Papa’s World – Family Krohn on the beach!

Our family came to spend their spring break with us before Easter.

Cassidy and Bode – the one boy on the left.

We spent a lot of time between beaches – and it was a warm week for water and sand.

Shelling – walking – boogie boards – blowing sand – no rain – warm sun and family time.

Taylor – she is growing up so fast – she will be the tall one in the family.

Taylor excels in horseback riding and grooming – riding lessons once a week.

She is very tall for her age and will be taller than her MORMOR Sherry –

who is almost 5’10”.

Ella has already matched Sherry and Sarah will soon.

Bode and Cassidy are on their Boogie boards.

These two are so much alike that they should have been the twins.

Bode will end up also being very tall.

Cassidy is of normal height for her age and is a beauty.

Her warmth and caring – her love of her MORMOR whom she calls all the time.

Her use of YOUTUBE for art projects and drawings.

She is playing soccer as is Bode.
She is quick – fast and agile.

Papa’s World – Family memories of back home!

Madison Margo Myers – our oldest granddaughter – today she is 21 years old.

Maddy as we call her – has been with us all week for her Spring break –

this makes me smile as she chooses to spend it with us.

She has been named one of four captains for the fall soccer season

at the University of Lynchburg in Va.

She will be a senior and made the all-conference third team as a Sophomore

and second-team all-conference as a Junior.

This summer she will travel to Costa Rico with her team to play three scrimmages

one of which is against the National Olimpic – World cup team!

She was about ten years old in this picture –

today she carries a 3.80 GPA in Engineering Science!

Tammy – Marcus – Cassidy and Taylor before Bode.

We stayed with them for three months after we sold our home and moved to N.C. – S.C.

They are twins – not identical – and born early – three-plus pounds each!

Today they are 11 years old – and Taylor has shot up – almost as tall as her mother.

Cassidy plays soccer as does Bode – Taylor rides horses!

Cassidy makes things – really great things by watching UTUBE!

Taylor reads tons of books and her favorite is Harry Potter – she is at the 11th. grade reading level.

They will all be coming down next month ( April) for Spring break

and trying to find a way for them to spend a week here in the summer.

It will all work out as they did last summer and they had such a good time!

We do miss these times but more than makeup for it when they come to visit.

Family is and has always been important to us.

As they all come to visit – smiles and hugs make the distance shorter.

Papa’s World – Memory of GIGI and family vacations.

Many times when her father was alive – we would go on vacation with them –

then when he passed away – we continued taking GIGI with us where ever we went.

The grandchildren all loved their GIGI – and today – the grandkids call Sherry – MORMOR – Swede for MOTHERS – MOTHER

You see GIGI ( Barb) was Swede through and through – her mother was born in Sweden.

In Mount Jewett where they lived – was an early Swedish settlement from immigrants.

The men in 1886 built a replicant of an eight-sided Swedish church – and the one in Sweden still stands as does the one called Mount Nebo in Mount Jewett – in NWPA!

Every year in that little town in NWPA – a Swedish festival is held.

Both Barb and Bill at one time were the king and queen of that festival.

Memories of GIGI for the grandkids was she was always laughing – smiling – red cheeks –

Holding her hand as they walked or climbing up and sitting beside her.

Learning how to sing a song in Swedish and singing it to her.

Those are memories not lost – but retained in our minds.

This is who we are – a TIGHT FAMILY!

We now reside in N.C. close to the border of S.C – about 30 minutes to North Myrtle Beach!

We moved from NVA where we all lived in the area.

Sherry with five granddaughters and one grandson.

Our family is very close and they stay in contact.

The two older granddaughters are in college and both start on their college soccer teams.

One is a Freshman in H.S. and aspires to dance and the arts.

The twins are close – one rides horses(bareback) and wants to go to Equestrian school –

The younger can make anything off of Youtube and is very artistic and also into gymnastics.

The only grandson – no socks – no shoes – no shirt – no problem – all boy –

soccer – baseball – sports – golf – all-around athlete.

All life – all humans – love is happiness in Papa’s World.

We have been so blessed in having so many friends along with our close-knit family.

This summer will be our 40th wedding anniversary – time has gone by so fast!

They have been a part of our lives for almost the entire 40 years.

Vacations – travel – sports – golfing – singing – laughing – spending quality moments together.

It has been a journey that I wish would go on for another 40 years.

Yes – we have been blessed to have friends such as these.

We have been there for the entire time of them grwoing up – two going to college.

Seeing the first boy being born –

Vacations and holidays – over night sleep overs – horse back riding – hiking – campfires –

lakes – kayaks – boats – spending quality times together –

Mother and daughters working together to bring healthy living to family and friends.

Forty years – memories – pictures – great times – living life to the plus.

Papa’s World – Part two – When you push pause – MEMORIES come alive!

This is part two – when we pause the TV – all of a sudden the screen saver becomes MEMORIES –

Pictures start rolling through of the past and we find ourselves just watching them!

Today they are grown up – two in college – one in H.S. “MEMORIES”!

Today the Myers family – “MEMORIES” to be made.

Today – college for two – H.S. for the other – camping – hiking – sunrises – sunsets and campfires.

Seven years ago – Christmas past – all six grandkids

Today Christmas present with all six grandchildren.

Time has passed – memories and now new memories.

So many memories – so many great times – so many thoughts – so much love – so much family!

And now this past Christmas – the twins and Bode.

Past memories – present memories in the making – PUSH PAUSE – and sit back and watch!

Papa’s World – Family growing up – THE KROHN’S.

The twins – came early – the doctor said it was a time a little past 32 weeks!

Taylor was the bigger – she was taking all the nutrients –

both were three pounds – Taylor 13 ozs. more!

So tiny – but healthy – and that was the birthday of their mother that they were born on!

Not planned – but by the doctor’s orders.

Bode came along four years later – today they are 11 and 7 years old!

Bode was the first boy out of six grandchildren – the girls MADDY ELLA SARAH TAYLOR CASSIDY.

Of course, the older ones all adore him and he adores them – esp. ELLA – whom he follows everywhere.

Papa’s World – family growing up MYERS!

MADDY ( now 21) SARAH ( now 15) ELLA (now 18)

The first of the grandbabies – all girls – at Christmas time they would be the first to get up-

And would sit at the top of the stairs waiting – for their parents to awake.

Giggling – so excited as their stockings always hung from the rails at the bottom of the stairs.

Today – MADDY is a Junior at the University of Lynchburg – in Va.

Excellent in a school with an above 3.80 GPA!

Her mayor – Environmental Engineering

and a minor in Photography.

She plays soccer and was third-team all-conference as a Sophomore

And as a Junior second-team all-conference.

They were invited to Division III NCAA playoffs where they lost a heartbreaker 3-2 in the final minute of play.

Today – Ella is a Freshman at Randolph College in Lynchburg Va.

Where she also started and played college soccer.

She started at midfield and played almost every minute of every game.

a bright future awaits her.

Sarah is now a freshman in High School – having been selected to represent her class for prom queen.

All three love their GRANDMA and tease her as she teases them!

WHEN THEY WERE LITTLE – MEMORIES OF THE FAMILY MYERS!

We spent a lot of time with them while they were growing up.

Sleepovers – hiking – soccer games – birthdays – holidays – vacations.

ELLA – mother DEBBY – father MIKE – SARAH – MADDY – all love the outdoors – Androndacks N.Y.

Papa’s World – MEMORIES OAK ISLAND VACATION

MEMORIES of our week on Oak Island, N.C.

We stayed close to the beach for one week.

The kids were small ( the twins) and the tidal pools were great!

It was a direct walk to the beach entrance.

Life is full of memories – past experiences – vacations – get-togethers – sharing fun times!

We told them all that we would only be 6 or 7 hours away and we have done that!

And that we would come back often and we have done that also!

They have visited numerous times and Spring and Summer are ahead to make more MEMORIES!

Maddy – today a Junior at the University of Lynchburg.

Sarah – A freshman in H.S.

Ella – today a Freshman at Randolph College

Both are older girls who play college soccer.

MEMORIES of past and present!

Many a year we spent together as families – in the sun – water and sand!

MEMORIES of times in the past.

They are close with each other and with their mother Sherry –

All three ran the ten-mile Cherry Blossom race – crossing the finish line holding hands.

MOTHER AND DAUGHTERS BONDING – MEMORIES!

When a person comes into your life and you share 40 years together forming MEMORIES!

Today – we are by ourselves in N.C. while the families remain in Va.

Although distance separates us – memories – love and ZOOM – keep us all together!

Our little fashion girl – SARAH who now is a Freshman in H.S.

She is the fashion queen amongst all the grandkids – and is almost as tall as Sherry!

The years have passed and she is growing up!

So proud of this young lady who pursued a college soccer career.

They went to Division III NCAA 64 team playoffs where they lost in the last 2 minutes 3 to 2!
