Papa’s World – where did the Summer go – now – we wait for Winter !

Our Patio
Marcus Bode Taylor Cassidy
and Sherry
they call her MORMOR
Swedish for Mothers Mother

Sadly – almost all our flowers in the Patio are gone-

Thrown away before we get a frost

It is cool in the mornings

mid to high 40’s low 50’s

That is cool for me

As you can tell – I am not a snow and cold person

My idea of weather is low 60’s at night

low to mid 80’s in day time.

Papa’s World – POSITIVE GOOD THOUGHTS!

I have always believed in equality for Women.

Sherry and I share jobs around the home.

However,

she won’t let me wash clothes or dry them! LOL

I can carry them into the laundry room

and take them out-

and back to the bedroom.

There – I fold my clothes and put them away.

Dishes – I hand wash some –

I stack the dishwasher –

I have a system for the dishwasher –

Each has its own place,

As does the silverware.

Since most of the time,

it is me who unloads it-

I like that it is organized –

so I can grab like items –

and put them away.

I also do most of the sweeping of the floors –

and run the vacuum.

She does most of the dusting!

We strip and make the bed together –

We both do the cleanups after guests have left.

It’s the little things in life that you do-

that eventually take care of the big things!

We choose the positive sides of life!

It is too short to live life-

with negative thoughts.

We both “LIVE LIFE TO THE PLUS”!

One time,

as we visited my brother in “THE VILLAGES” –

He showed us the VILLAGES magazine –

In it was this picture of Sherry and myself.

I had completely forgotten all about it.

On a previous visit to his house –

We were walking –

and stopped for an interview and a picture.

This was by the radio station in Sumpter Landing!

The radio guy also made a comment –

as he watched us from the big window overlooking the square.

Roger had saved the article –

and was so excited to show it to us.

THUS IT IS A PAST GOOD THOUGHT FOR US!

Ella had one admirer growing up, Bode.

He would shout and wave her on –

as she played soccer in high school –

and on Travel Teams.

Today, she is done playing –

and he now plays soccer himself –

and flag football-

as well as golf.

Maybe in the future,

the roles will be reversed.

BUT THIS PICTURE IS A GOOD THOUGHT FOR THE DAY!

Sherry with our friends-

Jo and Paul at the Vietnam Wall –

Reflections of honor –

for those who gave their lives.

A GOOD THOUGHT AND MEMORY!

Papa’s World – Friendship memories!

Reflections on the “WALL” in D.C. –

Paul – Sherry and Jo –

Paul graduated from the same H.S. that Sherry did –

And Jo graduated from the same H.S. I did.

We have visited their home in Tuscon –

and they visited our home in Brambleton, Va.

Here we are on one of our trips into D.C.-

We spent days walking the city.

Sherry and Jo to her left in front of the famous unfinished statue of great women.

It is unfinished until we have a woman President.

Great friends whom we visit when we can and they in return visit us.

FRIENDSHIP MEMORIES!

Jo – Sherry and Paul – “REFLECTIONS”!

Bob – Papa – Pam and Sherry.

This friendship goes back to grade school with Bob and Myself.

We played sports together – and stayed at each other’s houses.

Drank beer together – roamed the streets of Eldred after curfew.

Today, they stopped in for a week while they were RVING –

across the country.

FRIENDSHIP MEMORIES!

Jimmy – grew up in the same town as I did.

We played softball together –

He worked at the TILE PLANT the same as I did.

We both transferred to the South in the same company.

He to Va. Beach and me to NVA.

Dottie – taking the picture – married to Jim –

I attended their wedding before I met Sherry –

Also, Cindy was friends with Dottie and –

later we moved and became neighbors with her.

Sherry – Buck and Cindy – married – and Dottie –

Our longest and closest friends.

Blessed to have them in our lives.

We have traveled the World with Buck and Cindy.

FRIENDSHIP MEMORIES!

Our new friends we have met here-

in Cameron Woods Community.

Daine – Marcea – Bill – Ken – Mary Lou and Sherry.

We have been fortunate to meet people in this new location.

FRIENDSHIP MEMORIES!

Papa’s World – All gave some – Some gave ALL – THE WALL

Today – a emotional journey into the past –

THE VIETNAM MEMORIAL –

GOOD MORNING

Leaving the Lincoln Memorial and walking across the street –

past the little building selling items

in tribute to the WAR no one wanted !

Jo and Paul

The walk was quiet – people gathering – people taking pictures –

Sherry Jo Paul

We all had classmates on THE WALL –

a very divisive time in our young lives –

our middle to late teens –

being told that we would be OVER THERE in High School!

People gathered at THE WALL

My coach saying to us –

” YOU KNOW THAT YOU ARE GOING ” !!!

Living that for five years –

But for the grace of God – go I !

Jo Paul Sherry
capturing the name of a class mate

In my Senior year – I had a car accident –

I spent 51 days in the hospital –

not knowing if I would ever walk again

“BUT FOR THE GRACE OF GOD – GO I ”

Jo Paul Sherry

We all had some one to find – to honor – say a prayer –

Thank you for reading Papa’s World

REFLECTIONS OF YOURSELF

Jo Sherry Paul

When you gaze – when you search –

and then you see yourselves

gazing back – looking into your soul

And you know – for what reason –

They gave it up – and you shall never forget.
