We have all been friends for decades –

Six of us were neighbors on Pleasant Acres Drive in Portville, N.Y.

I grew up with the other couple in Eldred, Pa.

We gathered at the McBrides’ house in Magnolia Greens, Leland, N.C.

For a long weekend!

Mike and Carol – on the far left-

Flew in from NYS to Wilmington, N.C. airport.

Jim and Dottie – next to Carol and Mike-

Drove down from Edenton. N.C.

Buck – next to Cindy and me next to Sherry – hosted us all.

The highlight of the long weekend –

Was the ESCAPE ROOM –

The Greenlight Escape Room – “THE CABIN IN THE WOODS” –

In downtown Wilmington!

At one of our previous meet-ups!

We spent over an hour in the room, which, through solving the clues –

Actually turned into THREE ROOMS!

We had clues strung out all over the floors and laughed so hard!

It was such great fun –

Loud noises scared the crap out of me! LOL

This whole episode could very well have been this! LOL

After getting out of the Escape Room –

We went to dinner!

A day we can all remember when “SENIORS SOLVED THE PUZZLE OF CLUES”!!!!!

Our friends – for decades and decades – PRICELESS!

WINTER OF 2026!

A rare SNOW CYCLONE came up from Florida!

Of all places-

And deposited 15 inches of snow here in Cameron Woods Community!

This is almost a once-in-a-lifetime happening!

We do not own a snow shovel!

I was using a Leaf Blower for hours to make a path out of the garage –

Through the driveway and into the street.

Our good friend Jim showed up with shovels, and we cleared the driveway.

We waited for three days for the melt to take it all away.

I thought moving South to the borders of N.C. and S.C. –

I would leave this all behind!

JUST ANOTHER LOOK AROUND AND LIVING LIFE!

This time, we ventured to Dottie and Jim’s in Edenton.

Mike and Carol were not there.

Their new home is on the back side of the Outer Banks, near New Bern.

They live on a small canal on one side and a golf course on the other.

They have a small boat that they can get onto the bay with.

I have known Jim and Dottie since before they were married.

Jim, Sherry, and I all worked for American Olean Tile Co. – Dal-Tile.

Jim and I also played softball together in the mid 70s to the early 80s.
