Papa’s World – Sister-in-law takes us for lunch at Fishy-Fishy!

Sherry and I have opposite birthdays – Hers is 7-5-1949 and mine is 5-7-1949!

I think for the past 43-plus years – we are meant to be soul mates!

To celebrate both our birthdays – my sister-in-law Debbie –

drove us to Southport, N.C. for a late lunch at FISY-FISHY on the water –

as a way to say HAPPY BIRTHDAY to both of us!

A view from the railing of the water and boats docked to eat here!

A look out over the bay toward I think Oak Island or Baldhead Island –

from the railing of FISHY-FISHY!

Debby noticed this sign on it MEADVILLE, PA. where she once lived and also lived in WI.

The restaurant is huge – both inside and outside covered seating.

Covered with signs and neat ornaments like this frog!

We have been here numerous times when strolling the streets of Southport shopping.

It takes us about 45 minutes to get here.

On the waterfront here are maybe six or more places to sit and eat and drink!

They also have my favorite draft beer – RED OAK – which is unique to coastal Carolina in this area.

Not an IPA but is red in color.

If I see it in any eatery – it is my go-to beverage.

A wall of funny signs greets you on one side of the covered outside between the two bars.

A good day of sitting on the water eating “LINNER” –

This is what Sherry and I call the combination of LUNCH and DINNER!

A celebration of birthdays at FISHY-FISHY – thanks to Sherry’s sister – DEBBIE!

Papa’s World – when old friends visit from NVA!

Jim and Claudia – from Reston Va. She has a fantastic voice and sang in Ireland.

Jim – a Vice President of a Fortune 500 company – was responsible for building the first Data Centers

in Ireland and four more in Europe in the ’90s.

Jim and Claudia – here visiting and exploring a nearby community for retirement.

Claudia has a fantastic voice and sang all over Ireland and back here.

We met them through other friends – and on our birthdays she calls us up and sings to us!

Another friend – Nancy – who now lives in Charleston with her husband John – came up to visit.

We all know one another and her husband could not make it for prior commitments to their church.

Her husband also sings in opera.

Nancy also attended our former church along with John.

Papa – Jim – Claudia – Nancy and Sherry are out to early dinner or as we call it LINNER!

We are talking about a trip to Charleston to see John and Nancy.

A lot of NVA friends are going to end up close to us!

WHEN OLD FRIENDS VISIT FROM NORTHERN VIRGINIA!

Papa’s World – Seasons end dinner at INLET VIEW!

One of our favorite places to go and eat – observe the water – boats, and marshland – is INLET VIEW!

Situated just a short distance from Shallotte, N.C. – it closes on Nov. 27th, until Valentine’s day when it begins a new season.

Sherry – Diane our neighbor whose husband is still back in WNY while renovations are done on their cottage on Rushford lake

enjoying our dinner at an outside table on the third-floor top deck!

While it was chilly for a late afternoon – around 52 degrees – we had thermo blankets and our jackets.

But – the dinner was good – always have had good meals there and the view is fantastic – also the seasonal holiday

boat parade met in the bay for their parade back down to OIB!

The first boat to arrive waiting to move across the bay to the other 20 boats.

As the sunset – we watched boats hunting for clams on the banks across from us – birds swooping along the waterway

and the boats that were tied up with Christmas lights on them.

PAPA’S WORLD – with Sherry and Diane – SEASON’S END DINNER at INLET VIEW!

Papa’s World – at Lake Chautauqua – dinner on the boat – friends all these years.

The Casinio bar and grill – drive up by boat – order and eat and drink!

We arrived around 3:10 pm. on Friday – just in time to move in and unpack – grab a few drinks –

Mike had the boat ready and we made our way out onto the dock and into the boat.

WE WERE HEADED FOR DINNER TO THE CASINO – ABOUT TWO MILES AWAY BY WATER!

Slowly heading to the bar and grill – a nice late afternoon boat ride.
We had tried last year to do the same – but when we got there – they had run out of food!

This spot is a big thing on the lake – it seems all the boats head there and wait in line for a spot.

Not all spots are made for big boats and Mike likes to get a end spot – easier to dock.

Tied up to the dock – after ordering food and drinks – they walk all the way out to these spots and wait on you!
In the back ground is the ferry – taking passengers from one side to the other. I went inside to use the bathroom-

and it is a very cool nightclub inside with a huge bar and lots of inside tables.
