Papa’s World – GOOD HUMOR and LAUGHS!

In day-to-day life – so much negative news floats about – theories – untrue stories –

I try every day to ignore such things – if I want to know – I fact-check – otherwise –

I pay no attention to it – LIFE IS TOO SHORT to become involved with all the “NOISE”!

I look for the funny side of life – I marvel at history and discoveries –

I would love to be involved in a dig for history and finds!

Help one another – share good vibes and humor!

I would be rich! LOL

Life is about discoveries of friends – love for families and seeing one another as often as you can.

The epitome of success in my book is the friendships you have and care about!

I take pictures for memories – looking back fondly on those memories.

I am selective on who I allow to post on my page – I do not like political posts either way.

I do not want to be convinced or shown what that person believes to be right or wrong!

But – many funny posts on Facebook make me laugh or smile – those I like.

Keeping up with friends – neighbors and family –

What makes me smile will be the ones who remain on my site!

Many people are going through health issues today – especially in our age group of BABYBOOMERS!

So many are selling and using cash here in the Carolinas to downsize and live the dream life!

Stay positive – we found ours and yours could also be here.

We left the hustle and bustle of traffic – the roads clogged and people rushing to and from work –

to find peaceful living here – it can and does get busy –

but being in traffic at 35 MPH vs. 65 MPH is way better!

We attempt to play golf – it is a form of relaxation for me – being out in nature – now I am not that good –

I struggle at times – hit a couple good shots and then all goes South! LOL!

But – it is that next great one that brings me back for another go at it!

I know my limits but still at times I try the next to impossible – and when I hit it and make the shot –

all that came before is soon forgotten and that one shot remains in my memory!

I hope today my blog brings some joy – humor and laughter your way –

Papa’s World – Sunday afternoon golf with friends.

One of my trials and tribulations – I am terrible at putting!

We got together on Sunday afternoon to golf at Colonial Charters Golf Course –

Which was our first time there.

It was a narrow but fun course and we golfed with our close friends – Buck and Cindy!

Cindy – Sherry and Buck – live at Magnolia Greens Golf Course in Leland, N.C.

about 33 miles from us.

We have been friends since the late 80’s.

Neighbors before they moved South some 6 or 7 years before we did.

Buck teeing off – we generally play a scramble – this day we shot a 38-40 – for a 78 – good for us.

Our first time playing this course and it was both challenging and fun.

We all have what is called THE FIRST TEE – which gives us a discount on 52 different courses!

Every week or two we meet up with old friends – we were neighbors back in WNY – to golf.

They live about 35 miles away in Leland, N.C.

We have stayed in touch even though they moved South some 26 years ago!

Sherry and Cindy – on the golf cart at Leopards Chase in Ocean Ridge, N.C.

One of four courses right across the street from where we live in Cameron Woods Community.

The courses are known in the area as THE BIG CATS courses as they all have names of the big cats of the world.

We have been golfing together for about 30 years.

We have traveled the world with them on trips –

and all over the country.

Buck and I have been friends for almost 40 years.

Today he is my golfing partner – we play the girls in a scramble and they usually beat us!

Papa’s World – little things here and there!

We now have had “THREE SLEEPS” in our new digs!

And are loving everything we have been doing lately!

I have always loved it here – and we have visited for the past 20 years.

Sunset over the golf course and pond at Buck and Cindy’s house.

And the very second day evening – we saw “ALLIE”!

Whom for the past five or so years we have seen numerous years!

It is a six foot or more Alligator that seems to live in these ponds!

Buck has seen him twice grab a rabbit and a goose!

So – we are aware – and stay back from the edge!

We walk – play golf – laugh – talk

as we have been friends for 34 years or more

they were our neighbors back in WNY before they moved to NC.

Then we moved to NVA and we visited back and forth.

Now – we are looking from Wilmington NC to the border of SC.

They are huge Buffalo Bills fans as we once were!

Now – since we sold our house

are beginning to follow them once again!

We enjoy outings – much the same as they do!

Beach is our calling!

Laughing – talking – playing cards –

and the last few times we have been together

WATCHING SCHITT$ CREEK!

We have watched it all one time and started watching it again.

We do celebrate special occasions

like birthdays

and special get togethers

Golfing!

Yes – Cindy brings shots of Rum Chata!

Whenever we birdie or sometimes for a par!

We do like to have fun – laughs and good times.

Playing golf games – GUYS VS GALS!

They are tough – always down the middle

always putting for at least a par or birdie.

Now – I never know WHERE my ball will land! LOL

So – it makes for fun times!
