Papa’s World – before we leave – one last time!

I said to my son in law –

“Sherry made tee times – 4:00 PM. Do you and Tammy want to play”?

And so it was – as we get ever so closer to leaving –

We went to Algonkian Golf Course –

among the deer once more!

This time not as many – but there were a lot of deer – just driving into the course

We discovered this course last year after living here for 21 years!

Only by accident as the kids went together and bought us gift cards

to golf at the County Golf Courses!

There are three of them – and we had played the Brambleton Coures

just a mile from our home.

The other one was a good hour away

but this one was 30 minutes away and near our church.

They said yes – and we went on Monday afternoon – labor day!

It was not crazy busy – and we actually got to tee off early.

What a fun time – Sherry said she loves this course.

This was our third time to play it.

Once last year with Buck and Cindy –

then a couple weeks ago with Jayson and Ginger

and this time with Tammy and Marcus.

Marcus about to hit his second ball

This course is a regular links course – but very flat –

trees everywhere – and narrow fairways – and “DEER”!

I was within 10 feet of two deer grazing

They are very tame and are in packs –

They are laying down or just in the high weeds.

They are by the greens or tee boxes.

They are not afraid and this whole area is a public park.

There is a walking path that runs right through the golf course

with hundreds of people walking – running or biking.

Social activity is abound here.

We both seem to play well here – as the fairways are very narrow

but run right next to the next fairway –

separated by dozens of mature trees!

Each tee box has five different tee’s.

Marcus and Tammy

If you hit the ball short and straight

you tend not to get into trouble

I have slowed my swing down

and found that I am mostly down the middle some

175 to 200 yards.

Sherry is consistent – 125 to 150 yards.

If I line her up correctly she hits where she is aiming!

Being in control is where it is at for us in golf!

Our closest friends for over 38 years.

Soon – I am hoping when we go South

We shall once again join up with our old friends to golf.

After all – we have been doing this for years and years.

Sherry and the deer

But ALGONKIAN GOLF COURSE will always have a soft spot in my heart.

Just like back home in NWPA Kane Golf Course has a place.

Papa’s World – a little golf and a lot of deer!

We went golfing with friends Ginger and Jayson

to the county course called Algonkian Public Golf Course!

It is a 18 hole course and we only played the front nine

but there are literally herds of deer!

I counted sixteen on one hole with two bucks in velvet!

They were so tame they would not move as you hit the ball

or drove up in the cart to find your ball.

Everywhere you looked there were deer.

And there is a county walking path that comes right through the course.

There were a ton of people walking – running and biking –

right through the deer!

They also were bedded down in the weeds and tall grass.

Some hard to see – and unless they got up –

you did not know they were there!

They never moved as Sherry hit her ball!

It is really a very pretty course running by the Potomac.

It is a county park – with the golf course right in the middle.

The course is flat with a lot of trees –

and very well kept up –

and in really good shape!

Sherry had tow pars!

And this was one of them!

Jayson teeing off

You can not see but the fairway was full of deer!

This is close to where his ball ended up

They never moved even when we drove up!

We both would like to go back as we played this last year

with our friends from N.C. Buck and Cindy!

PAPA’S WORLD – A little golf and lots of deer!

Papa’s World – the skies of a storm coming – beautiful!

I walked outside – we are staying with Tammy and Marcus.

They were on vacation – Sherry & I were alone.

Everywhere I looked to the sky –

was just awesome!

OUT FRONT FROM THE PORCH!

Sherry told me that she had a weather alert!

That is when I walked out onto the front porch.

I turned to the left and saw this after looking straight to the West.

Our new car parked alongside the road

as they were sealing the driveway the next day!

Then I walked to the edn of the porch and snapped this picture.

It was different in every direction!

I then went back inside and out the back door –

Again it was different!

There was yellow – orange – purple – blue – white – gray

and some deep pink!

The storm was suppose to start around 9 PM.

Flash flood alerts –

Stay off the roads –

High winds and take shelter!

The calm and beauty before the storm.

Later that night it hit –

Lightening – thunder and lots of rain.

I love a storm – and it will drum me to sleep!

And this one did!

Midnight – Sherry thought to wake me up and move the car.

The next day we were suppose to have the driveway sealed.

So – I had parked by the road and ditch.

She was worried the ditch would fill –

So – after trying to wake me up to no success

Off she went in the rain and moved the car back to the driveway!

She is a angel – me – for some reason I would not wake up!

We had FIVE INCHES OF RAIN IN THREE HOURS!

She had 18 alerts on road closings –

wash outs and rescues being taken – nine people!

I slept right through it!

The calm before the storm got me!

Always loved a good storm –

Next time I vow to be more alert!

Papas World – we were asked “WHY”? I answered simply “WHY NOT”?

Yesterday at 3:00 we gathered in the parking lot – across from Giant –

In Ashburn, Va.

Along with a couple thousand other souls – a non violent protest

A march of a mile and one half to the historical first “COLORED SCHOOL”.

We had been outside in our driveway when Kori came rushing over.

Kori is African American and a neighbor of about two plus years.

She had seen the sign in front of the house and exclaimed “You’re Moving”?

We had the conversation – I oft times will be outside and we will chat.

She is a single mom with a daughter.

After we chatted for about ten minutes – she invited us to the march –

to be held Sunday – the 14th. of June.

And we told her we would make the effort –

but we were in the middle of packing and moving – but would try.

I am not much of a crowd person – even baseball and football games

make me feel closed in.

At a Nationals game I had to leave my seat – just to get into a space

I could breathe and not have that feeling.

But – we both feel strongly on the protest – peaceful marches.

Not the violence which hurts all.

Not the burning and looting – but humanity –

being looked upon as equal.

Seeing the injustice and abuse that goes on in the profiling

both of Hispanic and Black communities.

Through our eyes – through our souls and though our beliefs in God.

I observed my surroundings – taking it all in as I walked the roadway.

A couple thousand people – white – brown – black – Asian –

Mothers – fathers – daughters – sons – grandparents.

Children – teens – and people standing and clapping – holding signs

as we passed by.

My eyes did not see rudeness – violent people – guns – weapons

jeering – hatred – anti protesters – thugs – or far right or far left agitators.

I saw human kind – peacefully walking – carrying signs

And families bonding with strangers.

My eyes saw the inside looking out of a peaceful protest march.

My eyes saw no politics – only sincere people – seeking justice.

To – rectify inequality – to be human and treated as such.

Across all barriers – all skin color and all religions.

Can you imagine what I would of missed had I not gone?

Sherry is my guiding force – my rock and my soul –

for from that first thought placed by Kori – she was going.

Today I have a new perspective –

a new look on just what it means to be isolated and prejudged.

I stood in front of that school – the First “COLORED SCHOOL”

and thought – Just how far we have come – but not near enough.

When asked “WHY”?

My simple answer is “WHY NOT”?

And my “WHY” is here in this picture.

Yes – my son – BLACK LIVES MATTER!

Papa’s World- our daughters store – 529kidsc0nsignloudoun

When you children go forth and start a adventure –

you always worry – you pray – and then you sit back and watch!

THE STORE
GOOD MORNING

That happened some 14 to 15 months ago –

A dream came to reality –

A high end kids consignment store was opened by Tammy –

Our youngest –

Store front
21020 Sycolin Road
125 Ashburn Va.
571-417-3060

She dreamed of this for over 10 years –

and today she does a healthy business –

walk ins but the majority is over the internet –

She posts multiple pictures of high end – upscale children’s clothes !

Only the best are taken in – most never worn !

Pay on line
shipped direct to customer

The concept is easy – take pictures – post on line –

customer pays on line – she then ships directly to customer !

Of course walk ins are also welcomed –

and the consignments decrease in value the longer they are there –

with a three month window –

Then they are returned or if the person does not want them back

they are donated to charity !

Part of the inventory

She is very selective on brands and condition –

a high percentage of clothing has never been worn !

Part of inventory in store

the site address is 529kidsconsignloudoun

You can view pictures – sizes and gender on the site

It also explains how to pay and her ship direct is very affordable !

Or you can call 571-417-3060 !

Store inventory
includes other items besides clothes
Shoes – bags – strollers – maternity
Pictures – cards – gifts

While there I noticed new pictures of the family

Bode and Tammy – first boy grand child after five girls !

The photography by Erica D.
The twins – Taylor and Cassidy
” I AM LITTLE – SOME DAY I WILL BE BIGGER “
CASSIDY

Some of the best photography !

Taylor

I think in my mind – she (ERICA D.) nailed this one !

TAYLOR !

Today – we watch – we help out when needed

But a dream has formed and come true

You still worry

But pride over comes that
