Papa’s World – Pool champ – my son – Shawn!

As of this writing of this blog-

He had won three tournaments in a row –

and has flown to Las Vegas as he earned his way there to compete-

With the best in the nation!

This is nothing new as he has been doing this for years!

He is a ranked player in the USA and Canada.

He also plays in team events –

And has won his way to Las Vegas for the team and singles.

Very proud of this young man –

As he owns and operates his own Auditing and Insulation business –

From State contracts to major power and energy companies –

He supplies the above.

By his side –

touring with him to all tournaments –

The love of his life – TRISHA – man and wife.

To you my son – CONGRATS!

Job in both pool tournaments and business life-

JOBS WELL DONE!

Papa’s World – Somewhere near Pawleys Island and Muriels Inlet – is “THE PIT”!

You look for the mailbox – sitting near the main drag – if you were not looking for it –

Well, you would just drive on by!

You turn right there and enter a long gravel drive – and then there you are-

“THE PIT” bar and grill and dive bar – a “LOCALS” hangout!

Huge LIVE OAK TREES – and then you see DOLLAR BILLS on those trees and on the facade of the building!

An extensive outdoor seating area with what looks to be a stage for music-

This day – a Thursday late afternoon – no one was outside – it was late January!

But – my neighbors Steve and Diane said this is a happening place in season!

WALK THROUGH THE DOOR and experience another – well – sight to behold.

MONEY makes the World go round?

YEP – not one inch on the walls or ceiling was bare –

MONEY WAS EVERYWHERE – WELCOME TO THE PIT!

LIGHTS – FANS – TV – BAR – all covered in what seemed autographed “DOLLAR BILLS”!

Even around the edge of the bar – money everywhere!

License plates – and dozens of driver’s licenses – are plastered everywhere!

We truly have found a “LOCALS BAR ” and a bar that draws tourists like a magnet!

Steve – Diane and Sherry – sitting at the bar for a drink – I know sometime in the future –

I will bring people back here – about an hour away from where we live!

Papa’s World – LITTLE ENTREPRENEUR ‘ S !!!

For the last two days – the twins –

Taylor & Cassidy –

have made bracelets –

out of those small multi – colored rubber bands.

They have set up their stand in our front sidewalk and also their own home.

And the youngest – four year old Bode – holds up a sign –

As each car passes by –

or anyone walking –

and yells out –

” GET YOUR BRACELETS – ONLY ONE DOLLAR EACH “

So far – Cassidy $11.00 Taylor $13.00

& Bode $2.00 !!!

They are usually out there for a hour

and then it is –

” Can we go to the play ground ” ?

Off to the play ground with MorMor & me.

Of course – we walk –

got to get those steps in –

And the entire walk is them singing and dancing to songs –

They have learned this week in Vacation Bible School !

Funny – as Bode can not read yet –

but he knows all the words to each song !

It was a very nice day –

78 degrees – a slight breeze –

a good day for the play ground & the Zip line in the park !

Finished up on the Tire swing –

but first there was a surprise –

On our walk over from the shade –

I saw this on Sherry’s shoulder !

It had landed and at first look –

I thought it had TWO BIG EYES –

But – you can see the little eyes –

Of course there were shrieks of OOOHHHH – AAAWWWW

EEEEEEKKKKKKK – stay away – get it off –

It was only a beetle

and it fell off and hit the ground –

Where it closed itself up –

Time to wrap it up and take them home !

It was a long day for Sherry

as she is helping out at Vacation Bible School –

The shade of the front porch –

welcome home –

a day well done –

BUT WAIT –

a message from their father

and a picture !

Once again they had set up shop –

Each with their OWN BUSINESS

as they liked to say –

And the little PITCH MAN –

Holding the sign –

“GET YOUR BRACELETS – ONLY ONE DOLLAR “

I think he should get a commission –

That will be a whole new discussion for another day –

And it now is raining out –

Could be a RAIN DAY –

They have library books to read –

Papa’s World – our ever changing life at Ocean Keyes -North Myrtle Beach, S.C.

Our dining room – living room – double entrance to the Lanai – and the water beyond!

We first rented this for three months – not knowing where we would be.

Then in November – after six weeks of house hunting –

We decided it was just as cost effective to build!

You see – in our price range – we found a lot of houses – condo’s

But each one we liked – there had to be things done!

When you are like me – this can happen! LOL

We could do these things – but it would take time and money.

Plus – another cost was to furnish it!

We sold almost all our furniture – and you can not just hire someone

Most will put you on a list!

Playing a game while eating dinner on the Lanai!

So – we extended our time here – and found a building development

one half hour away into N.C. – close to two beaches for our walks and company

And made our selections – everything we wanted and still in our price range.

What we will be doing off and on until our house is built! Ocean Keyes – North Myrtle Beach – S.C.

We will be here until the end of June!

Our house is suppose to be finished by the end of May!

That will give us time to get our stored stuff moved down here

and Sherry does what she loves to do – SHOP!

Papa’s World – MUCH ADO ABOUT NOTHING !

A brand new week –

a test on Monday for me at the hospital –

Has to do with my heart attack

and by-passes five and one half years ago !

Then – my yearly follow up with my doctor on my CPAP –

I have been using it for one and one half years !

I guess retirement is not on going to work every day –

but walking and scheduling all doctor visits ! LOL

Also – in the coming days –

we get our first SUMMER GUESTS !

I see card games –

exploring and golf coming up !

Our friends from back home –

Steve and Elaine –

will come for a long weekend.

We try to do something with all our friends every four to six months!

And once again – we will try to beat Steve and Sherry !

Of course it might also be GUYS vs. GALS –

Either way –

it will be fun.

Our other friends will be stopping in a week or so after this.

And then it will be over –

friends will be gone –

and we will embark upon our next adventure !

Living life –

doing it my way –

And we are able to do this –

Because we had a PLAN ” B” !

HEALTH & WEALTH started here.

In retirement –

we would of had to downsize – moved –

It would of been a LOT different !

THIRTEEN YEARS have passed –

NO REGRETS !

Today – Monday or Thursday or the weekend –

We have our Health –

and enough to survive.

What more could you ask for ?

MUCH ADO ABOUT NOTHING

BUT SOMETHING TO DO ABOUT EVERYTHING !
