July – 2024 – the week of the 4th.

Our family all stayed in a beach house to celebrate both of our 75th birthdays that year.

We have led our lives to this standard.

Here, the grandkids celebrate the 4th. with sparklers.

Anything more than that is not allowed on the island!

The island has a parade attended by thousands.

We all went, and our friend Jim invited us to use his side yard to park –

And set up chairs on the sidewalk in front of his home.

Here we are with Sherry’s sister and part of her family-

The whole week was excellent, and we hope to one day do it again.

Good day everyone – this blog is about some of the celebrations of our family for the past years 4th. of July.

Bode – our youngest grandchild – the only boy from Sherry’s side of the family.

Tammy and Bode before he could walk – today is 8 going on 9 years old!

Mike and his daughters – Sarah – Ella and Maddy – next birthdays will be 17 – 20 and 23!

Family celebrations have always been important to us – Sherry’s birthday is July 5th.

Ella – Taylor – Sarah and Cassidy – today the twins are 12 going on 13!

Tammy – Debby – Sherry watching kids on Beach 2 at Lake Holiday – always our go-to beach when visiting.

Lady Liberty – we have been here once!

Cassidy – their father Marcus and Taylor – they were so cute – love them!

Lake Holiday – Maddy – Sarah – Ella and Sherry – family get-together.

Papa’s World – OIB – 4th. of July golf cart parade!

Front row seats – 284 decorated golf carts – thousands of people.

We were front row with our chairs and the grandkids were so excited!

Here you see Bode – Taylor – Cassidy and Sherry.

It was a joyous celebration of our nations birthday!

There were also other participates in the parade!
Sherry ( MORMOR) Taylor Cassidy and Bode watching as the parade begins.
As the parade continued – dark clouds were rolling in – thunder in the distance!
The clouds rolled in and the thunder got loud – soon we saw lightening and we headed across the street beneath the wine – beer and coffee shop!
Just before we crossed the street – this man saw me take this picture and his comment was – THIS IS WHAT YOU WILL REMEMBER THE MOST ABOUT THIS PARADE – THUNDER- LIGHTENING- AND POUR DOWN RAIN FROM THESE CLOUDS and he was right – we made it just in time and two houses on the beach were struck by lightening – MOTHER NATURE PREVAILED!
Later that day – sunset – the storm cleared out – we made it back from OIB and all was well!

I am glad I had my HIPPIE YEARS all those years ago! YIKES!

All those years later – we have sold our home

and are spending time back and forth between our daughters homes.

Here – we are at Debby and Mikes at Lake Holiday – Cross Junction.

We have come for the 4th. of July – and the fireworks on the lake

at a friends of theirs dock!

We have been coming here for the past 14 years to be with them

Sherry is a senior sales cordinator

and Debby a Qualified National Marking Director.

Both for the same company –

The Juice Plus Company

and both certified health coaches.

The peaceful setting – ducks on the water – speed boats –

and pontoon boats pulling tubes and skiers.

We had a excellent view – and had watched the boats headed to the marina.

Observing is my nature – I like to watch – listen –

and I as I get older – I am learning –
