Papa’s World – Watching the BILLS at the LAZY PIRATE

We traveled to Carolina Beach, N.C. to the LAZY PIRATE – A BUFFALO BILLS BAR!

Being from WNY – we were fans of the BILLS from the mid-’80s to when we left in 1999!

We still follow them and try to watch them on TV.

Sometimes we know where different BILLS bars are and go to watch.

Our close friends Buck and Cindy were our neighbors back in WNY and moved first to Leland, N.C.

Through all these years they remain staunch BILLS fans.

Our neighbor Diane and her husband Steve are both from WNY and have a cottage on Rushford Lake where they spend their summers.

A perfect venue to watch the games and of course when they score the song “SHOUT” is played and everyone joins in.

We finished golf – changed and headed out to Carolina beach –

to the LAZY PIRATE – a sports bar – open air – covered

wild Buffalo Bills bar !

The Lazy Pirate

During our many years back in NYS – we were Bills fans –

all through the years up to the four super bowls

and beyond.

For three years after we moved – we tried to follow them.

But – alas – in the DC area – they were not to be found

unless we went into the city every Sunday

to find the Bills places !

This was and is Redskins country !

How ever our friends remained
loyal followers
and no matter what
find the game somewhere
each and every Sunday !
The crowd is picking up !
They kept filing in !

I was surprised – I met and talked to people from back home

All with their red- white and blue

true Bill’s fans !

Even met Eric – who was in a band for ten years
with a lady both Sherry – Jim and I worked with
at the tile plant
in Olean NY.

and corn hole in the yard !

We had planned this for some time –

Spend a long weekend with friends –

And we have been friends for 37 years !

We would arrive first – Jim and Dottie would arrive late at night !

So – we planned to have dinner on the beach –

Carolina Beach N.C.

The weather was overcast – windy but warm !

And people were in the water – surfing and swimming !

We stopped at a place Cindy had said was very good –

Dinner on the beach

Smashed red potato’s – corn on the cob – coleslaw and steamed shrimp

already shelled !

In Old Bay Seasoning !

It was really good –

Plus we had a few drinks with us !

A storm was rolling in –

Wind picked up –

chairs blew over

so we cleaned up and packed up
