Papa’s World – More pictures forms new memories.

She is gentle –

yet will bark if anything comes near the fenced-in yard!

She wiggles – and swamps us when we visit –

Licking our hands – and face.

She is a GoldenDoodle –

And she belongs to the Krohn family-

And our three youngest grandkids-

Cassidy-Taylor and Bode.

She will lay with her head in your lap and sleep.

And she is so warm and cuddly.

Her name is “MARLEY,” and she is considered our granddog!

She is so mild – the kids dress her up,

and she just lets them.

Taylor has trained her to do so many things.

Of the three,

Taylor is the one who controls her the best.

Taylor and Marley –

This is often how you find them –

She follows her all over.

When she hears firecrackers or gun shots –

She has panic attacks –

And it is Taylor –

who gets her to calm down.

Memories of “MARLEY” –

PAPA’S WORLD –

My site: livinglifedoingitmyway.blog

Papa’s World – Penny – my first dog.

She was brown and black – a mutt – but she was my mutt!

She was not a house dog – why I do not know – from my first memory of her –

she was on a chain in the back yard with her own dog house – full of hay and straw.

The chain was about twenty feet long so she had a wide area to run around in.

The dog house sat by the corner of the very old red barn next to the railroad tracks.

My father had at one time dug out the foundation to jack it up and put supports under it.

He had found a very old sword in the ground – still in its sheath and that was all pitted and rusted away.

We guessed it had fallen off a train and was maybe the Spanish American War or Civil War.

Penny was the only dog we had as I was growing up – funny – I do not remember her passing on.

But I do remember her always wagging her whole body when I came down to see her.

She was never loose as they said she would run and would not obey –

they were afraid she would get hit by a car on the main street in front of the house.

I never had another dog while living at home but my sister who lived next door did.

Pedro was my favorite – small – blonde – and he was a house dog.

I had dogs after that when I was on my own.

After I left and my dad passed away my mom got a very little dog named Sparky.

He was a house dog and very small.

But penny was the first dog I remembered – I liked her –

Papa’s World – Remembering the past.

So many times in the past 18-plus years –

we have traveled across the country to attend the Juice Plus Conference –

held every six months alternating coasts!

Always a learning experience and seeing friends from across the nation.

The Pandemic slowed me down because of being in an airplane –

but when it is driveable – I will go.

I have had Covid twice – so I am as careful as possible.

REMEMBERING THE PAST!

SWEET BETSEY! She was the best dog and I miss seeing her in the yard or when we visit.

She belonged to our neighbors Diane and Steve three doors up from us.

She would greet us each time we walked by – her whole body wagged as she would rub against our legs.

She was never tied up in her yard and she would not leave the yard.

She made these little guttural sounds when we would watch her and go over to take her out.

I still find myself “SEEING” her when we walk by the yard.

SWEET BETSEY – REMEMBERING THE PAST!

Our LITTLE CASSIDY – who draws such wonderful pictures for us to frame.

Here is one she drew a couple years ago –

and I have another framed and hanging for me to see every day over my desk as I write!

She is so creative – this one was when she was ELEVEN YEARS OLD!

REMEMBERING THE PAST!

Tanny and Marcus and the first grandson – in November he will be ten years old –

Five granddaughters and then Bode.

Today he golfs- plays soccer and flag football!

REMEMBERING THE PAST!

All these past memories – bring joy to my heart!

Tanny and Marcus – with the twins Taylor and Cassidy – now going to be fourteen years old!

They were early – each weighing over one pound – so small –

Today – Taylor is almost 5’7 1/2″ and Cassidy is 5′ 5″ tall – she is catching up.

Both play the violin and Cassidy has trained herself to play the piano!

Taylor rides horses and would spend all her time with them if she could!

REMEMBERING THE PAST!

The day we were married – 6-25-1982 – a change in both of our lives.

We both committed to one another and remain that way today.

Papa’s World – “Swing Low Sweet Chariot – Betsy went home”

I am writing this blog today with much sorrow.

A long time ago – we had to put down Samatha – our dog for almost 14 years.

Yesterday – our neighbors and dear friends – Diane and Steve Zimmerman –

Lost their beloved “BETSY” – a small black lab.

The day before when we found out she had gotten ill – we went to see her.

She always would walk up to us and wag her whole back end and tail – gently leaning against our legs-

And remain there for minutes at a time.

Going from Sherry to me over and over again.

This time she was on her bed on the floor – not moving much but she did move her head so I could scratch under her snout –

Her eyes never left mine – she knew we were there –

but she was so ill she could not greet us.

When we would DOGGY SIT – she would meet us at the door with her funny little guttering sounds –

not a whine and not a bark – but a low sound emitting from deep within her throat.

Steve and Diane – close friends and neighbors –

we have in common all of being from the same WNY area –

they still maintain a summer cottage on Rushford Lake –

and visit many of the same spots we did in Olean when we lived there.

I do not know where dogs go when they pass on – I would like to believe they go to heaven.

My faith – my want to believe it to be possible – makes me feel that we shall see them again.

dog paw trail in the sky clouds

Betsy was a favorite of all our kids and grandkids –

they would go up the street to see her if she was outside.

She would lay in the yard for hours – you could trust her – in the hot sun and then the shade.

She rarely barked – yet when you approached her she would stand and start wiggleing.

She would not run into the street and stay in the yard until you reached her.

She was black, not white – but this is how she lay in the yard.

Betsy was a gentle soul – all the neighbors knew her and would stop and talk to her.

We are going to miss her – it will be strange not seeing her in that yard as we walk by.

And even stranger when we walk with BETSY and DIANE –

Or see her in the truck with Steve –

She always had a ribbon attached to her collar.

She was the most gentle of dogs and our three younger grandkids always wanted to walk up and see her.

Today is a sad day as Betsy left yesterday – I will always remember my last visit with her

and those eyes looking into mine.

Papa’s World – Through the eyes of children – INNOCENCE!

And also our children!

They show no prodigious – they share – they love and they sometimes cry but hug afterward.

They are children and we as adults are responsible for their eys in the future!

It is this that makes their world a wonder.

Our time here on earth is short – but our influence goes generation to generation –

Our historical presence is passed forward

If only we could overcome those thoughts and ideas and actions.

Sad but so true.

Look for the goodness of people – share love and gratitude – have compassion.

PAPA’S WORLD: ” THROUGH THE EYES OF A CHILD – INNOCENCE”

Papa’s World – And now there is Marley!

Marcus and Tammy – 2005

Our daughter married Marcus in 2005 – and since then – a set of twins – Cassidy and Taylor –

Both are about to turn 12 years old.

Taylor on the left and Cassidy on the right – and just between them further back is Bode!

Bode is now seven years old – all boy and things boys do.

Taylor is riding horses and Cassidy is playing soccer.

Bode with his daddy at a Caps game!

About a year ago – along came Marley – the Goldendoodle!

Marcus and Marley – she has become the love of all of them.
Marcus – Taylor – Bode – Tammy and Cassidy – and of course MARLEY!
