Papa’s World – Past times remembered!

Tammy holding Bode with Marcus – on this day – Sherry had her first grandson –

He has since been all boy – playing golf – soccer – ice skating and flag football.

Soon he will turn ten years old – and he sent us a text message –

“He was trying out for Travel Soccer” !

He later sent another message –

“Today at my travel tryouts – I scored Three goals and blocked Five goals – I think I’ll make it in travel!”

Almost soon to be ten years old – he is following in the footsteps of his cousins –

They also played travel – Maddy and Ella and then on to college where they also played!

PAST TIMES REMEMBERED!

On one of our many times to visit our NYS friends at Lake Chautauqua – Sherry rode the bow on a trip around the lake with Buck and Cindy.

Cindy and I had just gone riding a tube –

Many fond memories back in WNY!

PAST TIMES REMEMBERED!

Sherry tees off on a par three – one of our wishes was to move here to afford to play golf!

We purchased a first tee card that gives us discounts on over 50 courses-

Most are a short drive from our home in Cameron Woods Community!

Retirement in the South – beaches – sun – surf and golf!

PAST TIMES REMEMBERED!

Easter sunrise service on Ocean Isle Beach – since we moved South –

numerous times we have attended these services at sunrise!

PAST TIMES REMEMBERED!

When family visits for Spring Break – gather on the canal at a friend’s house on OIB to Kayak!

Many memories of hiking – exploring and sand and surf!

PAST TIMES REMEMBERED!

Boating the ICW with friends and family.

PAST TIMES REMEMBERED!

Papa’s World – Attending Easter Sunrise Service!

While this picture is from our home in the driveway looking East – we journey to Sunset Beach –

in the dark – to be present at the SUNRISE EASTER SERVICE at SUNSET BEACH!

Here Sherry takes a selfie of her sister and her family – standing on the beach after the service.

There were a few hundred souls in attendance –

standing – sitting in chairs –

a speaker system had been set up and a man with a guitar played and led the group in song.

The symbol of the Sun rising – as the service ended –

Hope – Peace – Love and belief in the son of God.

This is our fourth Easter Service since we moved here in 2020.

The second service we attended on the beach.

The other two in churches.

Many people scattered after the service – many headed toward the surf to capture the reflection of the water of the Sunrise.

Family – captured as the Sun rises –

This was the first of three services to be held here-

each a different denomination.

HE IS RISEN – HE IS RISEN INDEED!

SHERRY – ATTENDING EASTER SUNRISE SERVICE – “HE IS RISEN”!

Papa’s World – Easter sunrise service on the beach – cold – but worth it!

It was rather cold – 46 degrees – but thank goodness no wind!

We went in the dark – at 6:15 AM. and was surprised at all the cars and activity.

This was but one of several services up and down the beach.

ELCA – which we are a member of – along with the Episcopal church –

Came together to have this service.

I would guess by the start – some 4 to 5 hundred souls gathered on the beach-

many standing – others brought their own chairs

At last – in more than a year – we attended a live service.

Glory to God in the highest – and peace to his people on earth.

All our married lives – we have attended church – me – I converted from Catholic to Lutheran

which was how Sherry was raised.

I serve a risen Savior , He’s in the world today – I know that He is living , whatever others say ; I see his hand of mercy , I hear his voice of cheer, And just the time I need Him He’s always near.
They came and came – down the ramp or steps – or from up the beach and down the beach – walking- walking – walking – silently – some hand in hand – others close by – Easter Sunrise Service.
Give thanks to the LORD , for he is good; “His mercy endures for ever.”

They were mostly silent – a few murmurs here and there – ushers directing people – passing out communion cups and wafers – a few announcements – still cold – but at least there was no wind. The sound of the surf – the seagulls – the stillness of the early morning hour – the sand cold – bundled up – ear muffs and scarf – waiting – waiting – waiting.

Our Father , who art in heaven , hallowed be thy name , thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.

Papa’s World – Coloring eggs on the lanai -exploring Barefoot Landing – LITTLE ONES!

One of the first things Sherry did for the little ones after they had a good nights sleep-

Was to color Easter Eggs!

So – she hard boiled the eggs – set up on the Lanai – and they got to it!

Taylor Cassidy Bode – on the Lanai overlooking the small lake at Ocean Keyes – coloring Easter Eggs!

This has been a tradition with MorMor – as they call her -Swede for Mothers Mother!

She has done this even before Bode – who is six was born!

Afterward – things were washed up and packed for Tammy to take back to NVA!

Cassidy Bode Taylor

I think Cassidy and Bode should of been the twins!

They are so much alike and act the same.

It is hard for me to tell the difference if I am not looking at them – to see who is talking!

Now – Bode is going to be tall like Taylor – who is so laid back!

She likes her “TAYLOR” time!

She also is going to be the tallest of the granddaughters

With Maddy being 5′ 6″ – Ella 5′ 8 1/2 ” and Sarah pushing Ella at 14 years old!

We took the family to Barefoot landing in North Myrtle Beach –

We had taken them there before and the little ones love the playground!

There was a Easter Egg hunt – scavenger – find the different stores hunt going on!
Cassidy at one of our favorite stores!
Cassidy and Taylor with I think Frozen Princess’s

Then it was time for a late lunch – our reservations were ready!

PAPA’S WORLD

Papas World – Day #26 of shelter in place.

Here we are – social distancing – sheltering in place –

searching google places we can buy food – SENIORS ONLY!

Our new way to ride our bikes
and to take our daily walks
on the 18 miles of trails we have
social distancing
giving wide berths
and crossing streets to avoid
people when possible

What has become a new norm – all in less than a months time!

Our motto has become this.

We have become puzzle experts –

Netflix bingeing on series!

Our way of still practicing
Palm Sunday

Church now is live streamed

and we attend that way.

Our Tower Garden in the garage with grow lights

We will begin to harvest this coming weekend

The other two outside with all the vines and bigger vegetables

are coming along nicely.

Putting puzzles together

My number one rule in puzzles

MUST BE RAVENBURGER puzzles

and 500 or less pieces!

Our table can not handle anymore than that!

Just a short blog on STAYING IN PLACE SHELTERING!

Welcome to Papa’s World –
