Being positive – helping – staying out of the political fray!

Being seniors,

Life now is even shorter.

Why waste time arguing with someone who will not change their minds?

My beliefs are mine,

And I will vote for those beliefs.

And then go on with our life together.

Time is not on our side!

I look around each day –

The sunrise or the sunset.

The storm clouds-

And then listening to the thunder and patter of rain.

Makes me sleepy!

Gratitude, we are where we are.

Blessed that we are still together and caring for one another.

The direction of our day –
Small trips –

Store – post office, or appointments.

The little things in life make me happy!

It has changed over the years –

Now, instead of black mulch,

Stones with a border.

But this glider and porch are my happy place.

A place to sit in the shade and watch the neighbors go by!

A wave of a hand –

And then wait for the next one.

Much as I did in my youth, sitting on our front porch-

On Main Street in Eldred, Pa.

That is where I got the happy memories that I have today, sitting here!

Sunset Beach and in the distance –

The high rise of Ocean Isle Beach!

These two beaches are our dreams!

We always wanted to be near the ocean,

And this is where we ended up!

But – in my life –

I have no regrets.

It has been a good life –

Family, work, and now retirement.

We grew up together in little Eldred, Pa.

Elementary – then 7 through 12th. grade –

And graduation.

We both went our separate ways –

But always maintained contact.

Now, we are well into our senior years.
Bobby and I are playing senior golf.

Once again,

The stories of youth and memories are regaled.

LIFE IS GOOD!

A big thank you to all who read my blogs!

Papa’s World – Being a senior – love of life!

In our senior years –

I believe family-

Becomes more and more important.

Now the grandkids are either out of college or in college.

Those are the older ones!

The younger ones are in H.S., and one is in middle school-

Or soon to be!

We also moved to a warmer climate.

At our age,

We no longer want to deal with ice, snow, and extreme cold!

So we plan trips back to see them –

And also for them to visit.

They are all in the busy portion of their own lives.

We give – we volunteer-

And help when we can.

Senior years –

Life goes by quickly.

Before you know –

You are on the edge of caregiver –

To be a receiver of care.

Climbing that step ladder –

Becomes dangerous –

Bending over to weed becomes a chore!

Driving becomes-

Becoming more aware of where you are and who is around.

Happiness is when you can give-

And not expect a return!

Celebrations are when you stay awake at an outing –

Beyond eight PM!

But you also appreciate the little things of life –

LOVE OF LIFE follows you into the senior years!

We seem to look –

And see what we can do to help!

One day it will be reversed.

But until that happens-

LOVE OF LIFE will be our focus.

Living life to the plus one day at a time!

Papa’s World – this site – kindness – good thoughts – trying to make a difference.

Make a difference in people’s lives – share gratitude – be an example.

My daily life on social media is to bring smiles – happy thoughts – good deeds – sharing thoughts – being a good person.

The news is filled with sorrow – hate – negative words – death and destruction.

Political discourse – friend against a friend – family against family.

Split down the middle and agitated with a false narrative.

Actions from adults are mirrored by a child – words from adults are heard by children and repeated.

Our actions as adults form the life of a child – repeating endless history through time.

The world needs us as adults to be the eyes of a child.

We form our children – we protect them yet they see our actions and imitate them for the worse not the better.

I try with my blogs and with my social media each and every day to spread love- kindness – happy thoughts –

family – friends – church – smiles – and positivity toward the human race in general.

In the sunset of my life – seeing the good – and giving what we can.

A dose of this – a spoon of that – a sip of this – GRATITUDE!

In our life together – for going on almost 40 years –

we do everything together – we are best friends –

if no one is around – we still go on adventures together!

On our daily walk – we sometimes see the three swans!

Our days are almost never planned – unless there are errands to run –

friends to meet to golf –

but other than that – we explore!

We are taking in everything we can until our new house is built!

We also are exploring the area where we will live –

And it is nothing to drive a hour or so to see something we have never seen!

The beach at North Myrtle Beach – S.C.

We walk almost three miles a day –

we did back in NVA until it got cold!

But – here – the sun warms you up even though it is in the high 40’s!

Walking the beach is part of that three mile walk every day!

6/10 th of a mile and we are standing looking at the above!

A day in our life – we live each day as it comes!

Always active – even making a garbage trip to the dumpster a walk!

We also can walk the half mile to Walmart if we choose.

Living life to the plus one day at a time.
