The “GALS” foursome of Debbie – Dottie – Cindy and Sherry – they BEAT US!!!!!

The “GUYS” – Papa – Buck – Jimmy – Craig – we gave them 8 strokes and we beat them by 3 but with strokes, they won by 5!

The course starts and ends up alongside the ICW – and the rest is along the marsh – 14 of 18 holes have water.

Papa’s World – HAPPY LIFE – memories – good thoughts!

In my autumn years – I channel out the negative press – news – and look for the good in humankind!

Papa – chilling at Brickyard Landing golf course in N.C. – a fifteen-minute drive from our home on the ICW!

We had come to the driving range to hit some golf balls and then have a drink on the veranda overlooking the 18th fairway and green!

HAPPY LIFE living each day one day at a time!

While I have never done this – I have come close and one time my buddy did this and went over to the homeowner and said he was sorry!

That proved to be a good thought and outcome as the owner then accepted his apology!

I have been eating these for 16-plus years – sometimes in place of a meal or on the golf course.

I tend to like the TART CHERRY!

My wife Sherry and myself on the ICW with friends last summer – living the retired life in the CAROLINAS!

Papa’s World – Part two – golfing Brick Landing Golf Course!

The course is tight with water everywhere!

Be sure to bring balls!

The course was very fun – we lost golf balls but found some also.

It was dry and needed rain – the balls just ran and ran into water!

After we both hit our tee shots – we ended up here by the 150-yard marker!

We actually used Sherry’s ball as it was about ten yards farther –

but we still had to go over another pond and to the green!

A beautiful day and we ended up on the beach – golfing – walking on the sand and surf.

Thirteen minutes from home is an older course called Brick Landing.

Three of its holes run right along the ICW – and then across the road and along the marshes.

The course has lots of water on both sides of the fairways –

and what seems like a good shot – well the ball runs and runs and soon you are in the water!

Papa’s World – we decided to celebrate an early Valentine’s day with dinner at Bricklanding, N.C.

Bricklanding golf course – pro shop and restaurant.

We were told that they have specials occasionally on Friday evenings –

but you MUST make reservations.

And it is buffet style for $25.00 and is themed.

This time it was Italian and it lived up to my expectations.

The meal includes deserts – ice tea – coffee.

There is also a bar if you want other drinks!

We are going to come back here and golf as it is only fifteen minutes from our home.

I am told three of the holes run along this waterway and then the course crosses the street.

They also said they shut down last year and redid all the greens!

They have two other themed buffet dinners that II know about –

Prime rib is one and Fish is the other.

We will go back again although neither one of us will be able to eat $25.00 worth –

but it was fun sitting there overlooking the course and waterways.

We got to pick and choose on the buffet and salad bar –

the help was very friendly and just getting out and to a scene such as this was worth it!
