Papa’s World – Family bonding while on vacation!

We finally had a family vacation –

the first since before the Pandemic –

Where all twelve of us were able to meet –

and be together for one week!

Our children are in their 50’s or close to it!

The grandkids have graduated from college(one)-

with one more –

will be a senior –

and one will be a senior in H.S.

The youngest – two in eighth –

grade and one about to turn ten years old!

This vacation was what we did all those years ago with our older parents –

and siblings!

History is set to repeat itself one more time!

The youngest and only boy –

Bode who will be ten years old.

I have a feeling –

he will be very tall when he is done growing!

Being the only boy is hard for him –

as he wants to be active with the adults –

or soon-to-be adult-

older ones.

But he holds his own in riding the waves with the others –

bouncing up and down-

and diving under the waves.

Makes us very nervous about how far out they go-

At 75 years old –

neither of us is much good at helping a rescue!

We depend on the parents –

But to see the joy of BEACH WEEK –

for each of them is PRICELESS for us!

We celebrated BEACH WEEK with her sister-

and part of her family.

They stayed at her sister’s house –

just 5 or 6 miles away.

Papa’s World – our dream golfing – this time Oak Island with friends.

Buck – Cindy Sherry – our first time golfing on the island.

We had seen this course when we vacationed here about ten years ago –

and we both said “SOMEDAY”!

Well – that day came and we met our friends Buck and Cindy there –

however – we could look out to the ocean and see a storm – thunder and lightning and

we had some sprinkles!

So we decided to go into the bar & grill – have a drink and wait it out!

Which after some 35 minutes – it looked like it had passed and we began.

I had already hit from the tees father back – and this is number one – this course I like because it is open!
MY GENERATION!

My phone takes a picture and if you hold your finger on it – it actually goes through the swing – I wish you could hear the sound on this tee off by Sherry – SMACK – she connected straight down the fairway.

This one is also her second shot off the fairway – “SEE THE SOUND” as I have been told!

YEP – ME! LOL

It was a good day golfing – the rain did come back on the last two holes but was just a sprinkle –

It was a good first time golfing here and we both want to go back.

OUR DREAM GOLFING – THIS TIME OAK ISLAND, N.C. WITH FRIENDS!

PAPA – SHERRY – CINDY – BUCK

Papa’s World – exploring Bald Head Island, N.C.

Leaving the Ferry Terminal at Southport, N.C.

Our neighbors – Diane and Steve – went with us for the day to explore Bald Head Island –

the only way to the island is by boat – with a very large terminal building.

No automobiles are allowed on the island.

Once there – you can take a tram to your rental or if an owner to your home.

The transportation is by walking – biking or golf carts!

Rental areas are by the departure terminal on Bald Head Island.

On our way to Bald Head Island, N.C.
Our entered the docking area for the ferry at Bald Head Island
Diane standing next to our transportation for the next five hours.

Rentals are easy – use your phone – pay by credit card – five minutes and we were on our way!

OLD BALDY LIGHTHOUSE
While we did not go inside – it was built in 1817!

The island is all set up for golf carts – but there are maintenance trucks here –

I think different companies store them in a parking lot here.

Plumbing – electrical and building companies.

Utilities and machines for road repairs.

I think this is the small house for the lighthouse keeper!
