Papas World – looking around – almost done!

I am looking around the house – we have the car loaded up for one more run

to the storage unit and then to our daughters house.

We stopped at Home Depot and bought two more small boxes –

A medium size one another wardrobe one.

This chair will stay here – it matches the bedroom set

which they purchased.

My clothes are in a suitcase –

A carry bag and some piled on the floor.

The utilities have been called – shut off date – the paper will be canceled.

As I look around – almost all that is still here will remain.

The final finish line is in sight – all the keys collected –

put into plastic bags and marked.

I am writing down things I think they should know.

We will be staying with our daughters until we decide when to leave

for the winter.

We will visit friends and family as we have been invited.

I look around – it has been a good run – our home – our base – our dream.

We are in this together – and we shall go on – new adventures await.

Papas World – children – now grown up – memories

In 1982 – June 25th. we were married – each for the second time.

We had dated for a year and half.

We were engaged the previous December at Christmas.

Our journey was to begin – and now – soon to be 38 years!

As we grow older – the kids are still kids to me.

That is what I call all four.

My two sons
Troy to the left
Shawn to the right

Troy can build a house from the ground up –

Shawn is a ranked pool player in the USA & Canada

Shawn has his own energy company – across Pa.

Doing audits and energized for the elderly & low income.

All through the state and power companies.

Troy runs the crews.

Both are kind – caring and live back in North West Pa.

Very proud of these two.

Shawn is married to Trisha – he has two sons

Ryan and Dylan

Troy has no children of his own

but is loved by the children of his ex.

Debby is a Qualified National Marketing Director

for the Juice Plus Company.

Living the dream and living the life of health & nutrition

Debby is married to Michael

and they have three daughters

Maddy – Ella and Sarah

Tammy is also into health and nutrition

as a Sales Coordinator for the Juice Plus Company

along with her own Upscale Consignment store for children

She is married to Marcus and they have three children

The twins Cassidy and Taylor

and the only boy – Bode.

We are happy – after all these years

soon it will be year number 38!

To my wife Sherry – Happy Anniversary

To our children – thank you for seeing us through the tough times

combining all of us together

and being there when we need you.

Papas World – Sheltering Day#56 – birthday!

May 7th. 2020 – 71 years old – Pandemic – Social Distancing

Guess I am always going to remember this one!

My wife Sherry – made it a very special day – but she messed up –

and two days before – let the cat out of the bag.

We were going to practice SOCIAL DISTANCING –

BUT – we were going to use our patio which is very large

over 500 square feet and enclosed by a fence and the house

and each family of grand kids will come at specific times

so no one is here at the same time!

gosh – how I miss them all

The first family of Mike – Debby – Maddy – Ella and Sarah

came at 12:30 pm. They parked outback – walked around the back yard

and into the patio –

where we had seating for everyone but at least six feet apart.

They gave me cards they had made – the three girls –

they always make me special crafted cards.

I cherish them and save each one.

Have since they were little!

Now the whole family except Ella – eats very little meat

so we ordered a pizza delivery –

we paid on the site and they delivered

they do not even see you or knock

they text that the pizza is by the front door and then drive off!

We had also fruit – gluten free chips – salsa – wheat less pretzels

And my favorite cake that we made a special trip to WEGMENS

White coconut cream cake! ( which has been years since I had)

We celebrated by each staying in our own seats – laughing –

and then the text – the second group were on their way.

Time to leave – no hugs – but lots of smiles – kind words.

They left – and then it was time to see the little ones and their parents

same routine – the little ones have followed their older cousins

each in turn made special cards and gave to me

(Tammy – Marcus – Taylor – Cassidy & Bode !

How I miss them all.

They dressed up – the little ones – just for this occasion.)

I guess at my age I am sentimental – but to me –

these are the best presents – the cards

for years and years I have saved them!

It will be fun one day to bring them all out and show them

when they are all grown up!

We spent two hours just the same as we did with the older ones.

Sheltering in place on my birthday – strange no hugs –

no handshakes – but – the smiles and laughs.

Earlier I had gotten a call –

From my two sons back in NWPA –

“HAPPY BIRTHDAY DAD” !

I AM BLESSED – my wife made this all happen –

And the boys called me!

What more could I ask for –

A PUZZLE!

Sherry got me another puzzle – 500 pieces!

And a new warm pull over shirt –

which in this freaky Spring of rain and cold

I SHALL WEAR!

Sheltering in place Day# 56 – best birthday ever –

now to get busy and put PUZZLE # 8 together

glad when this is all over!

Papa’ s World – Healthy living – one day at a time

How many ways do you say ” I LOVE YOU ELLA ” !

The twins gravitate toward their cousin Sarah – Bode – his idol is Ella.

It has been this way ever since he could walk and talk. ” Is Ella going to be there ” ? he will ask. Ella is our second oldest grand daughter – who will turn 16 this July. Bode is our youngest gran child

and the only boy out of SIX ! He turns FIVE in November . As you can see here – he absolutely adores her. ” Ella – you want to play “? he asks.

Both have been brought up eating Healthy – as have all the grand kids. That is priority number one for their parents – even though they both are cousins – it runs in the family.

This was taken before Ella’s soccer game and during her older sister’s game. Both play – Maddy is the starter on Midfield – varsity and Ella starts as midfielder on the J.V. team.

The varsity is 8 wins 2 loses & 1 tie.

The J.V. are 7 wins 1 loss & 3 ties.

Very proud of these two and Maddy signed a Letter Of Intent to play soccer at The University of Lynchburg in Va. We will make trips to watch her play.

Bode loves his cousin and she in turn choose to sit with him prior to her game – she has the biggest heart and to see them was priceless.

We all practice living to the plus – being together – and supporting one another. This is but one more day in PAPA’S WORLD .

And Bode supports his Ella !

Papas World – social distancing – grand kids

Yesterday – Tammy had to bring the twins to the school

to pick up their Chrome Books at school

so they could continue their classes from home.

This is the closest we have been to them in 18 DAYS!

Throughout all of this MorMor – Sherry – each night

gets a phone call from Cassidy –

her soft little voice asking “WHAT ARE YOU DOING MORMOR”?

Or – ” I MISS YOU MORMOR AND PAPA”!

This breaks my heart –

and then when Bode chirps in – is so hard to tell which one is speaking.

The kids – little ones – before this happened –

would spend a lot of time with us here

in our home.

Taylor once told us

“You can’t sell this house MorMor – I have too many memories here”!

And this coming from a nine year old.

Upstairs off that deck is a laundry room.

And on the backside of that door –

is a growth chart we have kept since they could stand up

all three of them.

Sherry told me if we ever decide to move

THAT DOOR IS COMING WITH US! LOL

They wanted to take home the pool so I got it down
and we gave them the tarp to put under it

We would set the pool up in the patio when it got hot enough

It is not a big one – perhaps a foot and half deep

but enough to let them play and cool off

in the shade of the patio.

Social Distancing is hard on them and us.

They seemed not to really know just what to do

Usually they are right next to us – and especially Bode.

Papas World – when little ones come to sleep over!

It had been perhaps two months or longer!

They asked to sleep over as soon as we returned home from Florida!

But first – a trip to Trader Joe’s!
Taylor – who is going to be very tall!
Cassidy – and Bode whom look like they should be twins!

The arrangements made – the bed of foam and blankets on the floor

in our bedroom – all three will not sleep elsewhere!

The older three – only Maddy – the oldest will sleep

in another bedroom!

The arrival bags
shoes – boots
and stuffed animals

They would spend the night – and next morning –

get them ready for early church and Sunday school!

Which meant on Saturday

A trip to Barnes and Noble

A stop at Trade Joe’s ( two small shopping carts)

And then back to the house for meals!

They were really good – no fighting!

Taylor and her purse
I think of all the grand daughters
she will end up the tallest.
Sherry is 5′ 9″
and she just may surpass that
she now is a Harry Potter big time fan
and riding horses!

Cassidy – who does tons and tons of crafts
all from instructions
on the IPAD!
And now is taking Tennis Lessons!
and is a good roller bladder
very caring and protective of Bode!

Bode – all boy
has just learned to ride his bike
all about trucks
big machinery
and building things
now has a putting puzzles together thing!

The three of them eat all the time!

No matter what time it is

and right after they have eaten!

Yet – they are not fat

but lean –

and so full of energy!

Papa’s World – schools out – little guy comes – takes pictures

Last Friday was his last day of pre – school !

His mother drops him off around 9:30 AM. on her way to work.

The ” Little guy ” is Bode – our grand son – the only boy out of six grand kids.

” Papa – can I have your phone? ” he will ask.

Social media in today’s World for children can be a problem.

So – we put rules in place – there is a timer – when that goes off –

They must find something to do !

Usually – he will ask – ” Papa – will you play with me ” ?

And – of course I do – we have this extended FARM SET –

and – most of the grand kids at one time or other – have played with it !

When he does get to have the I PAD – he heads for the couch –

and for the next hour –

the only sound you hear is what comes from the I PAD!

There are times –

” PAPA – CAN I HAVE YOUR PHONE ” ?

And – of course – the timer is in effect –

however – I got a surprise –

When I went to look for pictures for this blog –

I discovered – unknown to me –

he was not listening to ” FAMILY FUN PACK”

But was taking pictures !!!

I was watching the ball game

and here he took “HIS VIEW” picture of me !!!!

You can see his little foot !

I saved a few – but I found it quite funny to find these.

He had walked around the room and took pictures !

One he took –

was of Cassidy in her ” TENT” with her I Pad !

Now these two Cassidy and Bode –

should of been the twins !

Taylor is so laid back and quiet –

Bode and Cassidy – just the opposite !

Cassidy had her I Pad set up to a video on Justin Beiber –

And they both went through the moves

and sang along to it !

When they sing together –

it is hard to tell who is who –

they sound the same

Cassidy is the protector –

she will grab his hand in the waves –

She would be the Elephant in this picture –

she always looks out for him –

always watching over him !

Two peas in a pod I call them – so a like –

and hard to tell which is which when they call from another room.

She is like a second mother to him –

and I noticed –

she has a lot of patience with him –

smiling as he grabs a hold of her and tugging her.

Just enjoying my grand kids –

next week – school will be out –

But for now – I sit on the porch waiting –

the little guy is coming –

” PAPA – CAN I HAVE YOUR PHONE ” ?

In a while – yes you can –

but you can’t take pictures !

Better yet – you can have the I Pad –

At least no pictures can be taken –

at least I think that !

“HE KNOWS MORE ABOUT IT THAN I DO ” !!!!

Papa’s World -MOR MOR goes to the Zoo – I couldn’t go.

There was a family outing on this past Monday –

A ride on the Metro –

a trip into D.C. –

And a long planned talked about visit – TO THE ZOO !

You know that feeling when a event is about to happen –

But you can not be there to share the fun !

Well – I had a three to four hour test Monday morning –

And all the grand kids and their mothers were coming –

And MOR MOR

( Sherry – mothers mother in Swedish )

Was going to lead them into Washington and to the ZOO !

Sherry – Debby and Tammy & six grand kids on the Metro

They had talked about this all year –

as soon as all the kids were out of school !

We or they had to do it on a Monday –

So – with my test already scheduled –

I missed out on a fun trip.

Debby and the three oldest girls made the trip from Lake Holiday –

early on Monday morning ( they stayed the night )

Mike – their dad – was going North to help his parents open their camp –

In the Adirondacks – Raquet Lake.

Tammy – her one day the store is not open is Monday –

brought the three little ones –

who are just as excited to be riding the Metro !

Marcus had to work.

The Six grand kids – five girls and one boy

Their plan – spend the day –

come home – have TACO MONDAY –

and talk – play into the night –

I also had the job of watching FINNY –

a love bird that belongs to Sarah –

Debby’s youngest !

We argued back and forth with TWEETS !!!! LOL

They kept me updated –

I got back home around 10:15 am.

FINNY was watching TV.

from his cage !

As soon as I walked in – he began

( I think it is a he )

He would chirp at me and bob around in his cage !

I missed out on the Zoo –

but got to spend time with everyone

until I went to bed at almost 10 : 00 PM.

We have been to the Zoo numerous times since we moved here.

And all those times have been with the grand kids.

I hope you enjoyed my little day blog on family fun –

I missed out but recovered for a enjoyable late afternoon and evening .

Then the next day we all took a walk around our pond – lake .

We are constantly bombarded by WHAT IS WRONG on the media today.

Negative vibes – where are the good things to be written about?

So – I decided a long time ago – I would share smiles –

Good thoughts – Family – Friends and day to day happenings.

Also a way to document my life –

To put it all down in journal type writings.

I try to stay away from politics – as I have friends from all sides.

Sometimes that is very hard to accomplish

But – I try –

You see – my life is in the later stages

I want the kids to read this after I am gone

I want them to know who I am

what I did and how I feel.

I hope I conveyed these thoughts through my blogs

I am happy with my life

And today I hope I brought us a little bit closer
