GRANDDAUGHTERS EXCEL IN SCHOOL!

Papa’s World – Tonight – graduation – Tears – Thoughts

Eighteen years have passed – so many memories of the little one

PAPA & MADDY

There was a time – I would pick her up from the babysitter after work –

I would be done at 2:30 PM.

Her parents both worked –

and she would come running to me and leap-

Her arms encircling my neck as I knelt down –

” PACA” she would shout !

( that is how she said PAPA )

GOOD MORNING

There was the time –

she was in the back in her car seat –

I heard a “SOB”

and I looked in the mirror –

She made eye contact

and held up her little hand –

TEARS were streaming down her cheeks –

not making a sound !

She had twisted a hair tie around her little finger –

It had almost turned a deep blue – black !

I pulled off the road to the side

and got out – quickly – I got it off –

I rubbed her little finger –

it hurt her so bad .

” PACA – PACA – ” she kept saying.

TEARS and her nose was running –

I cleaned her up –

all the time rubbing her finger.

Graduation from Elementary school

Then – the years passed –

they had moved to the other side of Winchester –

She was almost 11 years old –

so cute – so classy –

She was the student body president !

She was going to MIDDLE SCHOOL –

She had already played soccer for SEVEN YEARS !

She joined Track –

and ran the mile –

running a 5:48 –

The high school coach wanted her on the track team !

But “SOCCER ” –

it was at the same time – her love –

Soccer won out –

she was on the Travel Team – H.S. team –

and as a Sophomore –

she tried out and made the Loudoun County RED TEAM

Traveling 60 miles – three times a week – one way – to practice !

IT HAPPENS – LOL

The time went by – track fell behind – soccer bloomed !

Six teen – sweet

She has always loved MANATEE’S – so – at six teen – for her birthday –

We took a trip to Florida – and her mother and her flew down one way.

She went to Crystal River – Springs –

and there – her dream came true-

She SWAM WITH THE MANATEE’S !

Party Saturday

Now – the DAY

has finally come -but first – AWARDS !

AWARDS ON STAGE
Maddy and Ella

Ella helped her with her awards – she earned –

last day –

schools out for her

From that little tot-to a lady

She is all grown up now –

she doesn’t remember the word “PACA”

But – I shall always remember her saying it.

I will remember the songs we sang-

The little voice from her car seat in the rear-

The hugs – the little arms around my neck-

PARTY ON – LOVE LIFE – REMEMBER WHAT YOU CAN –

Tonight – we watch her walk that final step of High School –

Tonight is the end of a time well spent –

Tonight – she will look not back –

Tonight she will look forward to a new beginning –

One – that she has already begun –

for she has a new schedule –

A new training schedule

which she already has started –

A training schedule for the UNIVERSITY OF LYNCHBUG –

Her new team – ” THE HORNETS ” –

COLLEGE SOCCER – starts now.

PAPA’S WORLD

a daily blog – one day at a time

Papa’s World – Grand daughters – each selected as MVP for their teams.

Sisters – three years apart – one graduated this week –

Going on to play Soccer at University Of Lynchburg , Va.

The other – returning as a Junior – and made the Travel Team –

BOTH SELECTED AS MVP of THEIR TEAMS –

At the same position – MIDFIELDER – by their coaches!

MADDY MEYERS & ELLA MEYERS

Maddy will continue her play in college –

But the other story here is of Ella –

last TWO YEARS –

She suffered a broken bone in her foot

( one of her teammates came down on it )

And then – after almost six months ( growth plate was fractured )

She came down on it wrong and suffered a hair line fracture to her arch.

Maddy and Ella

They have been close –

very close – all through the years !

I remember the time that Maddy got a new bed –

Ella came to me –

And just like you see her smile here in this picture –

She looked at me and said

” I’VE GOT MADDY’S BED ” !

She was so proud to have her sisters white whicker single bed !

My own thoughts have been sort of a

WHAT IF –

Had she not broken those bones in her foot –

she lost two years of playing.

And in her first year back –

she was selected as MVP

and made the Travel Team!

Her confidence is back –

they both play the same position –

Ella is growing –

she now is a little taller than Maddy –

Has a very good skill set –

And now will play on –

She once again believes

after watching from the side lines.

They both hold their MVP plaques

Graduation Party was Saturday –

guests – players – relatives.

The training has begun –

running hills – sprints –

and Ella has joined in.

It will be a fun Fall

as both will start playing again.

Once again – both will pursue their dreams –

Maddy in college – Ella for two more years in high school.

Sherry – very proud grandma
Signing letter of Intent

Madison Margo Myers –

Always that smile
Smiling

Her smile – her warmth – her always helping others.

She loves animals

I will always remember her

But also as the one who disappears –

to find her off somewhere alone –

Reading a book or writing a journal on horses !

Taylor loves riding

She is our little equestrian –

learning not only how to ride –

but care for them !

She writes books and journals –
