Papa’s World – Year two – Cassidy is Santa’s Helper!

Last year was her first year helping Santa at a HOA Community outreach party!

She dresses up in her Santa Helper red dress and black leggings!

Cassidy – invited by her friend –

Attended the HOA event –

Handing out candy canes to all the children in line to sit and talk to Santa!

It seems like only yesterday –

Cassidy would have been one of those little children!

Here are Taylor and Cassidy in their neighborhood when Santa came on the firetruck.

The look of wonder from Taylor –

and the look of amazement from Cassidy.

Tugs at my heart that those times are long past!

I kind of identify with this! LOL!

She does this because –

she has a true heart of gold!

She is growing up so fast –

and I miss that little girl.

Here are the five granddaughters –

Three are now adults –

one has graduated from college-

A second will be shortly and the third will graduate from HS.

The twins will be 15 years old on their next birthday!

But for now,

I shall keep this image in my mind –

until she grows up even more!

Papa’s World – CHRISTMAS EVE!

The night before Christmas and all through the house—-

How many times have you heard that?

Christmas Eve –

a time of family – sharing and laughing.

Christmas Eve – services in a barn!

Gathering of family –

some drinks and cheer.

I remember the three oldest – waiting –

and outside was a hearty laugh –

dash to the big windows overlooking the trees –

and the backyard.

And there he was –

“SANTA” dashing through the yard!

Three little girls enthralled –

Those memories I shall always cherish –

and I know when they have children –

The above story will be related to those little ones!

The trip to bring home the tree –

Sometimes a journey into the tree farm woods –

to cut your own –

little eyes all aglow –

the smell of the pine sap-

and the snow on the ground.

Little hands helping-

and soon some hot chocolate –

was back in the kitchen’s warmth.

Time to set the tree up and decorate.

CHRISTMAS IS COMING!

Papa’s World – Golfing in the SANTA SCRAMBLE!

It was cool – 49 degrees – 32 four-person teams – (64 golf carts) 27 holes with a shotgun start – we only played 18 holes –

our very first SANTA SCRAMBLE at Magnolia Greens golf course in Leland, N.C.

Everyone was assigned a hole to go to at 10 am. and the carts were lined up in the parking area in the order they would leave

to get to the hole they would start on.

Everyone had red or green or both on and much more in celebrating Christmas and Santa.

Coffee or tea to warm us up and the plus side – NO WIND!

The course was in great shape and the grass was brown in its dormant state.

Papa – Cindy – Sherry and Buck – close friends for over 36 years. They live here in the neighborhood.

Getting ready to start – we had a way to drive to get to our hole to “T” off.

It was a fun day – while we did not finish near the top – we were not the bottom either – two teams posted a 57!!!!!

But we had fun – and dinner was provided –

It was our first scramble and we loved it.

Papa’s World – Playing a SANTA SCRAMBLE IN DECEMBER – practice!!!!

In early to mid-December – we are playing a SANTA SCRAMBLE with our friends at Magnolia Greens in Leland, N.C.

Hoping it is warm enough – so we practiced in the sunny mid-50s!

There was no wind and the sun felt warm!

Sherry and Cindy dressed warm – and for a couple holes Sherry’s jacket came off!

It was a fun time getting ready for the scramble later in December.

I know every once in a while I hit a MIRACLE shot – but they are few and far between – I seem to hit all those other shots!
