Papa’s World – In life, we live it one day at a time!

Good morning or whatever part of the day you read this.

As a senior well into our senior years-

We live each day to the plus.

Doesn’t matter what it is!

Simple trips to the store or doctor’s office.

Stopping at a big box store to find a little thing we might need.

Preparing for family or friends to visit.

Volunteering which we do.

All of a sudden –

Something happens to change that routine.

A unexpected fall from her bike!

As she was coming to a stop to get off –

Sherry lost her balance –

Over she went onto her left side!

She fractured her pelvis in two spots on that left side.

No – She will not give up!

She spent two days in the hospital –

Then seven days in rehab.

DETERMINED!!!!!

She has got this!

She went home and had excellent grades on her progress.

Now it is up to her with my help to progress!

Our daughter Debby came down!

Moral support and to help me.

Tammy could not come with three young children in school and her business to run.

But constant phone calls and facetimes were there daily!

Marcus and Tammy and Marley and the three kiddo’s!

The kids sent a card and flowers made out of pipe cleaners!

“WE LOVE YOU MORMOR”!

Which in Swedish Is MOTHERSMOTHER!

Our time together has always been these past 44 years plus-

TOGETHER as ONE!

This blog site represents that!

Its the simple things in life –

Now in our Senior years –

That trip to the doctor for follow up!

That walker and the road to Ferry Landing in OIB!

The ramp up to the deck at the Community Center on OIB –

To sit and just watch the beach, the ocean, and busy people!

This is our life in our Senior Years!

Life starts each day with the Simple Things!

She is healed and now we continue in living life one day at a time.

PEACE BE WITH YOU!

Papa’s World – The next step!

It was toward the end of May –

Sherry told me she was going to ride her bike up to the clubhouse!

About five minutes went by, and my phone rang.

A male voice asked if I was Tom – I said yes- “Your wife has had an accident with her bike – can you come to the clubhouse”?

I jumped into the car and up the street.

There she was – in the parking lot – lying on her back beside her bike!

A man, a child, and a woman stood there and said she had fallen sideways and onto her left side.

As I kneeled down, I asked her if she had hit her head, and she said no.

We were able to get her up and seated sideways in the back seat.

The man said he would wheel the bike to our address and put it on the front porch.

We headed to the Emergency room at McLeod Hospital.

After X-rays and a CT scan –

She fractured her pelvis on the left side in two places-

But no surgery would be required.

Two days in the hospital, and she was transferred across the street to the Tides rehab center.

Here she has had to undergo extensive rehab and learn to walk again.

They have been wonderful.

As of this writing, she has been there for almost seven days.

We have faith and HOPE!

This is a setback as she is 77 years old.

But – thank goodness it could have been much worse.

We have been together for over 44 years, married for almost two years before that.

This has been the longest time we have been apart.

So – we progress to “THE NEXT STEP”!

Whatever is ahead –

We will face it together.

Thanks for reading my blogs!
