Papa’s World – Writing for family!

Sherry’s father – “Bill”!

A WWII vet –

And a master craftsman in building furniture!

He made three Hutches –

One for each daughter –

They come in two pieces –

The top has glass fronts and doors.

The bottoms have wooden doors and shelves.

The upper also has shelves where you can display your fine china, etc.

He was self-taught –

And would use a small piece of paper to roughly draw his creations –

And then from his mind –

Cut and plane the wood –

Making dove tails and smooth surfaces for staining.

He was also a union carpenter.

We have three of his pieces in our home.

I write this for all the great-grandchildren who did know him.

A journal of generational information for future generations to come.

Here is Sherry’s mother and father –

Barb and Bill.

Her mother’s mother was born in Sweden.

There are still relatives over there.

Barb was known to the grandkids as “GIGI”!

She married Bill when she was 17.

They had three daughters –

Sherry, the oldest, then Debbie, and finally Bonnie.

They all lived just outside Mount Jewett, PA.

On several acres of land, farm animals were growing up, including horses.

Mount Jewett was a Swedish community-

Built by Swedes in the mid-1800s.

Her father was Scotch-German.

Many fond memories of both her parents.

Bill was raised in Ludlow, PA.

And enlisted in the service for WWII.

A JOURNAL OF GENERATIONAL INFORMATION.

When friends gather on the beach.

We live near two beaches-

Sunset Beach and Ocean Isle Beach.

This is a view from Sunset Beach looking North to OIB and the tall building!

We often meet folks and sit and talk near either pier.

We both wanted a warmer climate-

And as little snow-ice and freezing weather –

We still have four seasons here, but much milder.

Marcus and Tammy were early in their marriage.

They now have the twin girls –

Cassidy and Taylor –

And the only boy grandchild – Bode-

The twins are in High School,

And Bode is finishing elementary school

Going into middle school.

Golfing with decades-old friends!

Buck and Cindy.

We now live 38 miles from them and often get together.

Papa’s World – In The Villages – The Eisenhower Center.

Bob and Pam – their first visit to the Eisenhower Center in the Villages.

They did not know this existed.

Sherry and I have seen this several times.

My brother Roger introduced us to it when we stayed with him in the winter.

It is quite the experience,

and a lot of the items are donated by the servicemen and women themselves.

Pam and Papa-

This is a walk-through history of President Eisenhower –

And WWII veterans.

I would put it on a bucket list if you visit the Villages.

Bob – Pam – Sherry and Papa.

We arrived here by golf cart, which we rented for the day.

Using an app on the phone –

We were able to navigate via cart paths between Lake Sumpter and Brownwood –

and back to Lake Sumpter again.

Take in the sights along the paths!

I think the clubhouse was called Sea Breeze,

But not sure.

It was a day on which we rode for six to seven hours on the cart paths in the golf cart.

If you visit the Villages –

I would suggest that you rent a cart –

It was not all that expensive,

and it comes with a full tank of gas.

You do not have to refill it.

Bob and Papa –

I was the navigator, and we did make a few errors! LOL!

THE EISENHOWER CENTER at THE VILLAGES!

Thanks for reading and HGD!
