Papa’s World – Spring thru Summer into Fall – so fast !

Good Morning
sip your coffee
time goes by
so fast !

It seems like yesterday it was Spring –

still some chill in the air –

Grass needed cut –

trees still bare-

and now it is Fall !

Our grand daughters
graduation H.S. Cap
Now she is two months into college
and playing soccer
going to classes

Yesterday it seemed she graduated –

This past weekend –

she came back home for the first time –

A young women – seeking her career –

and playing college soccer !

Spring our flowers
we actually save these year to year
pull them out end of October
shake them off
and put into bucket
and hang up in the garage

Geraniums
over five years old
saved year to year

My step father taught me that –

save them –

then clean up in Spring –

and replant them !

IT WORKS !

Papa’s World – AUSTIN TEXAS – Team Generations

It was early morning as I sat here at my computer –

3:10 AM.to be exact –

I heard from upstairs the first stirrings –

I was up because at 4:00 AM.

TEAM TOM as I am called

was loading suitcases and SIX WOMEN

into a van and driving them to

THE DULLES AIRPORT !

TEAM GENERATIONS would be going to Austin Texas !

Where in a few hours they would meet up with

12 more TEAM GENERATION members –

Attending the JUICE PLUS LIVE CONFERENCE for 3 /12 days !

Sherry has been doing this for almost 12 plus years –

and most times I am right there beside her –

But – this time I stayed behind to help out here

and my main job was as a driver both to and from the airport !

The opening is Thursday all day –

continues on all day Friday

and ends around noon on Saturday

Full of details and speakers on Health and Nutrition.

Saturday night is a party for 8000 attendee’s

Live music –

dancing – team bonding –

There also is team dinner’s

team scavenger hunt all over Austin

The Team did the Austin thing

even riding electric scooters !

Papa’s World – A brand new car – after SEVEN YEARS!

We bought our last car in 2013 –

and in seven years – 126,000 miles!

Yes – we do travel the roads –

and the main thing we wanted –

was gas mileage!

Our Prius V 3 wagon – Toyota – got 40 to 44 MPG!

That car had exceptional room when you put the seats down.

And we knew when we move to South Carolina for five months

along with everything we must take – the clubs also were going!

We could do it – but it would be packed to the ceiling

and we would not be able to see out the back!

This one – we wanted the Roof rack –

and then we went and bought a basket carrier and installed it!

We also ordered a soft side roof top carrier!

Our old car had no roof racks!

So now – we are in the learning process as this car does everything

and then some through your smart phone!

But – one thing we found out is that Sherry must have her phone

when we travel for her internet business

and it must be free to do this – so we plug in my phone

as I really do not like phones and mostly take pictures with mine! LOL

That way when we google maps – there is no interference

As we are driving and getting directions!

YES – I HAVE TO HAVE DIRECTIONS!

Or I will get lost!

This car also has a ton of safety features – which Sherry loves!

All pertain to driving – blind side – auto lights –

cruise control radar ( it can almost steer itself)

It will detect a car in front and behind you.

A wide vision when backing up with guide lines!

There are many – many more extras

and some we are just learning how to use!

The main thing is gas mileage – and this one has it!

Right now we are averaging 42 to 44 MPG!

And – even though I have not used it – POWER!

It has three different modes –

One is ECO – going back and forth from gas to battery!

Two is power – Gas only with a three speed manual transmission.

Three is battery – battery only – you can travel about 1 1/2 miles.

And it is fast going zero to sixty – if you want to.

Our Prius V wagon 3 served us well for seven years.

Now we have a road trip vehicle with storage on the roof

and storage – a little more room inside

and capable of good gas mileage!

Papa’s World – Eating healthy – staying active – turning 70

Me – 1967 – second shift – American Olean Tile Co.

WOW – 52 years ago – over one half century – and in a few days – 70 becomes the new norm and new start of a decade. So much has changed – so much has come and gone.

I started and ended my career with the same company 47 1/2 years later !

And it is were I met and married my second wife – we celebrate 37 years next month.

Sherry and I started dating in April of 1981 – we had found out in passing that we both were going through a divorce by accident. I worked in Shipping and she in payroll – as I was passing her desk – one of the other ladies said to me – “I hear you are getting a divorce” !

I answered ‘ YES” and then went my way – she quietly observed this and when she brought my shipping orders out – she told me ” I overheard . I am also getting a divorce” – to which I relied ” Then we should go and have a drink and talk about it ” !

That began a 15 month process of dating – engagement the following December at Christmas time – and marriage in June the following year. All the while juggling two divorces and inter mixing four children into one family. My two sons and her two daughters. WE DID IT ! Not easy – but the results have been fantastic. My two sons still live back in NWPA & her two daughters both followed us South to NVA. My son runs a energy company with state contracts for the elderly and my other son has joined him. One can build a entire house from the ground up – he did not get that from me – and the other is a ranked pool player in his spare time who travels the entire country winning his way to Vegas a half dozen times.

Our two daughters are also very successful – the eldest followed her mother into the health and nutrition field and most likely will attain National Marketing Director for the Juice Plus Company at the conference in Austin Texas in October. Our other daughter also followed their mother – but she – one year ago -opened up a franchise https://www.facebook.com/529KidsConsignLoudoun/ near where we live. She maintains both the Health & Nutrition business and her new

store which is coming up up the one year anniversary. In our very busy lives – we have managed to change our lifestyle in eating – giving up a lot of what I had eaten for 35 years or more.

Sherry is my rock and has been all these years – by accident we learned of one another’s dilemma – we ventured forward on a whim – and soon became friends – she is my best friend – we combined a family – and 13 years ago – she changed our lifestyle to a healthy one. She is the guiding force and well respected as a Certified Health Coach – she is a pillar to her TEAM -known and loved by all as “MAMA BEAR ” !

In a short while on 5 -7 -49 I will turn 70 years old – and another
WE WERE MET TO BE TOGETHER ” sign – she will turn 70 on 7 – 5 – 49 !!

We eat healthy – we love healthy and we promote health. Our family in NVA has followed us not only here – but also on the pathway of HEALTH & NUTRITION ! Soon – in October – the oldest will attain the highest level in the Juice Plus Company -living life to the plus as I call it.
