinner.

Charter and fishing boats – they provide fresh catch for these places – including Oyster Rock – on their menus.

Papa’s World – before the pandemic – Sarasota Fla. Loved this city! Just too far away!

Papa and Sherry – hugging a tree in Sarasota , Florida – we had considered moving here – but it was just too far to drive for family and friends and for us to go back home without flying.

Then the Pandemic hit and it never came back into the discussion again.

But – I really liked it here and if we came to Florida – this would be my first choice!

I do not remember the name of the garden but it is city center – and a beautiful place to walk!

We were among huge old growth trees – a lot of shade and a sort of tree – boardwalk that wound its way

in and through the tree branches!

Papa’s World – a evening with friends golfing Magnolia Greens – late dinner!

A bright sun rise to a eventful full day of walking – getting ready – visiting the storage unit – and finally – teeing off!

Buck on the first tee at 4:40 pm. We were golfing late – Cindy had a lot of stuff to do at work!

So – the plan was made – golf nine – eat dinner and then go home!

We could of stayed with them – but – lugging all the stuff I need – my sleep machine etc. just easier to drive the hour plus drive back to the condo – besides – plenty of more times exist in the future!

We played our scramble format – Buck and me – they played best ball – WE LOST!

Now – we lost two holes to them – one by one stroke and one by two strokes!

We play even up – and we tied the other seven holes.

But – on the hole we lost by one stroke – we parred – they birdied!

On the one we lost by two strokes – they parred and we four putted – just the way it goes!

Cindy – birdie putt – made it – we parred – they are so good!

We have played this format for years and years – we at one time played couples vs couple – then we played mixed couple vs. mixed couple – but the gals challenged us – the other ways split pretty even – this way – THEY WIN!
