I have seen ” THINGS ”

heard “THINGS”

And if it is going to happen –

It will happen to ME !!!!

GOOD MORNING

All my life – weird things happen to me !

Like – I will be thinking of someone –

The phone rings – and it is them !

My wife will say something about someone –

And I was just thinking the same thing !

WEIRD !

My two favorite movies of all time –

” ET ”

And

“CLOSE ENCOUNTERS OF THE THIRD KIND “

My look alike view

Early one morning – in the early 70’s –

I was arriving at work –

I was just getting out of my car –

I reached back inside to grab my lunch –

I looked up and across the sky came a cluster of lights !

It looked like 7 or 8 Stars or Satellites – moving in formation –

Not one big object –

And as they came across

They would move sideways !

Within seconds they were gone across the sky

and I could no longer see them !

Are there UFO’S ?

I BELIEVE

I have had thoughts –

And all of a sudden –

That thought happened –

Nothing bad –

But strange that I was thinking about it !

I DO NOT DO SCARY THINGS !

When we were first married –

we lived far out in the country –

Our driveway was unpaved and 1 /10 th. of a mile long –

We could really only see one other house –

This was SWNY – and Bear and Deer country!

The movie Halloween had come out the previous year –

And it was on TV !

I started to watch it –

NO WAY – it was dark outside and spooky –

I DO NOT DO SCARY MOVIES – I JUMP and SWING MY ARMS!

But I do watch paranormal shows –

I watch Finding Bigfoot –

One segment was shot in Sherry’s hometown

At the KINZUA bridge –

There are many stories of sightings in that area ! LOL

I like trick or treating –

But I do not go into dark places –

Haunted houses –

my wife will not encourage me to go –

She knows I am JUMPY when it comes to those kind of things !

A new show on NETFLEX –

Called ” STRANGER THINGS ” !

I really like that show –

I think it is the kids that make it so I am not jumpy !

A SENSE OF HUMOR !

Yes – strange things happen to me –

I woke up this morning & a song was going through my head –

“SMILE A LITTLE SMILE FOR ME – “

And I looked at what my next scheduled blog was –

Planned a week ago –

SMILE – BE HAPPY – was the title –

YEP – things just happen to me !

Papa’s World – CONWAY – HALLOWEEN!

Conway, S.C.-

has the distinction of being the HALLOWEEN CAPITAL OF THE USA!

They go all out decorating the entire city!

And it draws the tourist in for shopping –

sightseeing and bar and grills!

Along the path to the beginning –

of the River Walk –

But it started to rain –

so we took shelter in a restaurant and had a drink!

If you go – do so early before the shops close at 5pm.

But stay after dark-

as all the lights come on in the trees –

with pumpkins hanging from them!

Thousands and thousands of lights-

and pumpkins adorn the huge oak trees!

Everywhere you look are decorations –

storefronts – alleys and side streets.

The riverwalk has many more-

but we decided not to walk in the rain.

Papa and my youngest son Shawn sitting –

just taking in all the large automated giant figures!

This one was twice as tall as we were!

Here you see Sherry-

this one was not as tall as the others!

The town officially opens its Halloween season on October first –

But we were there about a week before that-

and while they still were decorating –

All the storefronts seemed to be done!

It must take weeks to hang all the pumpkins –

and sting the lights!

I want to thank my daughter-in-law Trisha and my son Shawn –

for agreeing to come with us!

Spending time with them is priceless!

Halloween is big on the main street in Conway – but also in the nearby park – this car is decorated – SPOOKY!

A great deal of decorating went into the entire main street – here is CITY HALL!

Papa and Bob walk along the main street in Conway – all the tees were decorated like this!

Witches’ hats hang over the fountain along the main street!

Everywhere you look along the main street are decorations – even In the storefront displays!

We spent an entire day walking around and found a bar and grill to have lunch!

Papa – Sherry – Pam and Bob – relaxing with a drink and some snacks!

These are but a few of the many – many displays – some actually moved when you came upon them.

The backyard became ELM STREET for the party!

The ELM STREET with GHOSTS – BATS – CRIME SCENE HATCHET THROWING was all Sarah’s ideas.

This was her birthday wish as she turned SWEET!

We helped with her directions – she also had a TAROT CARD reading earlier in the week.

She loves ghosts and supernatural hauntings!

Peter is a giant of a man –

bearded and 6’6

Wife – daughter and son

Always friendly

Lilly – his daughter –

takes care of our flowers

and Tower Gardens

while we are away !

As we walk in the early morning

it is easy to fantasize walking in the dark

only the street lights on from corner to corner

A fog swirling among the trees

and a sign pointing to RIP ROAD –

of pumpkin spice coffee
pumpkin deserts
and lots of
CANDY

Sherry bought two large bags of Candy

We had over 200 kids last year

and had to shut down early

as we ran out of Candy !

I have seen Turkey’s – Foxes – Deer ( last week two large Bucks)

And – two blocks away

A Black bear was captured on a home security system

walking across the yard and driveway !!!!!
