Papa’s World – Memories – Looking around!

The day started early – we hopped on the Metro and rode it to Arlington Cemetery!

Sherry and I –

Took the oldest granddaughters, Maddy and Ella –

On a day trip into Washington, D.C.

No car and no transportation other than the Metro train to arrive and depart.

Here we are at ARLINGTON CEMETERY!

We walked and toured the unknown soldiers’ tomb –

Kennedy’s grave and numerous other sites.

The eternal flame and in the background –

The house of Robert E. Lee before he left to command the Confederate army for the South!

Maddy on the left and Ella on the right!

While not pictured here –

We walked across the 14th Street Bridge and came up on “ROLLING THUNDER – Thousands of motorcycles!

The girls were so excited to see both the history and all the bikes coming by!

They still have these memories of their youth and of being with their grandparents.

We spent a lot of time in D.C. touring –

All the grandkids have experienced this with us.

Ella and Maddy are approaching the steps to the Lincoln Memorial!

I have asked them both if they remember this day.

And both laughed and said The WALKING TOUR?

And both remembered almost everything about it!

The day Sherry and I took Ella and Maddy on a tour of Arlington Cemetery and Washington, D.C.

Papa’s World – The BUNKUM STONE in Ashville!

As we were walking to go to the Bus Comedy Tour – we came across THE BUNKUM STONE and this plaque explaining what it was and I found it interesting!

Buck – Cindy and Sherry in front of the house and the stone along the street!

Little finds such as this are why we explore different areas and streets – you just never know what you will come across!

Exploring Ashville, N.C. with friends – finding the little-known places – here is one of them!
