Papa’s World – MARRIED – 6-25-1982 – life with SHERRY!

This sums up our commitment to each other – our life is based on the foundation of the Church of the Rock –

That is what Pastor Dan – our minister who presided over that ceremony all those years ago said.

6-25-1982 – 42 years ago – the day we both said “I DO”!

Combining two sets of families into one – both divorced – her two daughters –

and my two sons who we had on weekends.

It was not easy – we had no money – both working for the same company –

but we had “FAITH”!

I converted to Lutheran from Catholic –

And we attended Bethel Lutheran Church in Portville, N.Y. where we were married.

Those were both hard years from the standpoint of money – but also fun years in trying

to take the kids on vacations – in a big passenger van!

Sherry – at the resort for our honeymoon in the Dominican Republic –

We had scraped and saved for a year and one-half to do this.

Neither of us had been out of the country and we drove from Portville, N.Y. –

to Toronto, Canada to fly out.

I shall always remember that week – and then back to reality –

Working and trying to save money.

Debby – Tammy and Sherry – after they went to college and started their own families.

My two sons after they started their own lives.

Our happiness is based on love for one another and those around us.

And now the grandkids – when they were little – love this picture as it was captured on vacation

at the beach – the way they sat all together.

Today – life with Sherry has gone 42 years of marriage.

6-25-1982 to 6-25-2024 – Happy anniversary my dear – it has been a whole lot of years –

and THE CHURCH OF THE ROCK still exists in our minds and hearts.

Papa’s World – Life with Sherry!

Being married for 41 plus years and together for 43 years – you have to have a sense of humor –

which both of us have! LOL!!!!!

We dated for over a year before the engagement led to the wedding on 6-25-1982!

We had no money – both divorced – her two daughters – me two sons – who stayed with their mother.

A lot of road traveling in the early years to share custody both ways.

Our wedding day was on June 25, 1982.

We lived way out in the country – farmland all around us – very private – about two acres of grass to mow and the driveway was 1/10 of a mile long – that had to be mowed 8 feet on either side by hand that first Summer!

Debby – Sherry’s eldest – and Sherry’s father – Bill – first granddaughter of his to be married!

Today Debby has three daughters – Maddy – 23 – Ella – 20 and Sarah 17 –

Mike and Debby have been married for 28 years –

Her father Bill was like a second father to me as I lost my own father when I was 19.

Here we are with five granddaughters – taken before the only grandson – Bode.

Sarah – Maddy – Ella – Cassidy and Taylor – before they could walk.

Today Bode and his mother Tammy – Bode is nine years old.

Sherry with Tammy and Debby and Maddy’s boyfriend – Kendrick and all the grandkids.

Papa’s World – The “TECHIE” I am not !

Anything that has to do with computers – phones – TV’S –

Do not ask me – I don’t know – I can not figure it out –

AND MOST OF ALL – I DON’T CARE !

That would suit me just fine

I just do not have it –

first of all – I have no patience –

that is why I hate working on cars !

Now – once I am shown and if I write it down and do the task a couple times

I am good to go !

This would be me !

I think the first computer we had was a H.P. – great big thing –

Sherry showed me what to do and I was fine – EXCEPT –

Something ” ALWAYS” happened –

honest to God – it was not me !

Take care of all the small things – the big things will take care of themselves

Little things – like the other day – I have a automatic sign on for my email’s.

I clicked on it and BINGO – it no longer would come up –

I had to LOG IN again with that dreaded

” PASSWORD ” !

So – I DO NOT REMEMBER such a thing – so I opened my book –

where I keep my pass words that I CAN NOT REMEMBER –

And started the PROCESS –

” BINGO” –

IT WOULDN’T WORK !

It doesn’t matter – memory or write it down

So – Sherry – who has her office upstairs –

mine is the kitchen table –

I am very humble !

I yelled upstairs –

“I CANNOT OPEN MY EMAILS ” !!!

” WHAT DID YOU DO NOW ” ? she replied.

Exasperated look comes across my face – I slowly shake my head –

“IT ISN’T ME ” I replied !

” IT IS ALWAYS YOU ” comes the voice

from the commander in chief from above !

WHAT ??????

Down she comes –

and instructs me to ” LOG IN ”

which by the way I had already done FOUR TIMES !

Now – I try to explain – I try to say –

“IT DID IT ON IT’S OWN ” !

“NO – HON – IT DOES NOT DO IT ON IT’S OWN ” like a mother to her child!

“LOG IN & PUT YOUR PASSWORD IN ” !

I do

( said that a long – long time ago )

” YOU ARE NOT SUPPOSE TO USE A HASH TAG SIGN”? she scolds.

” EXCUSE ME – IT IS NOT A HASH TAG SIGN – IT IS A POUND SIGN” !

NOT ME – I KNOW BETTER

Then – she sits down after I tried once again and failed !

Now – you have to know – when we go somewhere –

I DRIVE !

And she uses her phone to give directions –

I am terrible on direction .

She is going to use her phone anyway – so it might as well be for directions

is what I think !

And – we never go the same way twice –

so I have no idea how to get to where we are going !

I told you – I am okay as long as it is consistent –

GO THE SAME WAY !

We – have to EXPLORE as she says -so –

I DRIVE – SHE DIRECTS – ALL IS WELL !

( grand daughters think this is HILARIOUS)

they take my part !

She then proceeds to enter my sign in and password –

” IT DOES NOT WORK” I said !

“WHY DID YOU CHANGE YOUR PASSWORD ” she asks ?

Well – by this time I refrain

and go to my only thought I have had for 37 years –

“IT IS NOT FOR ME TO QUESTION WHY – BUT FOR ME TO DO OR DIE “

” ME “

She then goes INTO the computer –

preforms all type of ” THINGS”

And asks me for a password I can remember –

SO I GIVE HER THE EXACT SAME ONE AS BEFORE !

And this time it works !

HONEST TO GOD !

She gets up and says to me

” YOU ARE NOT SUPPOSE TO USE A HASH TAG ” !

UNDER MY BREATH I MUTTER

” IT’S A POUND SIGN ” !

Time for a beer !

Papa’s World – Sherry and I went to Eagles Nest to golf – a relaxing four hours – good course.

Eagles Nest – Little River – North Myrtle Beach.

We had stopped here over the weekend – as we have driven by it hundreds of times!

Two entrances and finally I just turned in and followed the road for about a mile.

And then we were there – EAGLES NEST GOLF COURSE!

What we found out later – was this is the longest course in S.C.

and maybe the longest I have EVER played!

The back tee box – if you play that – the course is over 8200 yards long!

And full of beautiful scenes such as these!

There are many marsh areas such as this – did not see any snakes or gators!

It was more like this most holes!

We were teamed up with a father & son.

We introduced ourselves – we had not planned on playing with anyone.

But – after the first hole awkwardness

It turned into a fun day!

I had watched my wife and how she was hitting.

I noted that she was doing everything right except two things!

I told her to tee her ball up a little back in her stance –

and to always tee it up the same height.

She was coming over the top on her ball – still hitting it good but not as far as she has.

This green – she hit the cart path – this hole for her was 299 yards – after I adjusted her stance and tee height – she ripped one down the right side and it hit the cart path and followed it toward the green – we searched and searched where we thought it had gone – the two guys we were with found it! It was laying just off the green on this side along the cart path. It had gone 299 yards!

And – I might add – she beat me by FIVE STROKES on the front nine!

So much for me showing her what to do! LOL!

After I showed her the adjustment – with her ladies tee – she was out driving the rest of us!
And she continued her good play – she also beat me the second nine!

Just a word to our friends – Cindy and Buck – the ladies have to give us strokes from now on! LOL

They are just too darn good!

The ever changing days – sun – clouds overcast!

Living life one day at a time!

The morning view from the lanai!

Ever changing the days at the beach.

The stillness on the water reflections of calmness

Each day has been different –

some wind – on the beach – but calmness here at the condo.

We walk every day if it is not raining

so far in almost a week – no rain!

The sky is moody – gray with white streaks

storms are out there somewhere

But blue sky peeking through

surf coming in or already going out!

Time has come to leave the beach

still gray – still a storm way out there

Reflected sand looking like sky!

Now – the beach walk is over

we continue on our way back to the condo.

EVEN THE DAYS OF OVERCAST ARE BEAUTIFUL!

I wonder where these people think they are right!

There are so many inconsiderate people out there driving.

They pass you on the right in turn lanes –

They pass you on the left and then cut in front of you

to take the exit!

They tail gate – they constantly blow their horns at other people

This scares you if you do not know what is going on!

Just a pet peeve with me!

Let food be your medicine – let medicine be your food!

Finally – after almost 40 years –

I started eating healthy!

My wife – Sherry – started me on the road to health.

She and I had gone to NBC for your health –

at the Washington DC convention center.

There she found what was to become our staple

Juice Plus – over 30 fruits – vegetables and berries JUICED!

All the nutrients after drying in a patented formula

put into capsules or gummy’s.

The next best thing to real food

and you take them every day!

Being nice – being friendly – being polite – being helpful!

I post every day on social media and I write a blog everyday.

Three things I post everyday.

Good thoughts – smiles and laughter – positive thoughts!

I try to not post political – really hard not too!

My thought on that is my VOTE!

Making changes that way and peaceful protest –

writing letters and postcards.

But – my motto so to speak is above –

IT’S IMPORTANT TO BE NICE!

I LOVE MY WIFE – ALL THE DIFFERENT PERSONALITY’S!
