Papa’s World – Ocean Isle Beach – Oyster Festival

Our first time here – we went on Saturday – hundreds of vendors – arts – crafts – homemade goods!

Also – food trucks – Oyster tents – beer tents – all types of food and drink and lots of people!

$5.00 per person to get in – live bands and music for two days on the main stage.

Our view of the stage and one of the live bands.

We had our own chairs and we paid for drinks.

There were many cool items for sale – many made by the vendors themselves.

There were shuttle buses but we paid $10.00 to park all day by the pier.

One-half bucket of Oysters was $25.00 and a full bucket was $40.00 – plus they had eating contests in the tent!

I do not eat raw Oysters but I like them baked or roasted.

We had a great first time going to the Oyster Festival.

Thanks for reading and as always HGD!

Papa’s World – Sherry took me to dinner for my birthday!

Sitting just inside – wind is strong – but we are celebrating my 5-7-4 9 birthday at Oyster Rock in Calabash, N.C.

Now I do not eat Oysters (raw) but decided to try them broiled! I will now have them again! These were so good!

Sherry had the fish TACO’S – which she said were very good – I recommend anyone who is in the area – to make reservations –

and Go to OYSTER ROCK to dine -it is GREAT!

Cukecumber Martini for Sherry – said it was very good – service here is out of this world!

My go to – draft beer – RED OAK – a local brewery – if they have it – I order it!!!!!!!

Oyster Rock in my opinion – is the best place to dine – love it here and the food is great and so is the service – overlooking water –

Fishing boats dock here and fresh catch everyday!

My Dinner – now this PORK CHOP was huge – so big I could not eat the french fries! A good 5 inches thick!

I will go back and have this again – biggest PORK CHOP I have ever had!

SHERRY TOOK ME TO DINNER FOR MY BIRTHDAY TO OYSTER ROCK, CALABASH, N.C.

Papa’s World – a little place to eat on the river!

MERROIR

Not sure just how you say this name –

I think it is French!

And it sits on what I think is still the Rappahannock River

or one of the many inland bays of the Chesapeake Bay.

My son in law had eaten here before.

But – where ever it is – I want to go back

As I had the best AHI TUNA I have ever eaten!

AHI TUNA

It must of been the seasoning – and it was done just right!

We had gone off the resort of The Tides –

because the day we arrived – their dining room was closed.

And Marcus and Tammy had been here before.

Not many people at all – we almost had the whole outside to ourselves!

And you could not sit inside.

SHRIMP & LOBSTER ROLL!

The little ones all had the shrimp and lobster roll along with Sherry.

She said it was very good!

Tammy and Marcus had the oysters as a appetizer

Now – I have never had a feeling to eat oysters

and I think that goes way back to my father

every Friday night – he had oyster soup!

And it just did not look good to me!

Bode almost made it

Bode wanted to try one –

but at the last moment gave it up to Taylor

and she ate it and gave it a THUMBS UP!

The view from our table

I think there were three other people there

but they also were doing a good take out business.

You could walk over and look into the kitchen from three sides.

And two ladies were busy cooking in there!

I recommend this place!

Sherry taking the three little ones to look into the bay where they saw a dolphin up close!
On the other side was a marina with tons of docked boats

I would imagine this being a very busy place

if it were not for the pandemic

Marcus and Tammy said when they were there last year

it was packed.

I hope it stays – I most likely will never get back there

BUT MERRIOR on the bay – remember that

and if you have a chance – stop in –

The pan seared AHI TUNA was out of this world!

And the sunsets weren’t bad either!
